I'm very impressed that that you have NOT put out videos recently... You have prioritized your workers, your business, the things that matter. Even saying you'll refund Patreons if they want it. Big respect for you. I'll keep subscribed and watch your videos whenever they come. Merry Christmas and cheers to a new year and new adventures.

Real life small business right there. I had a small carpentry business for a while, I found it really hard to balance growing enough to support a couple of staff, versus staying smaller to support myself. You sound like you're at the same intersection I was at.

I’m just getting into welding and my wife always wants something “crafty” for something... Anyway, I really appreciate the knowledge and insight in your videos. The humble sincerity in this video speaks volumes about your character, which is your customers and supporters really want/need from your business. Keep up the good work!

Nice hair cut ! We have even more in common than I thought 😂 Too bad for the firepits... Our belgian minister said we could spend time together around a firepit... We have never sold that many before ! (Well we still have many left too but we went a bit overboard...) I join you for the "Thank you customers" part ! You are wonderful ! Continue like that Richard... You're a good person and a good inspiration !

I want to honestly thank you. Long story short i lost my job welding in May due to the virus. I have a welder and generator i bought with leftover money from grants i got while taking a welding course in tech school. I tried to make my own firepit to make some side money (cutting, fitting, buying the steel). I fucked it up big time lol, but i bought a kit from you during the black friday sell. It came missing a piece, but i emailed you and you sent me another kit PLUS the missing piece. Now i have 2 firepits, one to sell and one to give to my cousin. If anyone is reading this and considering buying from this guy i will say do it. He will make sure that you get what you paid for. Thanks again!

My business is lawn care and thank God people hate mowing their own lawns let alone stepping outside of their homes. Thank God I got into a recession proof business. And I discovered a little hard work never heard anyone.
@jolson8739
@jolson8739 3 года назад
recession proof? hardly when people start losing their jobs the first thing to be is the landscaper. i closed mine down in 2008 recession. everyone body that was out of work was doing side jobs for extra cash took business away from me. so careful with that find other option to do in your business model

@@jolson8739 True I didn’t consider other situations but for my family it is always been reliable reliable source of income. We may lose customers from attrition whether it’s from Job loss, customer moving or not happy with my work. But the majority for the both of our customers I’ve always stayed with us. I’m guessing are experiencing in this this line of work depends on I know where you live. And what type of industries or in your city. We live in Northern California in the capital city. So there’s always a healthy workforce.

I know exactly what you mean about not staying in the line of work you thought you'd be in. I was an engineering professor for 4.5 years after all the academic career leading up to it, and I think leaving that job saved me from going crazy! Now I'm trying to get my own consulting business up and running while working part time at another company, and loving both things. Now all I've got to do is move out of the frozen wasteland that is Minnesota back to where I belong.
