A true game show legend is now gone. America's Oldest Teenager sure made the job look easy, but none can do a show like he did. Rest in Peace, Mr. Clark
"This is Johnny Gilbert speaking. The $100,000 Pyramid is a Bob Stewart production!" [Filmed at CBS Television City in Hollywood, CA. This program was pre-recorded.]
According to legend, Bob Cobert apparently took the score for the main riff of the original "Tuning Up" theme and turned it upside-down to get the foundation of this theme. Either way, they both slap.
Today's guests are: from #TheYoungAndTheRestless, Melody Thomas Scott, and from #Dallas, Larry Hagman! And here's your host, Dick Clark! This is Dick Clark saying, #SoLong"!
Tuning Up is funky, I'll give you that, but the funkiest game show theme of all has to be CBS's Now You See It...the legendary Quincy Jones put that one together.
i was a kid when i watched this show....no problems lovely childhood so when i watched the contestants win and this music came on @ the end i was like "thats the epitomy of winning" and this music is forever associated with that to me and i must hear it frequently
From Television City in Hollywood, this is the $100,000 Pyramid! Today's special guests are: from "Mr. Belvedere," Ilene Graff, and from "Hotel," Nathan Cook! Your host is.. Dick Clark! (From the GSN episodes that aired this week.)
The time signature seems weird, but I think it's just how it returns to the chorus on an off-beat every other time. That always weirded me out even as a kid. Thanks I guess, Bob Cobert, for making me notice.
Could also be because apparently to make this theme they literally clipped parts of the 10,000 dollar pyramids sheet music out and flipped ot upsode down (Credit to Grid17productions Game Show Reviewer)
You wouldn't believe how catchy this theme is, in my media we used it in a mock gameshow under a collaberation of gameshow themes, this one is all we sing. :L
I've tried that one for years. Too many syllables. I think this would sound better: "From The Bob Barker Studios at CBS in Hollywood, this is THE $500,000 PYRAMID!"
I am so ecstatic that I found this version of this song it is an earworm that has lived relentlessly in my head since the 80s when I was a kid and this just made my night thank you so much 🥰😍🤩
Brings back the summers of my childhood. Mom was a teacher and had it off too. Was a morning staple during the week. Thought the song was just looped but they switch it up and get funky at 3:39
Unfortunately this song is now drilled into my brain and will never be forgotten. Thanks Dan Lebatard and the entire shipping container of frightened refugees.
I had one. It caught on fire and burned to the ground in my driveway while i was asleep. I went out in the morning to go to work and found a burnt out chassis.
So catchy...heard this tune in another video as background music and had to Shazam it. Don’t know this game show but the tune is so fun and upbeat, love it!
From the Bob Barker Studio at CBS in Hollywood, this is the $1,000,000 Pyramid! Our special guests this week, celebrity chef Rachael Ray and from NCIS, Mark Harmon! And now, here's your host, Donny Osmond!
+David Davenport How about Todd Newton? He's perfect for the show. Plus, I see The $1,000,000 Pyramid being a season long tournament format. During the preliminary weeks, the top prize is $25,000 for two consecutive wins in the Winner's Circle. The contestants who have the biggest winnings move on to the semi-finals, where $100,000 can be won in the Winner's Circle. From there, four contestants return for an hour-long finale, where the top prize in the Winner's Circle is $250,000, and the two winners of those games battle it out in one final race to 21. The contestant who makes it to 21 first wins $1,000,000. Not only that, I see a syndicated run of The $100,000 Pyramid working too.
No... NOT Donny Osmond! Let us not forget the DISASTER that was 'Pyramid 2002'... aka Donny-mid! Nonono ABSOLUTELY NOT DONNY 'Im a Brady wannabee' OSMOND!
One of the most catchiest ear worms to ever exist. That and the earlier "Tuning Up" theme from The $10,000/$20,000/(Cullen-hosted) $25,000/$50,000 Pyramid from the 1970s.
