Another great video! I think you'll appreciate what happened to me the other day: I was at Target and they have the NECA Golden Girls figures. This kid, probably 10 or so, got so excited when he saw them, talking about how they could get them for his grandma and aunt for Christmas. The mom was going to send a picture to them, but he got mad and told her not to. Then he specifically said they could get Blanche for his aunt and the mom just sighed and said yeah, at which point I had to walk away for fear of busting out laughing where they could hear me. It's still cracking me up as I type this. :D

The amount of talent in acting, not just in comedy in these four leads, is probably one of the strongest sets of talent in any show.

I vaguely remember this episode from my childhood. I know the focus here is on the ladies (as well it should be) but I suddenly realized watching this that the Fox is George Hearn aka Sweeney Todd. That is one EPIC show they're putting on for those kids! I gotta go watch this episode again.

As I was watching Golden Girls these past few months this is one of my favorite episodes

Totally true about chickens being not stupid. I have three and they all have unique ways. They are Henrietta, she is the leader, Eva, she is the quiet one, and Naomi, she is the timid but also friendly. As soon as they see me they get all excited as I let them out for a bit. When I won't them to go back in, I speak to them, "time to go in now girls" and with that they start moving back towards the coop. :D

I love every episode of that show, but something about Rue McClanahan dressed as a goose, it just gets me. Or Dorothy, she makes one intimidating Turkey.

This episode was worth the anticipation for the "Thank you for coming to my TED Squawk". The Girls as birds are so endearing, it's no wonder this show has regrown in popularity: each episode feels like a warm hug.

There had already been a Disney version of *Chicken Little* as a short subject in 1943, so this fit right in. And it's interesting Rose pulled the "clap your hands" move when the Disney version of *Peter Pan* did not.

The guy who played Foxy Loxy in this was in Sweeney Todd.

I'm very happy you brought up the fact that chickens are actually really intelligent. I own alot of chickens (not for food, I assure you), and one of them has actually learned how to use the dog door and comes in to eat the cat food every morning. She never makes a mess, and always leaves once shes had her fill.

George Hearn (Frank Nann) was in two MSW episodes: Til the Last Will I Grapple With Thee and Wind Around the Tower as Jessica's friend, Sean Culhane. Rose is my favorite because she never lost her childlike spirit. One of the saddest episodes was when Sophia learns that her friend, Alvin, has Alzheimer's Disease. It's the same episode in which Blanche gives Rose's teddy bear, Fernando, (sounds like an ABBA song) to Daisy for helping out with a yard sale

Grew up loving this show, along with Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason. I have to admit though, those Golden Girls had great pairs of legs...lol

I appreciated this episode more after I became more familiar with Broadway. Foxy Loxy is played by George Hearn, a former Broadway Sweeney Todd. When Hearn lifts that knife and fork and sings about how he's going to eat the birds, I think that must be a Sweeney Todd in-joke. (Hearn also voiced the villain in "All Dogs Go to Heaven 2," which also contained a "Sweeney Todd" reference.)

This is why I loved/still love watching The Golden Girls and Murder, She Wrote: they're both examples that older age should be what you make of it and not what people expect you to.

Tony-winner George Hearn making a cameo as the director! He won a Tony for La Cage Aux Folles and is also Sweeney Todd in the filmed stage production with Angela Lansbury!

I've been watching Empty Nest, one of the Golden Girl spin-offs, and it is surprisingly good. It is all up on youtube. Also watched the DS9 episode Rivals last night, and it is a similarly silly episode. The A plot revolves around a couple of conmen trying to one-up each other, with the B plot being a tennis competition between Miles and Bashir. Brilliant episode. "You begged me to stay!" "I didn't beg you, I blackmailed you."

I loved Perry Mason from the age of 3. I would come home from kindergarten (half day), asked for lunch & sat down to watch "Mr. Mason" (what I called him).

I love how Turkey Lurkey and Goosey Lucy mirror their actresses' personalities.

I've seen every episode of this show, and no one can convince me that this isn't the best episode ever made.

I'm male, and I grew up with my Grandmother, my Mom and my sister. We ****ing loved this show. I'm 44 now and I still consider it to be the best sit-com of all time. All in the Family is a close second. "Miami, you're cuter than, an intrauterine"

Golden Girls is one of my favorite shows ever. I know this sounds weird, but it reminds me of my Dad. He worked the late shift, and I would stay up with my Mom watching Golden Girls reruns waiting for him to get home. This show brings back a lot of fond memories.

Since you brought up Bea Arthur's career in theater, I'll mention that "the Fox/director" was George Hearn, known primarily for his Broadway musicals. He also appeared on Murder, She Wrote a few times. He and Angela Lansbury played opposite each other in Broadway's Sweeney Todd.
