That’s literally impossible to react to. Flashing defensively like that is a prediction and a gamble. You might do that against high elo player who has been playing really well, seems to have experience with the champ theyre playing, you have a big shut down and you don’t wanna take A N Y chances. And btw any ult can be timed so they flash at the last millisecond.

​​@@SuperSeratonin136When panth was reworked it took me a month to realize this. I would block in the direction of his maiden when yorick was to my left somewhere in the jungle. Now knowing this mechanic, I can basically block anything as long as im facing the champ and not the projectile. Hell, I can block Karthas ult by just facing my E wherever he is on the map.

R flash, projectile path doesn't change, but champion position changes so the damage is applied.

You also have to be close enough to be able to flash past him in the first place. It's very situational, but I'd imagine it could be worth it on some champions in certain situations

@@mitzi3262 Alright, let's look at this with the thought of actually winning instead of being a KDA player. This flash trick requires pantheon to be in melee range against you, an immobile mage, and with next to no health so you can kill him. Now, why would a pantheon be in melee range against you when you massively outrange him? Because he just stunned you, got his DPS rotation off and is most likely backing up with his shield to counter any incoming retaliation damage. FIRST of all, WHY would a pantheon go in for their DPS rotation against someone where they can't get the kill while they themselves are at kill% from a single skill? Second of all, if he does do this insanely stupid move while he's 1 skill from death, you're a poke/burst mage, just wait it out. Even if he uses it as a reaction to your own dps rotation, all his skills are on cd and now only 1 of yours is, just wait out the 1.5-2.5 seconds and use your other 2 skills. Even if he gets away he has to back because, again, he did all this while 1 hit from death, just shove the wave into tower and get your own recall in. Sure you want the "free kill" but using flash offensively against a pantheon is just a horrible idea for a mage because, oops, now your only defensive mobility tool is gone against someone with a targeted dash stun. You're actually just coinflipping the enemy jungler not showing up to kill you. You're a mage, you naturally push and the panth can be devious and let you poke him in his minion wave so that you accidentally shove and are vulnerable to jungle ganks more frequently with no tools to get out of them. So it's a trick that requires the enemy panth to be in melee range against a mage while also being 1 hit from death which only a terrible panth would do to begin with, requires the mage to use their only defensive mobility option to capitalize on, and leaves said immobile mage extremely vulnerable to ganks for the next 5 minutes. It's simply a terrible option for mages to take in the matchup and skillcapped shouldn't have even shown how mages can do it because it's a coinflip. Garen is a good option to showcase it because then it's melee into melee, less likely to be spaced wrong, and garen has a defensive tool, his Q, to deal with not having flash when he does the trick. Darius is another good showcase because we all know that him getting a single kill can snowball extremely hard, he's still vulnerable to ganks, but it's Darius, he'll turn it into a 1 for 1 and still be ahead if the enemy misplays at all. It's a good trick to know, but not for no mobility mages who need their flash to survive their inevitably pushing lanes.

Vladimir can flash behind with e and this he'd still have his W up for any stuns, + and most likely still have ghost to escape ganks or just pool/play safe. Pantheon E doesnt reduce damage, completely negates damage, you can still kill jax with spells and walk out of his small E

It's because his E doesn't take into account what sort of ability he's being hit with. It just checks for the source's position relative to Pantheon
