Nothing patriotic about it. It's like the war tax from WW2, it was supposed to be temporary, but the gov. liked all that money. Now it's the Federal income tax. The biggest "-" on your pay stub.
Gotta admit, that last one about ring at 2:14 where the hacker says "tonight you die" was hilarious. It was obviously a 15-year-old acting like the child he is and scaring people for the lulz. Serve these fools right for bringing an intrusive device into their homes and think it couldn't be turned on them. Have you morons learnt NOTHING after over a decade of nude leaks? If it's connected to the internet, it can be hacked!

It used to be within the country only. But if you understood what is happening, as SE Asia "rises"... they get a lot of our datas as well ?... Supposedly for their own financial records.. but some people actually hacks in, and film others.. And that is how come they managed to collect a LARGE collection of "white female porns"... That they then sell, via printed CDs and DVDs etc. Did you not know that is what is happening? It isn't like, this did not actually stopped... Cos so many companies and countries tried to stop it. And now, they made no items.. it seems.. Those so called Ring videos. That has a IP... addy, and I bet it uses satelite communication or other. Previously, it was the internet.. and now... Creepy ? A lot !!!
@@robyoung-pl1gq Smart tv's and appliances seem a bit of a stretch, but both Ring and Amazon were sued by the FTC for essentially spying or gathering data illegally on users.
American public need our constitutional rights, and expectation of privacy to be seriously expanded upgraded to the digital realm. To meet the intention of the bill of rights by the founders, so that government works for the people again.
Data brokering should be illegal. No one reads the terms of service that they agree to with all the products that collect data. I mean, no one would knowingly agree to have all the information that is collected put out onto the internet for the entire world to know about. But to a large degree, that is what is at stake.
The same thing goes on with Amazon Echo. These leftist totalitarian traitors are watching and listening. Everyone should pull the plugs on these spy machines. Alexa, jump into the toilet and flush.
None of this would be going on if we the people put a stop to lobbing, and Congress being paid, bought off. Another thing about Congress, is them having inside knowledge long before things happen. They enrich their families, hurt the Public. Big Tech, Pharma, Big Box store, other nations have no business influencing our Congress.
I agree , but I don't hedge on political lines. National gun registries are tyranny. As is ids to vote. Government restricting bodily autonomy for abortions and on vaccine mandates are both wrong

It seems most people in the comments go straight to saying she's bad. Did anyone see the context? Literally anyone? She's literally the first FTC chair to look into these issues and to take action. Corporations hate her. Matt Gaetz is on the same side as her in this.
Forbes is a news source that caters to the rich. Khan being antitrust makes life for their shareholders awful. They consistently go after her for no reason. I read it somewhere else, but I agree: Forbes pays for bots to make half of these comments. Like some of the comments just spew hate for no reason.
We ALL are Dems and MAGA both. Americans LOVE Kahn. FISA reform, the Patriot Act repeal, and a Digital Rights Act are in ALL of our interests. AOC and Gaetz. 🇺🇲
Congress needs to pass a law that makes personal information have value, monetary value. This would mean that people selling your personal information would be stealing from you.
The terms of service that you agreed to tell you that they collect your data in exchange for free use of their platform. They're not actually stealing it from you, but they are selling it dirt cheap.
I agree. You should also be wary of ANY device that has a mic/camera. Any device that is waiting for you to command it means it's ALWAYS listening to you....like Siri or Alexa.

A simple statute that states people each own all information about them, from their address to their product preferences and if any business wants that information a written agreement actually executed by the consumer and for which money is paid would stop this endless dissemination of personal information.
@@JamesBurks A consumer protection law can change that and make those TOS contracts of adhesion illegal and all those arbitration clauses unenforceable. The cat can be stuffed by in the bag.

Probably not. There's always a work around, as Mr Gaetz alluded to, even the FBI and DOJ are using workarounds to spy on us. Best way is to cut the cord.

You would think. But people want their stuff, and want to feel "safe". Ditch all of the things connected to the internet if you want to have any privacy at all.
Are you serious? He is being investigated for sex tracking young girls ! His best friend is in jail. Dude only wants attention. He is the most Elite there is. His Daddy paid for him to get out of his drinking and driving arrest. He doesn't care about any of us. He is a clown

From a person who thought Gaetz was just an idiot, to see his reason and law tactics towards solution even with setback allowed me to see beyond what the blue media team would have ever led me to believe about this person. I think this Forbes channel is doing really well because they are posting raw conversation, nothing edited, no talking head opinions interjecting with propaganda. Good job Forbes for being I think the only place publishing in this manner, the clips are the content, we need to develop a real aversion to the the talking-head disruptive know-only-one-thing-pundit who’s of course paid by the industry they comment on. Information is getting out by NOT-EDITING. Thank you to the other viewers here who are viewing and being observers to the conversations that are happening in government that are going to either lead our country and the entire world towards a true and just society of equals, or if we go full totalitarian elite techno structure and police state like 1984. Information will change how we behave, thank you fellow viewers for being observers to this and hopefully tuning out the established propaganda media system completely monopolized by BIG$ and the idea of Elites who rule over subjects.

I almost laughed too. All of the stuff he described is wild, it’s a normal reaction to laugh. Unlike Gaetz I guess you’re too much of a child to put aside partisanship to reach a common goal. Kudos to him and puke on you.

What about the white guy in the background laughing both the time the 87 YO case was mentioned. BTW have you ever heard of a nervous laugh. A lot of people in difficult situations act like having fun.

They are engaging in Satanic ideology. Tell the public what you do, and you can continue to carry out those actions against the public WITHOUT any karmic consequences. Out ENTIRE government does this. THAT IS WHAT THESE "HEARINGS" are!!!
The company they were talking about sells data. They sell data to the FBI. What she was saying is no different than Joe saying that people shouldn't lie on ATF background checks, or Hunter saying that drug use is a bad thing. She has NO intention of stopping the flow of data.

I’m confused about what the federal trade commission does. I assume that they oversee trade between countries. I’m not sure why they are in charge of free speech, disinformation and ring doorbells. Will search tomorrow for info
They're like the government's Better Business Bureau. So any issues with commerce mostly at the state to state level. Consumers can also file a claim with them if they have an issue with another state's vendor. They handle lots of different things at various levels from consumer to corporation.

In the face of a problem, it’s refreshing to hear someone not wax on how it needs to be solved, but rather articulate how they’ve already been on it for a year
People seem to forget everyday people were able to download programs that would allow you to view any open cams from personal devices in any part of the world, people should be more aware.
I am certainly relieved that me have Congressmen, like Mat Gaetz, and Jim Jordan, looking out for the best interest of the American People, There are our hope.
Whatever RING is or RING cameras are, they need to go. And accessing a person's personal information is a definite NO NO!!! Real Creepy. Keep the pressure on Mr. Gaetz.
I tried to tell everyone about alexa and home security cameras, basically anything, say that's linked to your phone goes through the air, all a tech savy person does it put a laptop on there passenger seat, a receiver on the dashboard and drive around near your home, place of work...the catch with elexa is, ONCE YOU SAY RECORD, IT NEVER STOPS RECORDING....
