Australia's Stephanie Rice won three Gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, both in the 200- and 400-metre individual medley events as well as in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay. She won all three medals in world record times! Recording a time of 4:29.45, she reclaimed the world record from Hoff, bettering the mark by 1.67 seconds, and became the first woman to break the 4:30 mark in the 400-metre individual medley.
