Friends, thank you so much for all the love on the first video! This one is a little shorter as we finish off a few of the side missions around the Citadel, but learning about all the NPCs is a lot of fun. If you like watching along live, I'm live streaming the play through on Twitch 2-3 times a week - www.twitch.tv/lucyjrobyn ❤
Renegade is not necessarily being evil, it often is about playing not by the rules, not by the book. Sometimes it is about being ruthless, or evil, not so often though.
@@Trattato68 I wasn't talking about that, but the fact that a single dialogue line is not necessarily evil, sometimes it's just being rude, other times replying as paragon makes you sound like a self-righteous prig, while renegade choice just sounds more fit. The renegade path is something else. The evil choices are there I know, but you are well aware of what you're going to do
@@lucyjrobyn In my playthrough, I have been pure paragon to all good people and pure renegade to all evil people. Some conflicts can only be solved without bloodshed if Shepard uses a paragon or renegade dialog (which requires talent level proportional to the difficulty of the situation).
Your disappointment at not getting a kiss from Shi'ra was very amusing, consider... how far you can go with her if you're renegade with her🙈🙈🙈 that pod over there isn't just for show, is all I'll say haha
28:19 Lucy, the story that Anderson is telling you here is the plot of the first Mass Effect novel, which goes much more in-depth into the mission of Anderson's initially being inducted into the spectres Also, the first 3 Mass Effect novels were written by Drew Karpyshyn, who's one of the developers of the Mass Effect games
Very interested to see how this Shepard develops! I always like to recommend not caring too much about paragon/renegade and just focusing on what she would likely want to do, but obviously you can do whatever you want!
Small retrospective note 1:15 Back on eden prime Ash introduces herself as part of 212 and if you have her in team when talking to Mr Bhatia she adds extra lines about his wife missing his cooking
Piece of advice all ways check asteroid belts when you enter new systems and click on every planet too, also don’t forget to talk to all your squad mates after you complete a mission, and don’t waste money buying weapons for your squad mates you’ll get plenty as you play armor is way rarer and each race has there own that can only be worn by them and barely drops and most that does is human.
Really enjoying this playthrough so far. Your excitement about meeting characters and learning the world is infectious and gives me joy. =) I wish you luck on your platonic challenge run! It's a high difficulty task in this game to avoid romance. Lol
I wish people would stop telling you who you'll hate and who you'll like. Your opinions might differ from the popular opinions (I definitely have a couple of "hot takes" myself lol). I'm glad you're doing what feels right to you.
33:12 "Why Is It Written In Red?" The colored script is a representation of Paragon and Renegade dialogue, Paragon in blue script, and Renegade in Red script
I am really enjoying your game. I am clearly four months behind, which is good since I get to binge watch! I got hooked on your Baldur's Gate 3 game you just started. I think to be safe I better Subscribe so I can get caught up and keep up. 😃
Put points into garrus sniper ability and make him use it 90% of the time. If you use tali she should be rockin a shotgun, need shotgun points. That's long range and short range taken care of.
35:24 BTW: if you'd had Ashley in your party from the moment you met Samesh, you'd have found out that his wife served in Ashley's unit and there's all sorts of dialogue that extended to this
If you enjoy the hacking mini game, you need to have someone with tech skills in your party at all times. That could be Shepard, Kaiden, Tali or Garrus.
Renegade (red) is more of the mean and souless option, while Paragon(blue) is more like the honorable and the right way, type option, in most conversation options on the right side, the top option is paragon, bottom is Renegade , and middle is neutral, paragon and renegade options do show up on the left side of the conversation options but in colors. but im sure someone already said this though, either way, do pick to do mainly paragon or renegade, you may have to live with the end result. in my playthrough i want full on paragon, and i dont regret it, Paragon and Renegade are basically your Morality choices, what you end up with, will tell us where yours lies, have fun and choose well and live with no Regrets
@@lucyjrobyn may what ever god may be watching, have mercy in Mass effect 2 and 3 i mean im a Paragon person to the end, so idk if going Renegade would ruin the end results of things
Totally agree! Bare in mind I recorded the first 3 days of this series before posting to RU-vid, so I’ll start taking all the advice from the comments into consideration from day 4 (which comes out tomorrow)😊
@@lucyjrobyn Try the Paragon path, renegade is not as badass as it looks. Everything we do, effects the ME 3. I cant tell you enough how much paragon path helped in my more than 20 playthroughs.
The issue with Renegade is that it's inconsistent, varying from being sarcastic in joking with your friends, to being cynical, to being forceful in negotiations, to punching people in the face, to killing people for valid reasons, to killing people for dubious reasons, to killing people for no reason, to being a genocidal maniac... 😅 I've had two Paragon and two Renegade runs. My first Renegade run (my second overall), wanting to do things differently from the previous run, I decided to go full Renegade, 100%. And I hated it. I just couldn't identify with the character and felt bad about doing horrible crap. So in my second Renegade run, while still maxxing out the Renegade bar in all games, I made sure to give it more of a case to case approach, being ruthless, sure, but having standards, and not shying away from neutral or even Paragon choices, depending on the scenario. That was my favorite Shepard out of all four.
Yeah from the few Renegade options I've picked, I've often been quite surprised at what she actually does/says! I'm a little more cautious in the next few videos.
