Thayer's Quest Deaths 

I love the ones where he touches random pieces of the environment and then explodes. Totally classic.

Three things I like about the deaths in this game: 1. The magical transforming death hugs from monsters. 2. Random shit exploding the character unrealistically. 3. (My Favorite) The swordfight at 3:37. I could imagine the guy going like "Lets do battle" (His own magic sword kills him) "Well, OKAY........."

Now I've learnt that liquid water and hugs can be lethal.

2:48 "Don't use-- When will they learn not to use magic here?" I can practically see the guy facepalming when he says that.

Death scenes are pretty gruesome for that age of gaming, the sword turning against him was the best lol

1:02 "alright, we need a way for him to die with these rocks." "...just make him explode-" "PERFECT"

The barbarian just looked confused when Thayer’s own sword dissolved him.

I love deaths that are out of context. I want someone to make a game with multiple death scenes that are the funniest when taken out of context.

I want to say it's a tie as you can just see the guy's spear go right through his body as well (it barely sticks out of the back in one frame).

Definitely a more brutal animated game, where similar games keep it comedy or don't show details.

Finally a game where you can see the hero turning into one of the baddies, thats so freakin rare, even in dead space...

I suppose being stuck at the bridge prevents you from completing your quest, similar to the very first clip or the clip where the lizardmen get you. In each case, although you're not strictly dead, the game gives you a "You have died" screen.

It may look like an old cartoon where characters never look stupid... But then comes the deaths

That squid in the small pool of the throne room is related to the tentacle monster from Black Star.

Some of these deaths are just plain hilarious! XD

My favorite is at 0:47.

This reminds me of dragon's lair. I would of loved to try out this game.

This game strikes me as the sort of land designed by a Dungeon Master who has rigged just about every unassuming object to kill the player upon contact or interaction.

You are missing the death from the black wizard near the beginning of the game. He can weaken you and he can also kill you if already weakened.

I see you used the Halcyone version of the game. Mine was the arcade. I still have the Halcyon sys and Thayer's Quest game, but my controller is broken. :( Emulation FTW.

@bloodrunsclear Yeah, broken sword on the Wii was awesome but they took out the death scenes. I don't know why the gba version had them.
