I’ve just realised I arrived in Thailand at the beginning of March 2020 too, just retired. I’am still here enjoying the best life I can. You’ve come a long way well done 👍
I've been following you for three years and It's great to see how you've grown with this channel Richie you are now so comfortable in front of camera, very natural. Keep up this great channel
You're very welcome for the domain, Richie. You guys just deserved it. I do use Wise and send money over to my Thai wife so yes, that saves a lot of money on transfers and stuff like. I've been in Thailand for all of the months already and personally loved Songkran. But also September can be decent. It also depends a bit on where you're staying.
Been to Phuket three time over the years Pissed it down every time I was there. Still had a good time with lots of sight seeing. never been to Pee Pee over priced. fourteen months from my big move from the UK to Hua Hin can't wait, might drive down to Phuket and have a coffee once I have settle down. Good information about the Esim going to get one when I arrive on the 24th December for a months holiday.
LOVE THE VIDEO RICHIE❤ Thanks so much for the informations you have provided! This video totally makes us count the days, hours, minutes & seconds before we can head over to Phuket 😉 in February 2024! We will definitely be dining at Maybelle’s Coffee Garden & cannot wait to see you & Maybelle again 😊🙏🏼❤
Hi Richie and Maybelle. I hope all is well with you guys. The beach looks stunning. This is my first rainy season here in Jomtien. We really didn't get much at all here and its been beautiful hot and sunny most days. I keep seeing on the news that some areas are getting swamped but not here. I hope the good weather brings you guys tons of customers. I haven't been to Phuket yet but I will definitely stop by the coffee garden when i do.
Great vlog Richie, Scooter or car is the way to go when it comes to move around the island. However remember a proper international driving license valid for the vehicle drive is required. The rental companies don’t care checking but you will for sure be stopped in police checkpoints and the will give you a fine if you don’t have the international license. If you get into an accident you may be in shit creek when you find your travel insurance refuse to cover your medical expenses. CE heck in your home country how to get the international license. My experience is that it’s very simple and affordable, doesn’t cost more that the fine you will get if you are stopped by the guys in brown 👮🏽.
Great to get a chance to catch up yesterday with you and Maybelle. The Coffee Garden, food and drinks just get better and better! It is inspirational to watch you go from strength to strength 💪❤
All it took was some patience to be honest. But I've been following Richie and Maybelle from the beginning and love to see them succeed. That's why it was worth the trouble.
Thank you so much for the info.I love the e sim function, gotta love the future. We are doing our last minute research and one of our first stops with be Maybelle’s Coffee Garden. See you soon.
Looking forward to getting back Richie and Maybelle. Hope Maybelle and the baby are good. Appreciate your thoughts on this Richie. This year I am renting a house in Hua Hin but will get over to the island for at least a week or so sometime during my winter stay.
Great information video Ritchie, is on my plans go to Pucket but just next year, so your baby will be a big baby girl lol All the Best for you and Maybelle, you guys deserve all Happiness in the world.
Richie can you please do a video on accommodation, I’ve noticed the prices are more in high season compared to other seasons. I’m a backpacker trying to save money please help!
I always have a hard time deciding when and where to go to in Thailand. I usually a,ways come to Phuket end Nov/ start December, but love Chiangmai and also love Samui which is better in Feb, so I’m torn as to where I’ll go. But this year I’m going to CM for Xmas and then back down to Phuket for just a week before heading home. Will definitely be back at Maybelle’s as the food and drinks were awesome in Dec last year, and I’m hoping to get a sneak peak at Maybelles growing tummy haha Can’t wait for another photo op x x
Why not go to different places every time you go to Thailand? Ever been to Koh Chang? Loved that island as well. I've been to Thailand many times since 2010 and every time learn new things and new places. Even my wife and she lives in Thailand.
Smart bus is fantastic we use all the time it’s 100thb and so easy to use if you not in a hurry. You can also buy a unlimited pass think there is a 3 or 10 day pass.
hi richie i know you kind of dismissed the bus but for first time travellers arriving at the airport and not sure the best way to get to there hotel without getting ripped off take the bus from the airport 100 bart £2.50 pay on the bus and a great way to travel for a day to all the coastal towns without the hassle you can buy a day pass and use it as a hop on hop off bus they run every hour as you know i used it last time we meet and you stopped the bus for us to get on take care mate I am keeping up with all the videos say hello to maybell take care pat pat
@@inlovewiththailand I don’t get how countries that see a fair amount of rain on a yearly basis don’t manage their water supplies properly… I do get though, that on the islands tourism can wreak havoc…
@@midiacoste7506yes, to me that was all very surprising, My wife lived in Bangkok for a very long time, so when she told me she couldn't shower that day, it kinda shocked me haha
I heard about grab being allowed at the airport now. But what about bolt and indriver? I’m tired of airport taxi who either refuse wheelchairs or ask for a few hundred baht extra 😂
Sadly if coming from South Africa all the esim companies charge in dollars or pounds which makes it way expensive then paying at airport. If anyone knows otherwise I’d love to hear
I got a Thai Bank account on a 60 day tourist visa last year. From Bangkok Bank in Karon but had to buy an insurance I think it was 6000 baht for the insurance.
I used the address I was staying at in Rawai. They put the app on my phone and it is still working. Will get my bank book updated when I come back in Dec. The insurance was for accident and lasts one year not sure if it needs updating or it just away of making some money from short term customers.
@@andyclark7395 thanks. yes, I was just wondering this because basically you no longer live on that address the moment you go back home and if the bank send over something to your old hotel, you won't be able to get it.
I will find out when I go to get my bank book updated in December. Getting the bank account is all part of getting the retirement visa. So at least I have done one part.
@@andyclark7395 yeah that was a smart move indeed, And congrats btw for moving to Thailand enjoy your retirement in December. I'm going again in December as well, but just for 1 month to be with my wife
A few years ago you could buy duty free at the airport , and actually take possession of your alcohol, Then you simply buy a can of coke , and then add your rum in a secretly manner, it saved on ripoff’ alcohol prices at the airport bars , Unfortunately this is no longer possible, you collect your rum before you board your flight
Richie we were in Thailand in August booked a Bolt taxi online to go to airport stupidly paid online it never showed. Used Grab no problems lesson learnt dont prepay
On the website, I’ve had exactly the same thing and the person who got it back for me in the end tried selling it to me so I change the company name. Shame shame on some people
mate come to Taiwan and see the mopeds and see 4x times the people the whole family on a moped and kids without a helmet, the weston life is restricted but safe haha, Rich its a different world over this part of the world