Unfortunately in this game if you want to get the greyed out choices you have to commit pretty hard to either renegade or paragon dialogue choices and actions, so you have to pick the options to give you the points on your chosen path even when you really don't want to.
37:00 I hate this guy he's so selfish. His wife who served the alliance and believed in the cause would have agreed to let the alliance study her body.
If I remember correctly, they didn’t tell him the reason why they were keeping her body? So you can understand why he’d just want her home at that point.
hmm saw someone commenting about romancing, i can say this though, you could romance someone else in Mass effect 2 (after doing a certain mission for them), but there is more options for who you can romance in mass effect 2, but you can guess which ones can be romanced for which sex of Shepard your playing as (in your case female), choose wisely. besides that tiny tiny spoiler, you can look up who is available on your own terms.
@@lucyjrobyn I'd hold off romancing until mass effect 2, considering you got way more options for male shepherd and female Shepard, (I'm still catching up on your videos) I. Would say about who your options are in mass effect 2 but I'm sure you would want to figure it out yourself (despite you can only romance after xyz)
The "keywords" in the dialog wheel are often very misleading and confusing. Shepard often says something completely different than you expect. Often the renegade-keyword sounds horrible but what she will actually say or do is quite fitting to a situation. Other times not. Usually lets players go for full paragon in their first blind playthrough. Its refreshing to see someone who goes renegade. At least when it feels right. But never make a big decision because you think "I am the ruthless Shepard, so I have to choose the renegade option" .. choose what you think is the right choice for your playthrough. :) So far you do well (I am only at episode 2.. so i am a bit behind your playlist)
Watching these videos comes close to my first playthrough, I'll watch the unedited version on twitch though. Thanks to god of gamers for giving me the sub!
Just a little comment about what you said at the end of the previous video, that you won't romance anyone in Mass Effect (while you romanced everyone in Cyberpunk). It's quite sad in my opinion, because Mass Effect did a great job for romances. PS: Glad Tali will be your best friend, she's by far my favorite ME character 😍
Dont do auto lvl up, dont be affraid to pick and invest in abilities you think are cool or usefull. By now you have problably heard ppl give feedback on getting your charm and intimidate stat up. But i would recomend you go for more charm. There are just some really nasty resolutions given to the renegade side that result in worse outcomes in coming games. The honor meeters will fill out pretty well over the game if you go around doing side quests so you should get pretty much in booth. The first "bloop" of the renegade meeter should get you the nesecary influence to tell people how you feel when needed. ALWAYs use the blue or red option. They are the charisma checks and using them gives a biig boost to your honor.
Absolutely agree she needs to stop using auto level up because it is garbage (both because you are not going to allocate enough to the speech options AND because you are never going to know what your abilities are/do) but you need to remove the spoiler from your comment. Don't understand why people feel the need to tell people how to play so that they will get the outcome they want. Let her play the game how she wants.
Thanks, the first couple of days I used auto-level because I wasn't sure what I was doing, but in my latest live stream I looked more into being specific with what I chose, I think it will work a lot better going forward!
@@SpitFir3Tornado *edit of former comment that was missinformed* The important part is to have 8 or more in one of or booth the charisma skills. And to make sure to talk to your crew. Then it should be fine to be a propper badass renagade without gettin punished by poor writing by bioware for the renagade. Im a bit testy about not letting ppl fuck up a playthrough on youtube cus i saw the viewer drop of for other ppl i edited for after certain events in their playthroughs, like a 80% drop off. However, after some reading around i found they really messed up on a cosmic scale. Playing normaly and following the pointers of investing in the speech skills and actually caring about the crew should be fine.
Its kinda frustrating that gaming were on this good/evil spectrum back then. Regedade i never though of as evil, and paragon i never saw as good. Both utilize violence, both sacrifice, both are resonable.the only difference for me is the additude of het the job done and what is the lesser of two evils.
There are mods that might be useful. Casual clothes mod, where you don't have to wear armor on the Citadel. At least, the community patches. Collection of fixes and improvements. Also additional same sex romances, and polyamorous mods that removes jealousy by the NPCs. Extra weapon, extra armor options. There are a set of improved cutscene mods called ALOV, and improved textures ALOT. ALOT can be problematic when it comes to other mods that contain textures. Also straight up Texture mods are mostly applied with a separate utility. Mass Effect Modder. The other types use a different utility. ME3Tweaks Mod Manager. All at Nexus Mods. On my video on my RU-vid page, I extensively use Mods. I play for the adventure and not for the challenge. So I tend to use Mods that make playing easier and faster. Certainly not as well edited as yours. What are you using for an editor?
@@lucyjrobyn You'll understand when romance options will start popping up. Just... as a general rule... if it looks like an insect, don't kiss it. This works in real life as much as in Mass Effect. 😅
More renegade than paragon? Oh boy, this is starting to go south. You still have time to fix it. Max out your charm points. Stop chosing the red option in conversations, and the lower option at the right part of the wheel too.
Respectfully, stop telling me what to do!😊 this is one very short video with a few of the renegade options that I found entertaining, it’s not going south don’t worry.
I really didn't find Evil-Renegade to be so interesting or provocative. I found myself making negative decisions just to see what would happen when you can just look them up on youtube. And your decisions carry over into the other 2 games so choose wisely.
