Checkmate has turned into death ball the game mode, it would actually be fun if people took 1v1s instead of 5 people behind a void titan shield

Just checked the math on it. Precision Instrument is interesting but doesn't directly reduce the TTK for Lightweight Frame Sidearms like Heliocentric. TTK at base for Lightweight Sidearms is 0.67s with 4H + 1B on 10 resil and 3H + 2B on 6 resil and lower which is quite good already. Precision Instrument allows Lightweight frames to achieve a 0.67s TTK with 3H + 2B on 10 resil and 2H + 3B on 6 resil and lower, which should significantly increase ease of use. However, pairing Precision Instrument with radiant allows for a blisteringly fast 0.50s TTKs with 4H on 10 resil and the same 0.50s TTK with 3H + 1B on 4 resil and lower. Honestly, Precision Instrument has far more playability on this little pocket rocket than I originally thought, I will have to look out for the roll myself so I can toy around with it!

If you do the master version of the lost sectors, the weapons always 100% drop and they drop with 2 perks in either the 3rd or 4th column as well. So it makes finding your best loadout much easier.

Yeah Checkmate needs to go for sure. I cant fathom why they are wanting to push more modes to the center and split the player base.

I'm 100% with you on checkmate. My play time is split all over the game, but never checked out checkmate last season, it sounded interesting. I play similar to you, I like sidearms, fusions, throwing myself into the fray, my KDA be damned. I really don't like checkmate now that I've played, I've had some of my worst matches this past week. There is no room to breathe if you aren't using the meta.

I got moving target kill clip on mine, super solid sidearm. Full auto setting also really kicked lightweight sidearms into overdrive I’ve really been enjoying sidearms lately, I also have a tap the trigger desperado liminal vigil, and a Headseeker senuna that put in work. Some other good ones are the Europa sidearm, punching out, and I really like Swift verdict

I have a Redback-5si with rampage and killing wind, and it feels amazing to use in both pve and pvp. Excited because all of the good solar mods this season + anti barrier sidearm

found one of these in season of the witch and never used it, but i kept it being a sidearm lover, turns out now i love it and the one role i got was heal clip and kill clip

Heal clip + Kill clip has been one of the nastiest combo's i've ever used. Paired with Wormhusk Cowl, Precious Scars, Karnstein Armlets, and or Mechaneer's Tricksleeves for some nasty 1v1 duels.

The new lost sector farm is perfect, go get some. Good point about add blocking.

Thank to you and your long history of playing with sidearm I was tempted to try. No luck so far over the past years and now in 2023 a healclip/killclip dropped! This is a beast :) so fun to play, I really love the fast pace this kind of weapon put me in 😂

I have this with Heal Clip/Incandescent and its awesome in pve with the antibarrier sidearm

The Heal Clip with ether the Incandescent or Kill Clip rolls, both are incredible. Gun handles so good.

That range is NICE! To me range is essential on sidearms because l like to be able to engage from intermediate range. Nice shots too TV. I’ve always admired your snappy aim.

The one thing I do like about Checkmate is the slower abitlies and special ammo needing to be generated by being in the fight with a Primary first. But I agree that the TTK changes aren't necessary and do end up leading to almost every match turning out exactly how you said

I got mine the season that it first came out, I have over 12,000 kills with mine. I have heal clip and frenzy with a stability Masterwork, it's beautiful.

I’ve been waiting for your review of this gun. I’ve only had two drop for me and thank god they were both god rolls. I got the heal clip kill clip roll. And a perpetual kill clip with more range. This gun is amazing and had become a staple. I actually run radar tuner with it in comp and trials so I can easily tell where to pre aim with the kill clip and instant heal.

I got one of these with Demolitionist + Incandescent and I love it. With 100 Discipline and Incendiary grenade, it's so easy to Ignite a cluster of guardians in crucible.

I’ve had a super similar roll for a while with the only difference being extended barrel instead of hammer forged. But it’s been easily my favorite sidearm since the release of Lightfall aside from Mykel’s Reverence

This thing is good in pve as well. Nothing we havnt seen before, but im keeping around a demo/incandescent roll for when i want it.

I’ve been using this for weeks in Trials w/ a High Impact pulse. Such a nice pairing. With Heal Cip and Kill Clip, it shreds and helps me get back in the fight, even with that tiny heal. Pushing nearly 1K kills on it and I don’t see myself ever putting it down lol.

While watching this video, I looked in DIM and I had one sitting in my postmaster with enlightened action/kill clip with small bore and range masterwork. Didn't even know when it dropped.

Just recently had to restart my destiny journey cause I lost my character, but since I've been restocking my vault this has easily become my new favorite sidearm! Happy to see its getting the love it deserves😁

I only ever got one with incandescent last season, which isn’t the best for PvP, but I still loved it. Forgot that it was farmable now! Next chance I get I’m gonna be grinding for this thing for sure!

I got a roll of this very early on last season with full bore accurized rangefinder and precision instrument. Absolute banger of a roll and destroys smgs. very fun highly recommend precision instrument if you are consistent with your headshots

It's nice that we can farm for one these much more easier now but man they need to buff the legendary weapon world drop rate.

Heal clip doesn’t do much in PvP but if you use it to proc benevolent with teammates around it’s insane regeneration for abilities even with the short timer in PvP.

I managed to get one to drop last season with the Full Bore/Small Bore, Appended Mag/Flared Mag, Enlightened Action + Kill Clip roll and Range MW. I like it I even have a Precision Instrument + Demo.

I have a heal clip /kill clip from last season and it is very interesting pve gun i ise now for pvp it seems a little light to consistently kill guardians imo

I got the enlightened snd kill clip. Also heal clip and kill clip. And for pve demo and incandescent. All are fun to run. I got lucky and the last 3 weeks they dropped like crazy for me.

if you complete the lost sectors on master difficulty with platinum rewards you're guaranteed a weapon drop (and it's supposed to have multiple perk options in columns 3 or 4 if I remember right)

I love this gun my. It’s my favorite go to energy weapon in Crucible. It took over a hundred lost sectors to get the heal clip kill clip god roll but it was worth it. I did get a heal clip incandescent I like for PvE too.

I'm not a big fan of the TTK changes in checkmate, but i absolutely love the process of having to work to acquire special ammo in checkmate rather than being granted it every time you spawn. Having to work for your special ammo and getting to use it more rarely actually makes special ammo actually feel 'special'. I hope they eventually bring that mechanic over to more crucible modes just without the dumb slower ttk values.

Wow, you're as good with that sidearm as I am with a certain type of autorifle (not going to say what or everyone might try it) where it feels like your scope just magnetically snaps to their head for headshots only on a console because you just can't miss! I've tried that sidearm from the video and it is very good!

i heard that presicion instrument allows it to 4 tap guardians below 4 res i think if you hit all heads take that with a grain of salt tho

Master had a 100% drop chance, it also has the chance to drop with an extra perk in a slot. yes master is a bit longer, but having the guaranteed drop AND the possibility of another perk is huge
