Life too short for long RU-vid videos? Please see the ‘Interesting bits and go-to sections’ information below.
In this episode we welcome Mr Jeorge Tripps - founder of Way Huge, and director of product development for electronics across the Dunlop family of brands (that’s Dunlop, CryBaby, MXR and Way Huge). In addition to all the cool stuff that’s surfaced under those names (including the MXR Carbon Copy, Way Huge Aqua Puss and a whole bunch of other modern classics), Jeorge also did a stint at Line 6 where he was the product manager for the series of pedals that included the genre-changing DL4. Yes, the guy has some serious form!
In this video, we talk about all of the above and also get a look at a handful of new products for 2018 among the anecdotes and general TPS banter. It was an honour and pleasure to have Jeorge on the show - we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Please enjoy the video…

An interview with one of the original "man behind the curtain" wizards from the pedal world. It's no surprise that I now realize that my pedal buying has often, unknowingly followed his career path. Thanks for this guys!

Oh and I hope you plan to spend some more time with the Sugar Drive in the future. Would love to see Mick take it for a spin next to a couple of other klones (him being so attached that big silver box of his.)

Amazing to see Jeorge Tripps on here. Love all of his work. Just got to the bit about the Line 6 DL-4. Such a killer pedal and my choice for a looping device. Very intuitive as well as fun and creative to work with.

Need to tell you guys this - I’ve been playing guitar for 30 years, I love 80’s Rock and SRV style blues, bigger than life guitarist are my hero’s, I’ve always had guitars with high output humbuckers and amps with plenty of gain although I don’t crank them, I still look for that tone. Anyway I’ve been watching you guys for about 18 months and you’ve taught me I’ve been doing it all wrongs lol this time 😉, so I’ve bought a telecaster because everytime I hear a sexy gorgeous guitar tone it’s a tele, and that red tele of Dan’s is the digs danglies! And I absolutely love it! So thanks guys for steering me in the right direction. I love your show, please just carry on doing it as it is, it’s perfect 🤘😎🤘

Been a HUGE fan of the Way Huge pedals for as long as I’ve been a pedal nerd, and was honestly a little hesitant to watch this (a “don’t meet your hero’s” kinda deal) but Jeorge seems like such a nice guy! Great gear, playing, questions, everything. Keep up the brilliant work! Excited to see the new digs!

Great stuff, thank you. The DL-4 was the pedal that brought me back to guitar after a 10 year hiatus. The sounds it made (mostly by others), also had/have a massive significance. A Carbon Copy remains on my board too! Liking the variety content of TPS recently!

What an incredible education! Everytime I get to know a pedal builder through their videos I think "this guys so cool there can be no one else like him" and then I come across a different builder who's just as cool. All kinds of amazing personalities on RU-vid under the category of guitar centric music = Brian Wampler, Josh Smith, George Tripps, Dan and Mick, Lee Anderton, Rick Beato and others have a hand in co-creating this new form of personalized entertainment on RU-vid . Im spoiled and loving it. Many thank you's to all you guys = great show Dan and Mick!

Jeorge is just the man, great episode! I loved when he describe his playing as "expensive chords"! I wish you would've gotten a bit deeper into the CC Deluxe though. I was surprised to hear that there are no presets, could've sworn Bryan Kehoe said it had em in one of the NAMM demos. I'll probably still pick one up since the original is still my favorite delay.

I'm not a "delay guy" or big delay user, but the Carbon Copy is the greatest guitar stomp box in production. Amazing effect, can't say enough good things about it. Always on my board and always turned on, mainly set subtly. Perfect mod, perfect repeats, perfect amount the delay time, functions flawlessly, compact, takes a battery if you need it to... Sounds great for slapbacks, chicken pickin', big room sound... Nice, bright LEDs... Old faithful. I adore that echo box.

Jeorge Tripps is a sonic genius. On top of his work for Line6, he has had a hand in the development of some of my favorite all-time pedals: The Way Huge Aqua Puss (of course); Dunlop's Echoplex Delay (my favorite delay, and I have tried them all - the best EP3 pedal out these), and the MXR M300 Reverb - the best reverb pedal, period. Other's have more features etc, more advanced electronics, but others don't match it's sounds. Perhaps that's because Tripp's and MXR created it's sounds for the M300 from the ground up. The pedals sound beautiful. They just work.

I rediscover the Red Llama. I have both the Reissue and the Anniversary Versions (The tone knob is nice for Fender Style Amps). It does what you wish a Range Master will do, except without the noise and the RI. My Havalina Fuzz is also another go to pedal, even though I have many other fuzzes. It's plays well with other pedals, which can be an issue with a lot of Fuzzs. and the controls actually work well.

As an aside, according to the Carbon Copy Deluxe manual, you can have A & B presets and toggle them with an expression pedal, expression switch, or tap tempo switch. I just got one in the mail today, but haven't had a chance to test that out yet. So there kind of is a preset similar to how the Strymon delay pedals work.
