One of my all time favorites game shows and games show theme songs. I can remember sitting on my grandma's living room floor eating some corn chips and cookies. Playing with the family German Shepard dogs. Having a blast. I used to get up and dance to the theme music. Being goofy and silly. What good old times. It wa
I used to get up early and watch cartoons with my brother till he had to go to school. After that cartoons would go off and then it was game shows all morning until midday when Soap Operas would come on. Rod Roddy was the announcer for just about every single gameshow that was on in the morning. If I think back long and hard enough I can picture the old wood console tv with the two brass pull handles on the front. Such a great time growing up in the 80's like that. It actually makes me wish I could go back for just 1 summer and relive all of that again.

I see what you mean. I also remember seeing the excitement from the contestants when they've won $10,000, $25,000 or the $100,000. The celebrity players became happy as well for their contestant partners. That was fun to see, as well as seeing the contestants' families and friends come up to congratulate their loved one on their win. :) -Matt

There were lots of celebs in the L.A. Days: Patty Duke, Jamie Farr, Heidi Bohay, Nipsey Russell, Earl Holliman, Ed Begley, Jr., Henry Polic II, Joel Brooks, Clifton Davis, Ilene Graf, Mary Cadorette, JoAnne Worley, Levar Burton, Lauri Hendler, Richard Kline, Howard Morton, Nathan Cook, Audrey Landers, Anne Bloom, Abby Dalton, Dick Cavett, Stuart Damon, David Graf, Barry Jenner, Teresa Ganzel, Vicki Lawrence, Betty White, Bill Cullen, Martha Smith, Robin Riker, Susan Ruttan & Adrienne Barbeau.
T-Bone Hubbard Left off Shelley Smith - one of the best-ever to play the “Pyramid.” If I have it right, wasn’t she the only celeb (or, one of a couple) to hit the $100,000 Winner’s Circle twice?
@@steve760 if memory serves, it was occasionally used on bonus wins and commercial bumpers. It was not used as the main theme because there were clearance issues I believe.
@@paullarue2010 You're batting 1.000. In fact, his true signature, IMO, would come on both a Friday and a Saturday when would sign off on a Friday episode of Pyramid then practically use the same sign off at the end of an episode of American Bandstand.
It's 40 years since The (New) $25,000 Pyramid returned to CBS after 9 years. The original started at $10,000, then moved to ABC and then increased to $20,000.
Come on down! And that’s the bottom line, big bucks, no whammies: catchphrases Peoria, bloomington, chicago: Illinois cities The weather, traffic, news: things on tv. News, call in to win: things on the radio

I totally agree. When you have a good "Pyramid Scheme", nothing should be changed in it. Donny's was all messed up. The magic numbers are ALWAYS 7, 30 seconds, 7-11, Mystery 7, then the big ones: $10,000, $25,000 and $100,000! That's my statement!
I used to listen to this song when I finished essays in University and I was in the midst of printing them out...my way of celebrating their completion (as if I had "won" something)!

Back when I was a kid, my friends and I would play the Pyramid board game for the grand prize: 100 Grand. (It was the delicious candy bar, not cash. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth.)
Dick Clark is the King of Pyramid, the late Bill Cullen-The Dean of Game Shows did an awesome job as usual. John Davidson and Donny Osmond's had their flaws, but Osmond was a pretty good host, even though I'm not a fan of his. His version had too many strict judges and confusing rules and John Davidson was WAY out of place, the best part about the CBS 80's version of Pyramid was the AWESOME 21-21 Tiebreaker for $5000 and of course the 7-11 & Mystery 7 Bonuses as well, God Bless Bob Stewart
Johnny Gilbert is my favorite pyramid announcer one episode I saw Johnny Gilbert with the CBS eye logos curtains behind him 1 episode of the $25,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark

Daniel Miley the Clark version, at CBS was one of the best produced best constructed game shows ever. Strahan's is nice too but i would revive the 7-11 and the 21 21 bonus and ABC should have a regular season sweeps ( in November, February or May) week of Top 10 all time Winners Circle Champs either top money winners or fastest players (living winners from Clark/Cullen/Davidson and Osmond and Richards eras plus Strahans biggest winners) in a true best of the best Million Dollar Pyramid Tournament.
Just received a CD with a bunch of game show theme songs and this one was in it, unbeknownst to me. I think a good theme song can get anyone interested in a show, whether or not they knew the subject material.
Now I know they have the ABC version, but, if they can do a syndication version, and maybe CBS or an independent could pick it up, here’s how I’d picture it. From CBS television city in hollywood, this is the $100000 pyramid! Today’s special guests are: from the new hit station 19, Jaina Lee Ortiz, and from the WWE, Nia Jax! Your host is Todd Newton!
I only remember Johnny Gilbert announcing this. I don't remember Charlie O'Donnell (who worked with Dick Clark for many years), Bob Hilton or Dean Goss ever doing it. Back in the 80's and 90's whenever I watched "Pyramid" I remember only hearing Johnny.
The giant pyramid boards the music the sfx the winners circle clock the winners circle the pyramids the CBS eye logo curtains Dick Clark Johnny Gilbert everything I love on the $25,000 pyramid and the $100,000 pyramid
