My dream trailer has finally shown up in my life. The 1948 Mainline Silver Lark. It sports a 14 foot box plus tongue. That's how they measured them back in the day. Step back in time while I show you my newest addition to the collection.

What a beauty 😍 The kitchen cabinets at home have that same incised double line detail though darker to show a bit more contrast. The cabinetry was built in the 1960s by my geat grandparents out of true 3/4 and 1" red oak ply.

@@mobiltec you deserve a break , everybody needs a reset every now and then. I've been going through one myself. I'm very happy for you with the new mainline , and when you do get around to the restoration you will be light years ahead because you have already learned from alot of the pitfalls of the last mainline restoration, which I would say turned out sweet!! The part about people not cooking indoors cause the bears was very interesting to me. I've been to Yosemite and those metal bear boxes in the campground are no joke. If a bear even thinks that there is food in you camper trailer it will not stop

It was made with aluminum? Or was the aluminum added when it was switched from canvas top?

Only the top was canvas originally., I have yet to see a photo of that. Every one I've seen has the metal top. Even the one stuck in Death Valley.
