Olly lovely tractor me and my grandad had a David brown 880 selectamatic we did it up 7 years ago and I am know 13 and it will be entering my first ever ploughing match

Hi Olly. Back in 1975/76 my grandfather bought an International Harvester tractor similar to yours. I can't remember the model number but it started via a lever on the left hand side. I was approaching 16 and wanted a road legal tractor to move sheep to the market and slaughterhouse. I serviced it, gave it a coat of paint and it gave stirling service for many years. That was 44 years ago, back in South Wales.Great video, Sunday mornings are brightened up with a dose of Olly's farm here in Florida

I know full re sprays can be expensive but taking the wheels off and painting with some metal paint makes a huge difference. I did it with our ford/new Holland and it made it look great. It isn’t as good as a proper re spray but giving the wheels a touch up with a brush does make a difference

Had my 434 over 40yrs. C/W Drive-in loader and forklift on rear. We used it on building sites. Been stood last 10 years. Water leak and needs engine rebuild. Bodywork is very good. Mine originated from Achirch's in Horncastle.

My great uncle was the same, but I don't understand why people don't fix the lights on these old tractors. Lights are useful after all! Especially a working light on the back.

you should restore this tractor to it's former glory. There are many, many tractors sitting to waste, their beauty waiting to be found once again, so it would be nice to see this historic piece of metal returned to it's original state.

We have a ford 4610 as our scarper tractor and after every scraping season we washed all the shit off to keep the rust and corodment away great vid

I just found this. I used to work for a construction company who. bought a 434 new back in about 1968 F reg from Shaw agricultural of Cowbeech Nr Hailsham. The company used it on building sites with a tipping trailer to move bulky stuff around site like rolls of insulation and drain pipes ETC. It was just a handy tool for odds and ends. It was still used up until the company was dissolved in 1991 and it was in pretty good condition. On the R/H side dash there was a chrome dome like a pepper pot top inside which was a heater coil. The exhaust was black enamel finnish. By turning the key one stop anti clock and holding for about 15 seconds the coil glowed and then the key was turned a bit more anti and that was heat start. The technicians said that even in Saudi the engines like heat. Laterly the company bought a Manitou 4RM25C 4wd fork lift which was a 434 tractor running backwards with an Italian siege axle as the 4wd bit and the mast fitted where the back would have been. I went to the I.H training school in Doncaster. The tractor unit was known as the Bradford skid unit. We were taught all aspects of major component repair such as setting up crownwheeels etc. somewhere I still have all of the technical manuals for the tractor. Well worth a complete renovation. They don't make them like that now and they won't again. Simple stuff . and handy

I learned to drive on a Massey Ferguson 135. But that was over 40 years ago. Some things never change. Great vid!!

sadly Achurch & Sons is now being converted to a Costa Coffee. Maybe as we are leaving Europe, our homegrown business can have some breathing room if the government can boost the industrial areas rather than focus on services/London
