Our visit took place in March 2020, fitting in one last overseas adventure before returning home to Australia for lockdown! Fingers crossed we can all travel again soon. For advice on the ability to travel at this time, you should consult your local government and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (for Aussie's www.smartraveller.gov.au/ is a great resource too).
We also visited Thailand in March 2020, we were lucky to board the last commercial flight out of BKK to Switzerland on Thai Air. We are missing travel. Thank god we can watch your videos.
Thank you 🙌🏻❤️ glad you made it home in time and so very happy we could give you a little travel fix with these vids! We’ve got a Hua Hin video next week 😍
Your dress to temples is ALMOST perfect. You neck line is a bit deep. Next time a light scarf to cover that part up when you go to temples would be perfect.
Bangkok, the city of angels. One of the magnificent city of the tourist destination. There are lot of islands and temples. I think millions of tourists visiting this country a year. Thank you guys for sharing about the beautiful country and enjoy.
That's so lovely that you have a place you can feel that way about time and time again :) I'm always impressed by just how much there is to do! I never feel like I have to do the same things over and over each time I visit - it's such a cool place :) Phoebe x
Bangkok has so much to offer... most memorable meals were at Lerdtip, Heng Chun Seng Beef Fire Pot & bucket list experience Gaggan ... their 7-11 is really good too but Japan is still ichiban
Oh wow!!! You were AMAZING! You have a great energy, you really brought the whole place alive 🙌🏻❤️ so happy you found this video - I don’t think you guys could’ve looked any cooler in the footage 😂
I went to Thailand (mainland and Phuket) in Nov 2019 and it was the most amazing experience I ever had. Super-lovely people there. The vlog just rekindled the love for them and the place. Hope to get there once again..!
Oh I just loved your comment! Couldn’t agree more. There’s something very special about the locals in Thailand. Everyone is so welcoming, kind and proud to show their country off 😊 Phoebe x
hahaha I hear you! I have to make sure I've eaten before Matt let's me watch the drafts of these videos. It doesn't stop me from craving Thai food tho!! P xx
สวัสดี! I agree so much on your statement about the freshness and intensity of the fruits and foods. I feel the same way about the fruits in tropical destinations in the Caribbean. Also that sky bar and roof top with glass bottom looked so amazing! Also I have never seen you eating something so spicy Matt had to turn the camera off 😅. Oh and that cat cafe reminded me of Tokyo, I love those cafes! You make my post-COVID bucket list longer every week, well done 🙈. I’ll be watching from Austria the next weeks as I’m off for holidays after rebooking 5 times 🤭. Thanks for sharing your Thailand experience and have a great week 🤙
You can just taste the difference, right? Like everything has so much more flavour and zest! hahaha I knowww that thing was sooo spicy. Since then I've been working on my spice intake trying to get hotter and hotter. It's like a personal challenge, right?! hehe OH WOW!! I'm so happy you're able to travel again, Felix. I know how hard this has been on you - taking that week away to Austria will be just what you need to scratch the travel itch. Have the BEST time! P xx
I just loved the human touch you brought to your travel video when you introduced your travel guide, complimented and thanked her. I could see that she was a bit overwhelmed with emotion. Exploring the world is not just about seeing places , it is even about forming those human bonds and carrying those sweet memories that would last a lifetime.
😊❤️ thank you so much, you’re so kind. Nam is a wonderful guide an amazing human! So funny, knowledgeable and an incredible host and guide!! She made our trip so much more enjoyable 😍 Phoebe x
I can tell you're from Brisbane just from your floral dresses. I watch Brisbane walking videos and that's like the local swag, 90% of the women have those beautiful batik style floral dresses.
Oh so good you’ve got that seat sorted and can look forward to it 😍 I miss travelling too! Going a bit stir crazy lately but watching our travels back is giving me hope 😊 Phoebe x
My Metu civil engineer alumni couple of friends had visited Thailand after I had returned from my 1st trip to Thailand in 1997 and had dinner together, 10 times from Turkey for 1.5 weeks recess durations with his friends until he had married to Kazakh lady and had 2 daughters. It is just 10.000 kms from air, duration of flight is 12 hours from Istanbul to Bkk.
Your undeniable charm and ethereal beauty make your videos even more fascinating. An angel exploring the world for our sensory pleasure. You're terrific.
Love the suggestions. Been to Bangkok a few times now. But mainly went with the street foods and local restaurants. Lots of hidden gems in your guide. Want to check out the cat cafe on my next visit. Also the fine dining restaurants. Was this video pre lockdown?
