Unfortunately for me in Canada, I cannot enter the contest. So I guess you will have to enter in it for me 😁. I never understood why this is the case. Shouldn't it be great for Weldclass to know that people as far as Canada know of their existence? Ah well, it takes nothing out of looking at your videos. Cheers from up north.

@Jonathan_Doe_
@Jonathan_Doe_ Месяц назад
Interrupted arc MIG welds shouldn’t crack provided you keep putting the next spot on before the weld puddles fully set (it’s a bit of a finger workout on thin stuff). If you want to stitch around to spread heat, do the inch stitches in different areas, then carefully die grind a little v into the start/end of the stitches and start/end in the V overlapping the previous stitch slightly so the welds blend properly. Then do a dye pen test after sanding the welds down and ‘tig wash’ (basically just melt the crack/lapping in with the tig, without really adding filler) any faults it exposes in.

Jeff if you want to reduce the deflection on your brake remove the top blade and put some paper shims in between the blade and the press where the deflection occurs doesn't need to be much 0.2 or so just add more if needed . Hope this tip helps you in some way.
