I wish all the young peope of today would check out the BEE GEES And all the other great bands that were huge in the 70s, WHAT A BETTER WORLD IT WOULD BE , There being ROBBED

I was too young to see the R-rated version of Saturday Night Fever when it came out in December of 1977 but in 1979 Paramount released a PG version of it on a double-bill with Grease. Even in its edited form (containing many re-shot scenes for network TV) the movie, and of course, the music, blew me away.
The saddest thing is that Maurice and Robin Gibb have both passed away so Barry is the last Bee Gee left, and is still releasing new music. Amazing that he had all those decades with his brothers, singing and writing music together, and what a legacy!
I have to say, you two are the most enjoyable “reaction video” RU-vidrs to watch. Your enthusiasm wears off on all of us old-timers who grew up with and love this music. It makes it all new to us again. All that new joy is just awesome! Thank you.
Totally agree - just love watching their reactions and takes me right back to being young and enjoying it all the first time round. What a fun time, musically, it was :)
Robin's vibrato was unmatched and Maurice was an amazing musician and good singer. I first knew them in the 60's when Robin sang many of the leads. Sadly he got shoved to the back of the bus during the disco era.
"Stayin' Alive" has to be your next one. It's arguably their most famous song. And if Amber's in the mood for a slow vibe, "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?" is one of the greatest torch songs of all time.
Arguably the greatest movie soundtrack of all time. I've been a diehard BeeGees fan for 45 years now. In addition to loving their music, I'm so grateful for Barry & Maurice's generosity, that literally helped save my life. They were major contributors for the building of the University of Miami Medical Center's Pediatric Oncology Clinic - where I battled rare childhood cancer 40 years ago. 🙂
This song is from the movie “Saturday Night Fever”. It stars John Travolta. BeeGees wrote the soundtrack and performed it. It’s another great movie reaction option.
Basically....Saturday Night Fever IS Disco and vice versa. It defined everything about the genre, from the Bee Gees music to Travolta's dance moves. Personally it's one of the top 5 movies of all time. Just watching the opening sequence when he's walking down the street should be on everyone's watch list.
The whole Bee Gees album was recorded and released before the movie filmation. Later the producers realized the music perfectly fitted in the movie, and the rest is history.
Saturday Night Fever is one of those movies they need to re-release IN THEATERS!!! Watching John Travolta walking down the street - with a can of paint? Those voices, that music over movie theater speakers was GORGEOUS!
It’s hard to overstate the popularity of The Bee Gees music and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack back in those days. They ruled the charts with their own songs as well as ones written and produced for other artists. Sadly Barry is the only brother still with us today.

Guys listen to “Guilty” by Barbara Streisand featuring Barry Gibb….tomorrow is a good day for it Female Friday. Also “Conga” by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine. Great 80s party song, lots of drums and HORNS Amber.
I danced at my high school prom, my wedding, my two daughters weddings and if God Blesses me I will dance with both my nieces and both my granddaughters at their weddings #BeeGees
You guys really need to do ‘You Should Be Dancin’. It’ll go straight on your phone. There’s a live version that everyone reacts to that they did with their younger brother Andy and he’s a mini Barry. It’s so much fun to watch. 🕺
If you’re into falsetto, you MUST listen to Reasons by Earth Wind and Fire. Phillip Bailey has one of the craziest falsettos of all time!! Also some fantastic saxophone for Amber by the great Don Myrick!
I thank God that I was a very young lady in the 70s and man, was I into the Bee Gees!!! Dancing to their music is one of my favorite memories. I had a GIANT crush on Barry and now at 64 years old, I see no reason to change my opinion of him!!
All three brothers knew how to use their head voice - however, Sir Barry Gibb was The Master of Head voices! If You continue down this rabbit hole, You'll discover that each one of these three Musical Geniuses can hold their own (brilliantly...) on any track. (Older twin brother Robin had a hauntingly beautiful voice that was truly one of a kind...). These three Legends gave us close to 50 years of Pure Magic... 💖💖💖
This was THE Disco song if you had a great dancing partner back in the day it was magical, I can’t even count how many times I danced to this one and I even won prizes in dancing competitions occasionally with my then partner Jackie, Oh to be young and fit like that again……I wish, I’m loving your reaction to this one, Thanks for bringing back some great memories.
When Saturday Night Fever hit in the late 70s, these guys literally became the biggest thing since The Beatles. The other hits off this record were Stayin Alive, More than Woman, You Shpuld Be Dancing, and How Deep is your Love.
You love falsetto got to do Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons. Big girl's don't cry, Sherry all classics! A natural high voice ( not falsetto) singer Mitch Glassi of Pentatonix
The Bee Gees were the soundtrack of my teenage years. Just a heads up, if you like falsetto voices, you should react to Leo Sayer,You Make me Feel Like Dancing, When I Need You, and quite a few others. Keep up the good work, you two are so cute!
Leo Sayer. Loved him as a kid. Haven’t thought of his songs in a long time. Some definite classics. They should also listen to Jimmy Sommerville. His solo stuff and his work with Bronski Beat and The Communards.
If you want more of their Funk and Groove listen to "Jive Talking", you'll be like why didn't we start out with this! Amazing! So many great songs! Interesting fact, the guitar groove for "Jive Talking" came about from Barry taking the taxi every morning to the studio during the recording of the album. Each trip there and back he would go over a bridge and the sound and rhythm of the tires hitting the metal, hearing that repeated every day gave him the funky guitar riff for the song. If your are interested look up the documentary "The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart", it is was on HBO, very well done.
It was while they were recording Night Fever that they discovered they could sing falsetto. The producer wanted some high note adlibs for this song, and Barry decided to give it a try... the rest is history!
My favorite is "Nights on Broadway," which is the song where Barry discovered the falsetto (in the studio). There's a great live version where Maurice does the falsetto.
Great song! Here is another bee gees song from 1967 called “To love somebody” one of the greatest songs written by the greatest band! Love you guys! Amber you look beautiful!
Love your energy! There has never been any performers like the BeeGees! Amber is so right! We used to dance to this and go to the roller rink you better believe it was playing. So glad you guys enjoy them!
Glad to see a new generation realizing Disco wasn't a joke. The music from the Bothers Gibb: Barry, Robin, Maurice, and baby brother Andy has some great falsetto and always appeals.
I remember being 17 dancing to all these Disco songs at Sir Winston Churchill Pub in Montreal, Quebec. Memories that are 48yrs later still make me smi!e. Thank You

