I’m currently re-reading Clockwork Angel. TID was the first of Cassie Clare’s Shadow Hunter series I read (I picked it up on your recommendation 😸) and remains one of my favourites. I’ve only read TMI through once, and went into it knowing about ‘that’ Jace and Clary plot point and how it resolves (from the tv series actually), so it didn’t impact my reading experience as much. I think the TMI series does get better, and certainly the later books give more context to the epilogue of Clockwork Princess. In terms of rereading the whole set of books, I go back to TID and TLH more than TMI. And I have to say TDA is growing on me - not so much because of Emma and Julian (not terribly invested in them) but because of other characters like Malcolm, Kit and the rest of the Blackthorn family.

I stumbled across this video and I'm so glad you talked about City of Bones! I DNF'd around 150 pages and just couldn't get myself to pick it back up. Something about it just didn't hold my attention. Wasn't expecting that since it's so popular

I just finished reading the Clockwork Angel and have moved onto the Clockwork Prince. Like you, I wasn't able to connect with the Mortal Instruments series (I even read those first), but the Infernal Devices is so perfect! I will say, though, if you want closure for the characters in the Infernal Devices, I would recommend you stick with the Mortal Instruments until the City of Heavenly Fire, which is the last book. I don't think you'll regret it 🙂 Thanks for uploading again! Looking forward to watching more videos from you soon ❤
