China has year's worth of EVs in boneyards that no one is willing to buy. They also pulled all their government EVs off the road, along with millions of EV bikes, scooters, and cars, because they are prone to spontaneously combust and catch buildings on fire. People in America have lost beautiful houses and everything they own having a cheap Chinese e-bike.

Here’s the important part of this story that no one mentioned. You have to precondition the battery number one. Number two run the AC on high at its lowest setting. When sitting at the charging station. The car will charge with no problem. Same thing with cold temperature. The car actually tell you. Now I am talking about a Tesla. I can’t speak for any of the other ev’s.

Even when I use an off brand charger like Electrify America, my a/c works just fine in my Tesla without any changes to the settings. If I wanted to stay overnight in air conditioned comfort, no problem. You can’t do that in a gas car. Susan is needlessly smearing EVs for her own jollies.

@@MrSteeDoo Since 2005 the US electric generating capacity has increased only about 5%. Prior to 2005, the electric generating capacity increased substantially every decade. Why the slowdown? Likely due to reliance on wind and solar and shutting down fossil, nuclear and hydro generating capacity. Remember, wind and solar are intermittent generators.

Good news on the story of the Chicago Heights homeowner. After going to city hall to get it reduced and getting nothing but the runaround, he called a local Chicago TV station. They confronted the city who informed them that a mistake had been made way overvaluing hundred or thousands of properties in the area. They sent out notice via the station that all tax bills were being rebilled at a more reasonable rate, probably under $4000 for the homeowner who brought this to the station's attention. 🏁

I agree on the HOA. I once had a condo and the HOA was THE most terrible organization I have ever encountered. I personally had no problems or direct concerns, however how they handled concerns was terrible and I got out of the condo before I had any future problems.

We reserved a car in Simi Valley from Avis. We booked it several months in advance and confirmed it before our trip. When we got there, all they had were EV vehicles! We didn't know anything about an EV and wanted the Toyota Corolla we'd reserved. Finally, they found us a HUGE F 15 truck! It was difficult to drive such a big vehicle, but we had to. I'll never use Avis ever again!

There’s some good news to know about this particular car the Nissan leaf. It has a very short range to begin with so there’s no way you’re gonna go over 20,000 miles in one year. It’s not like you’re gonna hop in that thing and drive to New York and back Because every time you stop to charge it’s gonna take three hours or four hours to charge up and range might be about 186 miles when it’s brand new but that’s only if you don’t have to use the headlights or the AC so range is probably gonna be closer to about 140 no calculate if you wanna go 500 miles and you have to stop three times and charge for four hours. You’re not going anywhere so there’s no way you’re going over 20,000 miles on that lease. It’s not a problem.

All that is true, but for my 16 mile a day round-trip commute to work, where I can plug it in every day like I plug in my car, it would be ideal, and a hell of a bargain. The biggest problem people have is the practicality issue. Very few people can’t afford, or willing, to spend 50 or $100,000 or more on a car that is very limited and use in their lives. But if it’s actually $19 a month, or even $100 a month, I’ll take one in a second. Now you’re talking about a low monthly cost where I can save the miles on my gas vehicles and my F350 diesel.

Here are the deets: 2025 leaf S $80 down 126 a month but can vary depending on taxes 10k miles a year 10 cents a mile extra if you contact them 30 days before lease end and add them (25 cents if you don’t) $399 end of lease turn in (waived if you buy another Nissan)

my moms nasty neighbor had a ring camera which faced moms door and mom was on her camera every time she walked out of her house. my moms 88 and felt so helpless and vulnerable. she really hated it and even at night she was constantly watched by the neighbor. i'm so glad that woman lost the case it is an outrageous invasion of privacy when facing the opposite unit door.

Dan, I'm very happy with our 2012 Extended range Volt I bought in 2015 for $16,500. We are retired and living in Socal. It is perfect because I installed enough solar on the roof myself that provides the energy to charge the car and run the house for $700 per year. It only made sense because I installed the solar by myself. Total cost was $12,500 for a 14kw system which included a new 200amp panel. You are right about the charging range when it gets cold. We lose 3 miles per charge!

Absolutely right on the condo situation at least here in Florida. These structural assessments are jus starting to hit. As more and more hit these old buildings that are occupied by people in their 70s and 80s there will be a fire sale. I've heard of developers trying to buy out an entire ocean front property to tear down and replace with million dollar condos. Feel sorry in some ways for the owners but they've been ignoring problems for years.

