I am not surprised to see Palmolive discontinue this wonderful shaving soap. We spoke before about Palmolive refusing to ship the soap to the USA. 320 million people in my country and the only way we could buy the soap is through third party vendors. This raised the price considerably. The cheapest price I found was $3.50 per stick. And I have seen it as high as $8.00. It's a sad day in the shaving community.
I just put my order in for a few sticks. The price is already going up since they stopped making it. Get it while you can! It’s an amazing soap and it’ll never be forgotten!
My late father always had a stick of Palmolive and a bottle of Brut on the bathroom windowsill, it was what I used when he first showed me how to shave. Now It's gone the same way as Texan Bars, Spangles and Top Deck Cider, the worlds gone mad 😂
Good evening Paul. Thank you for eulogizing the Palmolive Shave Stick. Your heartfelt words carried the sentiment we all feel at its loss. "Grief is the price we pay for love"-Colin Murray Parkes
😭😭😭 What a touching and incredible tribute to such an industry, you would think, standard! My heart felt condolences to you Paul. And every one of us who have grown up, in the shaving world, following you, knowing that Palmolive was such an integral part of your upbringing. Tonight I will toast to the 10s of thousands, possibly even millions of shaves that've been made possible thanks to this amazing, yet simple and affordable soap! Thank you Paul-molive! 😑
It's always sad to see a brand that you have known for years, go away. My grandfathers used Williams Mug Soap and I used it for 26 years straight till two years ago (2022). I just took for granted that they would always be there. I still have 8-10 pucks and I will use them on occasion for nostalgia shaves.
I have become a Paulmolive fan too! I ordered the Classic and wow, did I have a great shave. Paul, I enjoy Sunday morning coffee and watching you tell us about all the great stuff out there! I also got Arko and Ingram because of you! Great work Paul!
Nice tribute to a great shave soap. I press slivers if this stick into lather bowl, and with the right combination of water, it is some of the slickest soap I have ever used. I am glad I have 8 sticks in my shave den.
Paul, my sentiments exactly. Everytime I use it, that scent is perfect and the glide & protection unmatched. Only wish they would have also made a cologne, I would've stocked up on that as well.
Went out and bought ten today from the local Wilco. My father, my uncles and my older brothers used palmolive shaving sticks, so the smell of the lather brings back memories for me too.
My lord Paul.. It made me tear up to see your eyes tear up!! I haven't used palmolive shave sticks but this is the emotional connection I feel with Old Spice!! God bless you and take care! What is life but constant changes? Some good and many not so much! I do see it online occasionally.... But so expensive!! The end of era I guess! It will live on in your videos for sure and for a while with you too!! Cheer up mate!!
I couldn't agree with you more Paul, I have been around palmolive shaving sticks since I was little. Such a shame they are discontinued in this country. Such a great scent. Take care - Darren from Sheffield.
As a yank I have never seen Palmolive shaving soap. Over here Palmolive is known for making liquid dish soap (I think you Brits call it washing up liquid). I literally never knew they made anything except liquid dish soap.
I have messaged Palmolive in the UK to see if the shaving stick can get resold again in UK supermarkets as there is a demand. I am very surprised they discontinued the sale of the product. I really like the cream but I have never used the stick and I am not paying silly money for the stick like I am seeing on e-bay!
Paul. You gave a great tribute to the Palmolive Classic Shaving Stick. I am so impressed with this video I am wondering if you could say something at my funeral along with the music you played when I pass over to the other side. About six days ago I bought a package of 5 of those sticks and today the price is over 4 times the price. You will be able to retire along with Mrs.H to the South of France if you ever decide to sell you stock-pile of your treasured Palmolive sticks. RIP.
Can't beat parmolive I still use the shaving cream today and still use the stick I brought 2 years ago for 50p best bargain and last forever, I use it because my grandad used it his whole life and the smell is filled of memories of him
They are stopping it in the UK, other countries like Germany and Austria I think are ok, I can't show you a document, as it is not mine to share sadly, it was an email from Palmolive stating they were stopping it in the UK, due to slow sales etc.
@@PaulHFilms i wrote to palmolive here in sweden, they told me its still in production, but not sold here in stores for over 2 1/2 years...lol...and stores CAN get it, but its up to them...i got one the other day, but expencive here now abt €5...well...haha.
@@PaulHFilms Got an email myself - discontinued in the UK, still on sale in some mainland countries such as Germany. I'm down to last 5 sticks. I'll need to stock pile.
