That's cus apple overpriced Ram and storage upgrades for some reason and makes it almost impossible to upgrade since it's soldered. One of the reasons apart from being poor that I'll never get a mac
@@Zellzoi its the most overpriced. The Legion pro 7i 8th gen is literally over twice as fast for gaming. Its general performance is also around 20% faster. It also costs less than half. If you want to compare a similar price point, the Acer Predator Triton 17X is 4x as fast for gaming, has a 30 boost to its system and application performance, and 30% more battery life. Your profile is literally roblox. You are no more than 12 years old buddy, and you think you know all about laptops.
What are you even comparing? A MacBook air? Don't think you understand what MacBooks are for. They're not gaming machines. Insanely cringe you're making fun of someone else when you're ignorant yourself.
You’re not paying 4000 for just storage. Your paying for apples and arguable the worlds fastest processor while on the go and UNPLUGGED.. your paying for the spec of the chip and its raw horsepower to upgrade to a terabyte it’s only 200 bucks
@@AnalWrecker well yeah, but that doesn't cost 4000 to produce leaving you with no ram or storage. That's just not how it works. Apple prices their products with a huge tax because they can. They produce all the parts for their devices pretty much and provide the operating system so they don't really have competition when it comes to pricing on MacBooks. Still, 4000 for only 1TB of storage is daylight robbery.
@@AnalWreckerit’s actually 400 to upgrade his model with an additional terabyte. It is a laptop in a class of its own I will admit but it’s still ridiculous how much Apple charges for upgrading storage. I’ve seen this exact model on sale for 3800 at best buy and the only reason I didn’t jump on it is because I refuse to pay 4k w/tax for a top of the line laptop that’s designed for professional workloads that comes with 1 tb of un-upgradeable storage in 2024 that’s ridiculous.
I live in the US, and there is a 25% fee from Apple if the item is opened box, also in some states if the item isn’t opened there will be a 15% restocking fee.

you had no idea how these works do you? Do a comparison between a 4k windows and this Mac side by side for editing and work purposes and this thing would win it by a landslide. No offense to windows, I myself am a proud owner of a 2k rog laptop and I say this is an amazing piece of technology and had no plans of changing to a Mac anytime soon. Experience , own both first before you start talking shit and yap.
No but why did the laptop only last two years? like is that good?? 😭😭 (its not, my hp laptop is 4-5 years old and can't run more than one game at once)
Name a laptop that competes in every category. Exactly. You can't. These things will keep up with a water cooled gaming PC, while having exceptional battery life. If you want the best laptop, there is nothing to compete.
@@Abel-Harland and which darker rock are you living in? I have a stealth GS77 and it does not only have the same build quality but it performs better in any aspect while costing about $1100, mac on steroids with windows
@@redgfxr4095 Oh please. Do some research. Any Macbook with equivalent specs will cost around $300 more. While outperforming it in every way except gaming (the least important task a laptop can do). Oh. and don't even get me started on battery life, overheating, and noise. If you're a gamer... sure the MSI will be way better. Otherwise, there is NO competition for M3 Max.
Apple users pay $1500 a year for a barely upgraded phone (I say this as an iPhone user who waits 3-4 years or switches to Samsung every couple years), no shit they’re stupid enough to pay a $2k/year subscription for a scam product. 1TB for $4k, lmao, what a joke.
2 or 3 more, on top of the two already. I don’t edit videos or do anything super intensive on mine but I’ll be damned if my M1 Pro doesn’t last me through my doctorate 😂
4 grand for 1 Tb is actually pissing me off Edit: surprised by the replies but in general, if I'm paying 4k for anything tech related I'd want it to last a decade or so. Nobody and I mean nobody, especially these video creators, are gonna get even a few years of use out of 1tb. I can guarantee you they (apple) can afford to put more storage in for the same price but they won't because these people are okay with having to use external ssds for storage just to get the performance. Apple is an industry leader and innovate in wonderful ways such as the M chip. But their practices and manipulation of their loyal customers is why I wouldn't ever want to be in that ecosystem. My relatives use iPhone and everytime I use theirs it feels like I'm bogged down by apple itself and that the phone belongs to apple and we just leased it for £1,200.
Macs out perform in many different things too, webcam, audio, and you don’t need to buy a monitor since the display is great…macs will automatically out do your computer in editing, it will do better when in software, it will do worse if you game, but for working purposes, max is soo much better, I get errors ALL the time with a windows computer but zero with a mac
Even mkbhd is still using his 16 inch m1 max macbook pro from 2021. I don't think you needed to upgrade this soon. I also use an m1 pro macbook pro 14inch and it still works like brand new without any issues.
@@jamiemcnelis6879 yeah, sure, maybe the color? =)) I have one too, MKBHD still uses one, so it's a bit hard to believe that after 2 years it needed to be replaced.
@@jamiemcnelis6879 dude didn't even specify the issues, as a tech content creator he should've mentioned why it only lasts 2 years, yk, to make prospective buyers aware.
practically every tech RU-vidr has a desktop for daily video editing. the MacBooks are only used for writing when they work outstation like at ces etc.
