Question...what do you think of rucking? Would that help burn visceral fat or would sprinting be better?

I went jogging for 10 years, 3 times a week for an hour. After listening to Dr. O'Mara, I gave up jogging and started sprinting 3 times a week for 15 mins. Now, I have more endurance and less stiffness. It shows that it's true what he says. I should add that I ride road bikes occasionally. There, the endurance shows.

If you’re going to ‘sprint’ then do sprints on the rowing machine. 300-400 metres. Full gas effort, all the benefits of HIIT sprinting without the heavy impacts of running. your ankles and knees will thank you for it. plus rowing uses more of your muscles and is more full bodied than running.

@@drizzt8965 I just turned 60 and I love adding HIIT training to my variety of exercises. Always warm up first, so I like to start by walking and jogging a little until I feel warmed up. Once warm, sprint for 20 seconds (I count my steps rather than watching a clock) and walk for 40 seconds. The idea is 20 seconds out of each minute you sprint as fast as you can, but when I'm out of shape I hold back a little until I'm back in shape. Repeat this 8 times to 10 times, so the total time spent sprinting is only 2 to 2 1/2 minutes. Always stretch after exercising, not before. You can also do this same HIIT concept with other exercises like swimming or even bicycling.

It is important for patients to know where fat goes when it is burned. Most people think it goes to the toilet. Nope. Most of it goes to the air as CO2... just wax in a candle. Hence, aerobic exercise that causes more breathing is key. And for frequent urination, elevate lycopene, reduce oxalates, drink cranberry juice, add orange/lemon zest to food (for aromatase inhibitors), and reduce sugar. The red light in sun reduces blood sugar for some reason. If you're a CEO, get rid of the vending machines that have junk food.

Agreed. We breathe out fat. Fat molecules are solidified into 3 parts water to one part solidified carbon dioxide. When the water is released the CO2 separates and is expelled by the respiratory system.

I am trying to lose my last 20 pounds and I do everything except sprint. I don't like exercise at all but I understand the importance of it so I do it daily and I will continue to do it until the day I can't. I love what he says during the last 2 minutes of this video. If you care at all about your quality of life as you age, you better do everything you can right now and that's my mindset....period!

It doesn’t have to be sprinting - just 100% all out effort for small pockets of time. Jump rope, elliptical, rowing machine - just tear it up for 60, 90 seconds…then slow pace for a minute or two, and tear it up again. Do a few cycles of that.

It’s a stationary bike that is self propelled with the resistance coming from a large fan as the lead “ wheel.” The handle bars move as well giving you a total body workout. The harder you push the handle bars and pedal the bike the more resistance you get from the fan. It’s ideal for total body conditioning. Most people use it for HIIT but it can also be used for steady state workouts. Running as fast as you can will deplete glycogen stores in the muscles faster, after which the body will mobilise glycogen stores from the liver, thus getting rid of visceral fat(at least partially) . But for people who don't do exercise, by far the best thing to do to reduce visceral fat is a low carb high fat diet combined with daily intermittent fasting (the longer the better) to slow down insulin production. Since HIIT can make you prone to injuries, low carb + fasting is your best bet. Also, you cannot outrun a bad diet (high sugar which causes visceral fat in the first place).

No, he received 1,2 million dollars to study visceral fat and how to lose it. @derrickjamieson3411
@derrickjamieson3411 10 месяцев назад
Twice a week is enough three times max. Remember to warm up properly most hamstring pulls & tears happen at either the start of the sprint or the end. 10-30sec flat out & 1min to 2mins rest & repeat for 2 to 3 cycles increasing as your fitness & strength increases, shouldn't take more than twenty minutes. Add in a couple of weight training sessions twice a week no more than half an hour one exercise to failure per body part & your sorted this type of training you won't lose muscle mass but you'll get noticeably leaner 6-12weeks, your appetite will improve so be careful but it's highly effective & highly addictive Good Luck 👍

So I get up 5x per night to pee. What do I do about. I don't want medication for the next 30 years. Running as fast as I can hurts joints and tendons way too much. I am 60+ and had my fair share of intensity injuries. I do weights and 8x 20s/10s tabatas on the bike in addition to walking an endurance riding. Combined with low carb and 16/8 fasting I lost 10% bodyweight, but I dont know how much of it was visceral fat, but one could see it on the outside.