Hello Paul, I'm glad you did that video for the Palmolive stick because the funny thing is, because of the rush by wet shavers to secure hoards of these soaps mainly from Wilkos, the recent sales will probably show that this product will be one of their best sellers......... every time I go up town now, I make a bee-line straight to Wilkos and I'm not ashamed to admit it, but I clear what evers there. Usually Between 9 & 12, and I bet there's someone else doing the exact same sometime in the week, and this will carry on untill stocks are exhausted at Wilkos......
A few videos ago you had mentioned the issue with Palmolive so I went and ordered two tubes of the classic so thanks for being on top of things as usual not to mention a few more shave sticks I love them+the scent!
I feel like saying rest in peace Palmolive shave stick, but that would be just daft. It's a shame, still we've still got Arco shave stick, just as good.
What for? Either you believe it or you don't. In the meantime we'll go and buy some sticks for 75 cents in any regular supermarket. Maybe I should start selling them on eBay...
www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/palmolive-shave-stick-discontinued-in-uk-us.457313/ (I live in Austria and it's still listed and everywhere available)
I know that a lot of people love the shave stick but the palmolive cream tube is far superior in my opinion, you should all give it a try if you haven't already. However..... you can't beat the 49p palmolive shave stick value. FORTY NINE PENCE!
A great sendoff to our Pal stick. Some things just don`t make sense and this is one of them. Its my favorite soap. Theres more to this story and only Palmolive knows what it is. Probably money. You were smart stocking up. See ya later.
Paul were did you get the information about Palmolive shave stick Soap ending production, do you have a link, man that soap sure can lather and it leaves your skin soft and supple, best value for money shaving soap on the market, no doubt about that.
I was shown an email which Palmolive sent to a viewer, so can't show that myself for privacy reasons to that person.....but it confirmed they were stopping it in the UK sadly...we can only hope they change there minds at some point in the future...many thanks.
😥🤧 I'm late to Palmolive. Have one pressed into an emptied B&M tub for proper loading, the other still fresh in the foil. Enjoying the shaves so, I will use them sparingly.
For everybody living in the UK, check your local suoerdrug as they are still listing it online. Hi Paul, I would like to ask you if there is any synthetic brush you would recommend for face lathering using a shave stick. I bought a tuxedo from razorock but it has too much backbone and it is really hard to splay. I was wondering if there is any synthetic that will splay easily without having been loaded with soap previously. Cheers mate.
One of the softest synthetic brushes I own is a Plisson Synthetic by L'Occitane, not sure it's available now, or you can get any brush with a Tuxedo knot in it, they are good too...hope this helps :-)
I love that soap, since i tryed it for the first time. So are you sure they will not be making it again.? Some said before also that it would be discoed. But not true. But i bought then from ebay a pack of ten or more. So i have enough. What about palmolive the shaving cream.? Thanks for sharing Paul.
Yes, Palmolive sent an email to someone, and they shown me the document, people are getting slightly confused, they are still available in other countries like Germany, Austria I believe, but not in the UK.....The cream is another question, hopefully that will stay, not sure.
Hey Paul, are you the Palmolive distributor for your region now? Sad to see a pioneer of the shaving world let go of this product... Thanks for the coverage, Alain
Curious thing, I think this stick is never had been sold here in Portugal. At least I didn't knew it that Palmolive had this soap stick. Anyway by the comments in here it seems that all the ppl loves to use him
Paul, I believe that I read the same forum post that you did regarding Palmolive being discontinued. The person who received the message got it from UK Palmolive, but I have seen other messages saying that it will still be produced in Germany... If anyone can find out the truth, that would be you! 😀
@@NaturallyAspirated250 I honestly have no idea. They simply said that basically the sales volume was very low that didn't make sense to keep distributing in the UK. It is a shame because I love Palmolive stick. From now on, I will rely solely on Arko I guess.
Sad isn't it😕 There's none in the states that I can find in stores anyway. Amazon and eBay have listings. I've a decent supply, but the time will come. I know one guy that won't run out of it: Paul M. Olive 😁 Nice guy but a hoarder of all things shaving😉 Enjoy!
No wonder I can't find them anymore, you got all the remaining stocks for them Mr. P! Hahahaha just kidding but it is sad to see something you really enjoy and love being discontinued.
Hi Paul Hope you don't mind me messaging you. I really enjoy watch your videos on wet shaving. I commented on one recently as solobushcraft82. It was the good bye to the palmolive shave stick, I know such sad news 😔 Anyway I had an Idea of a video for you since you have the amount of followers that you do. Have you ever used the palmolive bath soap to build a lather? I tried it the other day and it wasn't to bad at all, not as good as the shave stick mind you but it does have an important Ingredient which is sodium tallowate which in the stick as well. It could be a substitute for those who missed out on the stick? Please let me know if you can make the video, for a bit of fun 😁 regards Sammy