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you found a few new spots to visit through watching this video :) The first few times I visited I only experienced the crowded, backpacker spots and didn't like BKK at all. I thought I'd never visit again but I'm so glad I did - I just needed to find spots that connected with me better. I really had no idea BKK had such a vast range of food (street food to fine dining) and really cool, quirky and cultural experiences too. Hope we can all travel again soon and you get to visit!! Phoebe x
I'm half thai and every 2 years I travel to Thailand and Bangkok. So many things to there... Eating there is so dangerous because it has too much delicious and interesting designed food.🥵👌 Very good video and präsentation!👍 Furthermore thank you for these great ideas! If next year the pandemie hopefully ends I will visit these places😋 Keep it up and stay healthy!💪🏻✌🏻
I too love BK, didn't know about the boat taxi. We hired a longboat, to look around for about 1 hour. on the Chao Phraya river, which was expensive ( only 2 of us ) Mahanakhon Skywalk was well worth it, & the ride in the lift was brilliant, There was no Band, it was about 1.30pm lucky, not cloudy had a great view. Was the food in their Restaurant expensive.Cheers
Thank you so much for watching!! Sounds like you had a great time in BKK!! I recommend checking the restaurant website directly for current prices and to decide if it's expensive :)
oh I miss Thailand. Cant wait to become things normal and go back to Thailand. Btw i really loved your Hua Hin vlog. Forgot to drop comment on that one..
This is certainly a pre-covid video. The late Thai king's portraits were still adorned everywhere in the video...that means this video is at least three years old.
@@travelforphoebe I see. :) Missed Thailand as I travel there from singapore 2-3 times a year and almost every year. Anyway, great video! Will try out siam @siam the next time. :)
haha I miss SINGAPORE! I lived there for a few years with my family (in Bedok). They still live there now but with all the border closures, I haven't seen them in so long. I miss all that good food too - there's nothing here in Australia that quite compares to Hawker Centre food :(
😍😍 thank you so much!! I get around the house wearing the baggiest men’s t shirts, jeans and shorts 😂 it’s nice to dress up when we travel and I love finding things at thrift stores and giving them new life 😊🙌🏻 thanks for watching. Phoebe xx
Sawasdee Krap! This video is in my recommendations list on RU-vid in the past few days. I found this video very informative and enjoyable after watching it. I am glad that you visited and had an excellent time at my home city right before this craziness happened. 😃 Hope that you can visit my home city again once the coronavirus crisis is over. Till then, take care and stay safe.
Never have been to Bangkok before but it was always on my To Do List. Would love to shoot some videos there for our channel. Is it manageable at the moment with all the covid rules?
The first few times I visited Bangkok I didn't like it and had no intention of going back but I'm really glad I did! I just needed to find the right kind of experiences for me (not just crowded, heaving backpacker spots haha) Now, I love it and would go back time and time again! We filmed this in March this year and things were very different then. I don't believe it would be possible right now but it's best to check with your local government and the Tourism Authority of Thailand directly :) P xx
@@travelforphoebe Good you changed your vision. I guess the safest for the moment is we go travel and film a little more here in Europe and wait till this thing blows over.
Thank you for coming to Thailand and love our country. You and Matt are gorgeous. We hope we can see you again in Thailand more often once everything is back to normal :) PS. if you have a chance, please check out my channel. I started my channel for traveling too :D
Great work Matt, excellent videography!! Phoebe, your calm voice makes the video more enjoyable! Keep travelling and keep posting so we could enjoy more! 😁
I was last in Bangkok in June 2019. Grab had a selection of private car options (car, premium, suv) as well as Grab Taxi. Grab Car worked great when I was there. I don't see any news that the car options have dissappeared. But I think maybe the APP maybe shows taxi or car options. Maybe it's changed but I'd be surprised if it did.
Hello, Banana flower will be used only with flower cloves, eaten with Pad Thai and will not bring the flower part to eat with Pad Thai because of its astringent taste.
You are lucky to be able to go home just before the closure of Thailand but my American friends are not as lucky as you.. he is still stuck in Thailand until today.. but I think he might be more fortunate that he's trapped in Thailand instead of going home in the situation right now.. haha
We filmed this in March this year and things were very different then. We returned home to Australia at the end of this trip and, yes, self-isolated at home for 14 days :) I hope we can all travel again very soon!
Awesome video Phoebe. Glad you got a chance to visit Bangkok again pre-Covid. I saw your last Bangkok video a year and wished you would have seen more. I was last in Bangkok in June 2019 and I never get tired of the city. It's just an amazing 24/7 city with so much amazing food and night life.
Hahaha I hear you! We never seem to get long there huh?! Need to spend like a month there filming and digging really deep into the city. Hopefully we can all travel again soon 😊 thanks for watching this vid too!! P xx
Hi there, We are Roman and Fizah and we love traveling. At the moment, we are walking over 500km to raise awareness on the environment. Please if you ever come to Malaysia do not hesitate to contact us
I really love your videos! You are beautiful too the way you dress is so fashionable! Hope to see you and make videos together when I go to Thailand! Come and visit Philippines too. ❤️
🥰🥰🥰 you’re so kind! Thank you so much. We would love to come to the Philippines!! We visited Boracay once many years ago and it was great! Would love to see more of the Philippines though, it’s just so beautiful and the people are amazing.