My 23 year old daughter bought a Kia ev. What a mess that was. Here in Indiana. Fully charged it couldn’t run heater and drive for more then a hour AND KIA WOULD NOT TAKE 2023 less then 1000 miles on it BACK NOPE NEVER. NOW PURDUE UNIVERSITY HAS BLOCKED OFF A SECTION OF ROAD TO INSTALL A CHRGE YOUR CAR WHILE YOU DRIVE LANE. JUST HOW EXPENSIVE IS THAT GOING TO BE⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️. That’s a massive job ‼️‼️

Dan thanks for spreading awareness on homeowners insurance crisis, live in Indiana, no, fires, no hurricanes and tornadoes very minimal…insurance is going from 2k annually to 3.4K annually. Over 100 per month, property tax sizable increase as well. Insanity and super painful for those of us getting older and not making the money we use to….unsustainable for millions of us.

I have a Ring camera and live in a HOA. She should have sued the HOA first for lack of security especially being a single woman !!! That was crap. Incompetent attorney handled that case for her. ( I wanted to put up motion detector lights at my house in a different HOA. A man on the board asked me if I had a security system !!!! BS , NO WAY DID I ANSWER THAT. ) that $1000 a day was an excessive fine, she needs to counter that lawsuit some how.. Civil Rights.......I'm sick of hearing what other people think they are due. I've been a single parent for 40+ years....!!!!

124° is not a problem for my Nissan leaf it has no effect unless I use the AC but of course at 124° you can’t get in a car without using the AC and then you’re driving range is like cut in halfso you can only go 140 miles to begin with now you’ve got 70

DAN, The State of California Dept of Water Resources has bought Hundreds of Teslas for the upper management to drive, they have also installed charging stations in all DWR facilities costing the water contractors $$$$$ for the stations.. the water contractors will pass the cost of the power to charge and installation of these charging stations to the end use customer... Which is you!.. Also a whole lot on DWR employees have jumped on the EV bandwagon and are charging their privately owned EVs at work for free.... I've even seen the employees leave work at lunchtime and come back with a different EV to charge it.... Mass governmental sanctioned energy theft IMO..

A few days ago, I popped by a burger joint for lunch. As I was parking my car -- I noticed a Tesla sitting nearby where I was about to park. I suddenly had a vision of the Tesla bursting into flames which also consumed nearby cars inclusive of mine. Which this vision resulted in me finding another parking spot which was not so close to the Tesla.

@@nationsnumber1chump lol. I got bold and have chocolate chip cookies to give him from an ice chest. A few years ago, he had a special b-day in one of the worst heat waves. I got in the car at 8:30 PM feeling bad for the late start, until I realized the rest of the neighborhood was just emerging from their homes-LOL. It was a good, fun celebration. This morning I cooled my coffee with frozen blue berries (not having any ice). It was sooo good. Cheers.

I've stopped eating out, includingmy favorite pizza. I won't even eat the new fast food value menus. I get salami, ham, sandwich pepperoni, and some bread and mini sub buns. Get some lettuce, onion, tomato at local farm Market. A little mayo, olive oil/vinegar with oregano or even some mustard. I'm eating for less then 4 bucks a meal with 2 mini sub sandwiches for lunch and dinner. When the variety gets boring, I mix it up with different cold cuts like beef, turkey, chicken, bologna, pastrami, etc. Saving up and getting PMs, high velocity lead, and food storables. Probably won't hit until the election or just after, but ready if it gets bad hoping it doesn't.

My 1.6L engine pulls my little 4x4 truck way into the wilderness long time with no worries about gas stations and charging stations. There so many camping rigs, big trucks and long long trailers (like the Lucy movie) for two people, mostly. It insanity.

The cost of EV repairs and battery replacement scares me. Then there is the safety fear where if I charge an EV car overnight will it burn down the house with my family in it. Then 3rd, I'm concerned about finding a charging station while traveling. Do I have to wait for hours to get my car charged? Will the charging station be vandalized and out of order? Bottom line is they need to address these problems before I would buy an EV.

Decades ago when my girlfriends and I were antiques deale rs and we dealt with the smalls and the boys dealt with the bigs, , I thought up a pricing rule because we never knew what to charge. ..If you have two matching pewter candlesticks that are over 2 fee😅t high, heavyweight, beautiful, antiques, and there’s a great yard sale or your own antique or flea market, and put one on-one end. Three or four table spread right? And the other one on the other end. Put a nine dollar price tag on one and $90 on one. They will both sell. To different people. People buy when they have cash or money -? they need something when they have cash or a way to buy. When they don’t have any money at all, neither will sell . That’s it with pricing.

We got a spaghetti with meatball at Dennys two years ago and it was one meatball, medium sized - we shared it and we laughed and laughed and laughed. I don’t remember how much it cost because it was so funny.
