It was so wrong of all your relatives to place the burden of guilt of your father's crime on you. Shame on all of them for treating you so badly, and they now want you in their lives once you became a success in life just so they can now use you--shameful, absolutely shameful of them. You don't owe any of them anything, don't ever let them talk you into giving in because they don't really care about you, they just want to use you. Everything you earned (education and job) you earned on your own through hard work and perseverance. It's despicable that your father tried to guilt trip you into accepting him back into your life when he's the one that killed your mother because he didn't love her. Stay strong and support only those who supported you during your darkest hours.

Brother bless your soul. This is probably the saddest story I have heard to date in 2022. Not only are you humble but wise. I'm glad you stood your ground and you didn't let anyone try to take credit for your hard earned success. This is Hmong culture at its cruelest level. Orphans are viewed as less than human in our culture even if they are our own family members. Abused, neglected, and taken advantage by your own family. Your story has a lot of anger and resentment. You may think you will not need any of those people in your life, because you made it on your own, but remember you can’t scratch your own back without help. There’s a saying we are like bamboo, the taller it grows, the more it bends. So be humble.