How to get rid of excess skin without surgery after fat loss
@truthbetold2354
@truthbetold2354 10 месяцев назад
The only thing that can do this is to get your body in a state of autophagy. That's where your insulin levels go way down and your body body produces keynotes and starts to eat your own body fat. You close your eating window to 5 hrs in the morning after you wake up. No sugars, grains or lental...only vegetables dairy ( no sugar) and meats. When the body is in this state it goes through all the old skin cells and old cells in the body and flushes them out...your skin shrinks because it is being consumed from underneath. This is why you see people who have had severe malnutrition with tightened skin over their features. You can get that reaction by depriving your body of anything that it can convert to sugar and closing your eating window so that your fasting 18-20 hr a day...mostly while your sleeping.

@derrickjamieson3411

That's a tricky one, probably best to get a heart rate monitor with an alarm, 10secs of explosive HIIT would probably take you up to your upper level without difficulty but this really depends on how serious your heart condition is perhaps steady state cardio is a better option if your at risk combined with intermittent fasting if weight is an issue you really need to be on a calorie restricted diet for obvious reasons.

Why walk an hour when you can do sprints & be done in fifteen minutes with better results! I believe in minimalist training especially if your over 40yrs old with maximum results without taxing your central nervous system, allowing maximum recovery. Go to the gym Mon/wed/Fri 20mins 1 set to failure full body & two days sprinting 15mins 20sec flat out rest 1.40sec & repeat increase as your fitness increases same goes for the gym (increase the weight, not the time) Or sprint 2 days & go to the gym 2 days same rules apply but just do it most people get hung up on the minutiae, just enjoy it there's really no need to work out for hours you can but you get better results with less.

I used a heart rate monitor and was instructed in the book to run at 60-65% of my maximum heart rate for three-four days a week at a one mile slow jog or twenty minutes total time. I ran 8X100 yard sprints one day per week and after a month or so I increased it to two sprints a week. I lost 50lbs in one year.

A sprint for me is 100meters, and takes a high 11secs to 12.5 seconds... and I am spent. If I go to 200 meters, it's about 24seconds, and I am shattered to the point of being wobbly. Any more than 200 meters to me, is no longer sprinting, and to prove my point, the fastest runners in the world (with a few notable exceptions) will NOT do the 400 Meter, as it is considered the switch from anaerobic sprinting to aerobic endurance... my point is that true sprinting lasts for 15 seconds to 30 seconds max, so people doing more than that are not truly pushing themselves maximally. I welcome examples and discussions that contradict this so we can all learn. Maybe the point here is true sprinting is different from HIIT, which elevates HR into Zone 5 as well, but at a slower pace. Which one is better?

Any carb restriction will cause weight loss. Even lying in bed all day. You've got to get to the stage where fat loss isn't an issue. That's where the health gains are, imho. Don't eat any processed food, pasta or bread and don't consume vegetables, they don't digest well. You don't need fibre. Don't believe the food pyramid. It's not scientific. Red meat digests 100% in the human tract. It's the highest form of nutrition available. Switch up your diet to fish and 30% fat on a carnivore and other animal based products diet. Engage 18 hour fasting on a regular basis.

Would you have any evidence to support that opinion? Let me provide at least one line of research that suggested exactly the opposite and supports Dr O’Mara’s view. Professor Roy Taylor from Newcastle in the UK suggested exactly that in a series of studies he has done. He runs the MRI Centre in Newcastle. He observed that when morbidly obese people (who had Type 2 diabetes) had bariatric surgery, their type 2 diabetes went into remission in around 7 days. That was before they had lost any significant proportion of their excess weight. He used his MRIs and observed that the fat that previously surrounded and infiltrated their pancreas (visceral fat) had disappeared. He then did a series of studies where he put Type 2 Diabetics on a very low calorie diet for 8 weeks. A significant proportion (from memory about 50%) put their Type 2 into remission. When he did an MRI, he saw that their pancreases has also lost their visceral fat