Ah yes I’d love a windows laptop that loses 40-70%% of its performance when unplugged from power and sounds like a jet engine with a display not bright enough to edit HDR and have worse speakers and trackpad. That’s really what I want Detect the sarcasm
@@adamt5846 that’s true most high performance windows laptops have like 3-4 hour batteries and most thin and light windows laptops get around 8. That’s fine now, but not in 6 months when use has degraded it. Every laptop I ever owned (windows) lasted at most 2 years until the m1 MacBook Air Even my secondary dell xps laptops I keep have to be replaced every 12-18 months cause of battery not lasting a full day of work anymore. I had the m1 MacBook Air for 3 years and it still gets 8+ hours on a charge (it got 18 when new) I recently switched my main m1 air to an m3 max 16” due to various reasons (pretty much everything is a massive improvement from that m1 air) and I’m hoping it can last me even longer
@@rihasanatrofolo2472Because the amount of sales tax he must’ve paid could be allowed as a write off to what he’s paid in taxes already towards the government
@@rihasanatrofolo2472It’s simple. When you have a firm you need to pay taxes on all the income your firm makes but only on the amount that is profitable. Let’s say you have a taxi firm and you made 800k in a year. After all the expenses you get from car services and fuel or anything you need to pay for in that kind of business you are left with let’s say 400k profit. You need to pay taxes on that amount but you could also buy a new car for your firm so the profit would after that be 370k for instance. Basically you spend your firm money before paying taxes so that the profit would be lower so that you need to pay less in taxes.
I’ve had the 2013 MacBook Air since 2013 and it’s still working like a trooper to this day. I bought it for my software engineering degree. This man does not need a new MacBook every 2/3 years lol be humble.
Yup 💯 I bought my MacBook back in 2014 for college and it's still running 10 years later but I did upgrade to the 2022 version and it blows my 2014 out of the water. Definitely don't need a new one every 2-3 years 😂
Exactly. I have a 2013 macbook pro that I'm still using to this day. I can edit videos just fine and do it for a living. How does a macbook only last 2 years. I was shocked that my laptop lasted 5, then it's been just over 10 years now. I used to have those cheap dells that would last 2 years before some major failure. Macbooks, or at least the old ones last a long time. Only had to replace the fan.
For reference: This one he bought is the highest baseline of the M3 MacBook Pro. M3 Max, 16 Inch 16-Core CPU 40-Core GPU 16-Core Neural Engine 48GB RAM 1TB SSD The most expensive the M3 MacBook Pro that can be configured costs $7498.99 before taxes. Who tf actually has 7.5k for a laptop? I mean really? I guess I’m just broke, but I had a hard time spending about 2k on my laptop, and that’s the nicest piece of tech I’ve owned my whole life (besides my truck I guess) but 7.5k is crazy.

that shit has a battery life of an hour MAX on battery saver. If you need a workstation on the go for editing and rendering, the macbook is a no brainer and im saying this as a die hard windows fan. what apple has done with the M series macs is genuinley magic. even the basic spec MacBook airs which you can pick up for 800 dollars can outperform full workstation PCs on its battery alone.
He dident really get robbed, more like overpriced. That laptop had the most power efficient chip that can edit 4k and 8k for hours and has unified ram, which is way better than pc. I paid $140 for my 2020 Macbook Air M1. One of the usb C ports didn’t work. Replaced it for $10. I paid $175 for my iPhone 13 pro max. The back glass is cracked. Both Work perfectly fine. $4,000 for a laptop is a waste of money. Heck, thats almost what I paid for my car. 😂😂😂
Look up dead M1 Mac books due to dead SSDs, sadly they are not as good as they seem, and for that money you can get better business grade Laptops, as a MacBook Pro owner myself I’m disappointed by the flawed design that prevents repairs on these kind of Macbooks
The MacBook will come out in September on the M4 pro and M4 Max, and the m3 is a stump, it was printed with old technology, so to speak burying the printing line in Taiwan
The MacBook base models are top notch in my opinion I used the 2017 Pro in 2024 still perfect for everything I can’t even imagine how long the M1 Air could stay with me
Same here, buddy. I spent well over $5k for mine, but I’ve been using it for sometime now and I like it. Mine is the 16 inch version with the M3 Max chip, 2TB of storage and 128GB of memory which is definitely overkill, but I wanted it to be matching the same specs as my PC. But I believe I’m also future proofing my MacBook. Also Apples 0% financing is helping a lot. This should last me for a long time like up to 10 years probably so I’m happy about it. It’s an investment. 😊
here's a tip if it doesn't break or it doesn't lagg much, just don't buy it yet. use it for years to come. I am still using the same gaming laptop I have from 2020 lmao
I dont understand why people get macs. LCD screens (essentially, whatever apple calls it), over-priced ram and storage upgrades, and whatever that camera is. Sure the battery is good, but when 12+ hours of battery while being in use on a non-mac isn't enough, at that point you should just take your charger with you in your bag.
got the same laptop from best buy three days ago at my local best buy for $970. Apple is giving me a higher trade in value than for what I bought it for. When I saw it I chose not to buy the M2 Air. This laptop was a steal.
As an avid Apple consumer, I will never understand why people spend this much on a MacBook when you can get doubled the specs out of a PC/laptop for half the price.
