I dont know the logistics of all of that. I know that at the end of the day others arent responsible for how you choose to treat people. You are. Just because another country has different sick times and mental health things. Doesnt give a green light for people to be shitty to each other. I think its less about the work environments and more about the culture. Because that dictates everything With that being said I do agree that things here need to change. And I believe it is changing.... just slower than most would like. There are other factors involved over there too. Like the fact that Buddhism is such a large part of their culture.