Mr. Barry Gibb, is Awesome as well as his brothers. Which are gone but never forgotton. Mr. Robin Gibb, Mr. Maurice Gibb. Also. Andy gibb. Will Always be The Elite in singers and Song Writers. R.I.P.
The Bee Gees have an amazing band of instrumentalists playing with them on their recordings, and live with them too. The sound of their amazing voices together with the guitars, drums, vintage keyboards and synths, and sometimes horns & strings too, make quite an appealing sound! They had a dozen huge hits, easy. "Too Much Heaven" "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?" "Jive Talkin" "Stayin' Alive" "Night Fever" "You Should Be Dancing" "More Than a Woman" "Nights on Broadway" "How Deep Is Your Love?" (more)
@@mrcoldshower2823 Yeah, I danced the hustle way too many times to Night Fever not to call it Disco. But I love the early stuff too: I Gotta Get a Message To You, Words, Lonely Days, Run to Me, How Can You End a Broken Heart.
The Bee Gees never set out to make Disco. They wanted to make funky uptempo R&B. It just happened that when they started making this kind of music the rise of Disco happened. It was all timing.
one thing about this channel, it's helped me realize how much i grew up with great music and just took it for granted. this channel helped me have the true appreciation i should have always had.
I grew up listening to the Bee Gees in the '70s (my mom was a huge fan; an artist, she even drew portraits of Barry!). Love seeing Jay's enthusiasm for Barry and his brothers, the very talented Bee Gees.
Happy to hear how much you love the BeeGees! They were definitely the aoundtrack to my youth! I was a freshman in high school when the BeeGees did the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever. Such pure talent without all the auto tune and trickery that we have now. So much good music from that time…the 70’s had some great music!! Oh to be young again!!
Another vote from me for "Vehicle" by Ides Of March" As mentioned, it does have the horns. But it has a soulful lead vocal too and some super lead guitar.
Barry hardly ever disappoints. I love his falsetto. However his voice is so versatile, he can also sing rock and country. His real voice is very pleasant!!! You have not even scratched the surface of amazing Bee Gees songs!
If you like this, you should check out the Queen of Disco: Donna Summer. I’d suggest “She Works Hard For The Money,” “Hot Stuff,” and “Bad Girls.” She would be great for Female Friday!
Other great Bee Gees songs you should try if you haven't already: "Tragedy," "Jive Talkin'," "Stayin' Alive," "You Should Be Dancing," "Nights on Broadway," "More Than a Woman," "Love You Inside Out." They've had so many hits over the years...and this is just their disco era. If you want some of their hits before they went disco, try "How Do You Mend a Broken Heart," "Words," "To Love Somebody," "Massachusetts" or "I Gotta Get a Message To You." If you want some stuff after disco ended, try "The Woman in You," "Living Eyes," "One," or "Alone." There's way more hits by them than even I've named...they were massive.
Jordan: I would like to know what made you decide to explore other genres. In a way, I feel sorry that you have missed so much fantastic music as you were growing up, but I love to see your enthusiasm and excitement. It's great that you are expanding your musical sphere.
