The ability to make the decision in the instant the shuttle leaves the enemy racket is something i've been training/get used too It gets harder too once i face better opponnents, because i cant predict anymore, i have to react in 0.2 secs like in this video :) Great video as always!
This is interesting, I actually did javelin throwing for years before starting badminton..! I always get compliments as well about how strong my smash is - maybe the javelin throwing mechanics helped me. It helps to have very strong hips and core to do this successfully, otherwise your upper body will just fall forwards. The whole body needs to end as one rigid line. Everything connected. Many people these days sit too often which creates much weakness in the front of the core and hips. Good to do planking and bridges. Watching back some old footage of mine, it's quite similar to this video.
Thanks for making this video. The shifting of centre of gravity from racket leg to non racket leg was not taught in the intermediate level. I was shown this technique in the advanced level. Once you understand/perform this technique, you will likely need to increase the tension of your string by about 2 lb or you may begin to hit everything out of bound.😄
Calm down. 😂 It seems to be only the young kids that work on footwork and that must be off camera. The older players, that we see in the videos, only work on their swing. It's not Full Footwork Badminton. 😅 The vast majority of people can't be bothered to work on their footwork. They want a hard smash and "trickshots". He seems to be a very good coach though. 🙏🏾He explains stuff that I wasn't taught 10 years ago.
@jaidityasingh7694 Nah, I don't mean that. His channel is "Full Swing Badminton" and the focus is on the contact point. I accept that. There are many different aspects of badminton, but he chooses to concentrate on the swing and contact point. Pretty much every person that plays badminton can follow what he does. Most people aren't athletic enough to do a split jump and push off explosively in a direction. They also don't have the willpower to practice shadow footwork drills. He probably teaches everything else off camera. Otherwise that young girl with the short hair wouldn't be so good 😏.
