The author does like to ru-vid.comUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

Just an idea, get some nice decorative brass screws so you can leave the screw head flush with the wood and visible. Then put a couple of the same screws into the compartment door, just cut them off with a hacksaw so they don't go into the actual shelf. This will create the appearance that the door is screwed in place and immobile. Maybe even put a magnet catch inside the door in case the hinges loose the ability to hold the door closed.

Clever floating shelf! Wondering if you may consider doing a super simple, sturdy, solid wood basic book case? Tall, wide rectangular in shape? I have a wall area that's 55" x 94" {ceiling is 95"} I'd like to go almost to the ceiling with it. My cookbooks have no home they're tired of living on my floor 😴. Hopeing eventually someday you may need to build a simple bookcase like it for one of your flipped homes😀.
@TheRehabLife
@TheRehabLife Год назад
There is this video, it's not 94" tall but you could make it as tall as you need by repeating the steps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8J_Jdpth0ng.html

@@TheRehabLife Thank you & I did see/know about that Mid modern bookcase video which was great. I'm looking to make a basic 'traditional' bookcase, not mid modern. I think I've learned enough from your videos that I may attempt to construct a traditional style one on my own 📏📐🧰🔨🙂.

Hi, I love your work, love how you provide the detailed measurements and how efficiently we can get those wood cuts. Appreciate it. I have never build anything, I would like to start with your console table. I got everything that I need for the project but I am failing on those screws. I have both drills and impact driver but I am failing to find a impact driver bit for 2 &1/2 trim head nails 😢 can you please do a short video or guide how to screw such nails or selecting the right drill/driver bits. Thank you
@TheRehabLife
@TheRehabLife Год назад
Hi, thanks for following! If you bought a pack of the GRK 2 1/2" trim head screws it should come with a bit that works with your drill. If you'd like to use your impact driver specifically (which I agree saves time) it should show on the front of the box what size bit you'll need. The box I have says you'll need a T-10 star bit, which is this: amzn.to/3K2qZZ1 Hope this helps and good luck with the build!

So, you have a 1x8 and two 1x6 x 7 1/4 , let me get this straight because I am really feeling pretty stupid, the 1x8 is in fact 8 inches wide correct, and then you have two 1x6x7 1/4for the end pieces but they are cut to 1x6 x 7 1/4 then you place the 1x8 and a 1x6 x7 1/4 and screw those together and they are equal surface, how is this possible when you have a 1x8 and a 1x6 x 7 1/4

If you have the time and skills, 45 the corners and shoot dowels through at a 45 just inside the joint. I think that would add a bit of strength and "Wow" factor.