😍😍 thank you so much!! Welcome! We’re very happy to have you here. Have a wonderful day and thanks for your kindness and support - it means a lot. Phoebe xx
Hey guys! Even after watching many of your videos I still can’t believe the amount of information you get to share on such a small time and with a great perspective! I was wondering how safe you felt in Bangkoc and if you could give a idea of the price of a tasting menu like the last one (I know is a sensitive question, don’t answer if you don’t feel ok with it!).. can’t wait for the next video! 😊🇧🇷
Thank you Tess!! You’re so sweet 😍 we felt very safe in Bangkok, I’d say it’s like anywhere in the world, when travelling, best to always be alert and do what you can to minimise risks (I.e not make yourself a target for pickpockets or walk around alone down dark alleys late at night). But, honestly, I’ve never felt unsafe or uneasy in Bangkok. Hahaha no not too sensitive at all! The menu changes at TAAN and they have different options (6 courses, 9 courses, paired wines etc) so its best to check their website directly for prices. They’ve got them listed on there in THB 😍🙌🏻 P xx
😊❤️ I’m so glad you could see your beautiful home again in this vid!! I can’t imagine how hard it must be being away from home in this way for so long. Phoebe x
hahahaha oh my gosh, noooo! I could never! A friend of mine at a tarantula once and it made my skin crawl. Would you try bugs???? P xx (p.s thank you for replying back to that other person for me! Appreciate it :)
I really hope you’re able to visit Vietnam in December 😊 It’s such a great place too! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing 😍🙌🏻 have a great weekend. Phoebe xx
Your vlogs are as refreshing as that papaya salad ice cream. Thanks for sharing and hope your country opens up so you can do more vids like this.. Really enjoyed it.
The amount of adjectives you use to describe the food and the places in a single video, I don't use in a whole year 😂😂 Excellent presentation. I have been to Bangkok, didn't have a good time, the weather was awful, couldn't breath. Looking forward for a Brisbane trip. 🤙🏻
hahahaha right?! I need to get a thesaurus out and start digging up some new ones! I'm running out! Food is SO good! I totally understand where you're coming from - I honestly hated Bangkok the first 3 times I visited! Took me a while to connect with the city and find the beauty in it :) Thanks for watching and I hope you have a beautiful week ahead. Phoebe xx
@@travelforphoebe thank you Phoebe, you and Matt are awesome, love your positivity in the videos!! Who knows, I might hire you guys as my personal guides when I visit Brisbane 😄 I have been in WA, NSW, and Victoria so far. Big fan of seafood and I must admit the OZ one is probably the best in the world! Keep up the good work! Love your videos!
was this a recent travel? im so jealous.. i cant really go anywhere except domestic flights but even hawaii is shut off. i’m not too much into domestic traveling. i’ve moved around here all my life everywhere looks the same lol plus it’s boring without a group friends. whilst traveling abroad solo you can actually experience the country
We visited in March this year, managing to fit in one last overseas trip before heading home in time for lockdown. Yeah, I hear what you're saying. Something about overseas travel you get a sense of... anonymity... almost? Like, you're alone in the world and can do whatever you want! It's a great feeling to detach from the norm :) P xx
I just checked the countries safe to travel and Australia Canada New Zealand Thailand are for the UK but sadly not American passports for abroad except some countries but there’s mandatory 14 day quarantine which I think is a waste of time and money like for 14 days that’s a whole vacation just to be stuck in the hotel all day. or like a 72 hour test which is hard to procure bc most tests take a week to two weeks to get results. I really hope our lives can resume to normal again 💖🙏🏻
You’re a mind reader! I was just thinking this morning that I’ll write a post for the blog sharing our itinerary 😍😍 I hope you get to visit soon!!! P xxx
Very warm welcome to our country. Your face look like the pop star in the ROMAN movies. Thai people will kindly support you with love. Good luck and safe for this trip . Sawatdee krub.
Thank you so much :) Just google 'Absolutely Fantastic Holidays,' Thailand and you'll find them. My guide was Nam if you want to request her, she's based in BKK!
Hallo hi very nice you are in Thailand .you are amazing some things like Thai food you are travel so find l can see you are visiting some places pretty good watching connect with Thai people so wonderful always by your self sense in emotion all best good thanks.
Nice video, as always, Phoebe and Matt! Hope both of you are doing well. Take care! We considered Bangkok when we considered visiting Thailand, but, we were put off by the crowds and the heat and the humidity, so, we ended up visiting Koh Samui instead. Maybe, we should consider a day or two at Bangkok next time we visit Thailand, whenever that might be. Take care and be well and travel well! Cheers, Matt and Phoebe!
I hear you!! Honestly, I really hated Bangkok the first few times I went. It was so hot, crowded and just felt like a big city. I vowed to never go again! But I’m glad I did cos the last two times I’ve been I saw more of the local way of life, had better cultural experiences, avoided the crowds and discovered food spots that I enjoyed more too!! Now, I love the place. I think the backpacker route gets shown too much and we don’t get to see the other side of BKK! Hopefully our Bangkok videos (we have one from last year too) share that other side with you 😊 cos I love the place now!! So glad I didn’t give up on it. P x
