Looking to add 5+ mph of Pitching Velocity? Then this video may be for you! In this video we talk about the most overlooked aspects of the pitching delivery that I call The Angled Corkscrew and The Front Leg Fulcrum. If you are not performing one, or both, of these correctly, you could be missing out (or leaking) some much needed pitching speed. Watch the full video to learn more about these 2 very important parts of the pitching delivery!

Basically to grips that move like a splitter and two grips that move like a change up but I’m struggling to try and throw it like a change up. Coach I’m 12 and throw and pitch about 5 days a week and my arm usually gets tired is that normal?
@YouGoPro
@YouGoPro 3 года назад
Depends on how much throwing you’re doing. You don’t want to throw so much that your arm gets sore, tired, or tight. And if it does, you need to recover before you throw again.

With the king of the hill, how long would you say it normally takes to become consistent pushing off? I have a workout next month after just being released my my 4th acl surgery (two on both knees) and was wanting to gain a few extra mph before. Thanks
@YouGoPro
@YouGoPro 3 года назад
It’s different for everyone but what I’ve noticed is it take only 1 “ah-ha” moment and then you get your reps in for consistency. Most guys get that “ah-ha” moment the first time on the King of the Hill ugoprobaseball.com/product/king-of-the-hill-pitchers-leg-drive-trainer/

The King of the Hill is a great device but without the training like this video it’s worthless. I remember when my son was pitching in the minors for the Royals I noticed the guys using them. Trouble was they were totally unsupervised so they were still using the wrong technique. Amazing how few D1 coaches don’t understand these techniques and players try to compensate with their arms vs their legs and core

YouGoProBaseball I’m not going to go over your “front leg fulcrum” piece at first because I’m seeing some key issues with what you’re stating in your “angled corkscrew” statement, and I want to focus on this. Now many people would love this argument: it’s new, it’s not super conventional, and it’s decently easy to understand. Although, it doesn’t maximize the use of GPE(gravitational potential energy), which is key in maximizing KE(Kinetic Energy) later for the “fulcrum” to transfer out. You see, when you state you should not hold external rotation in the back femur, you are not delaying the transfer of GPE, you’re prematurely transferring it. Now Your argument against external rotation just doesn’t make sense. This whole “gripping” the rubber with your foot thing will do nothing if your not stable with the knee and hip first; the foot is dependent on the major joints it’s attached to, not oppositely so-you have to hold external rotation before you extend into front foot strike. Finally, the whole “counter momentum” argument doesn’t make anyyyy sense. Momentum is mass* velocity, and it would be stomping on the graves of mechanical physicists to say we are countering momentum by activating our glutes in a mere baseball pitch. Now I think what you’re doing here is great: it’s new thinking, but it’s still incorrect. Consult a scientist before creating new pitching mechanics please, I really want to see baseball revolutionize, and we won’t see that happen with this verbiage throw around.
@YouGoPro
@YouGoPro 3 года назад
@@simontroll6471 you should have led with this so we could discuss but as your name suggests, I guess trolling gets you going. So I’ll play along... When did I argue against holding external rotation in the back femur? In fact, that’s what I’m promoting in this video. The only thing that differs in what I’m saying from those who also teach “this” is that the pitcher should have good mobility in order to not be “stacked” over their backside so they can maintain the angle down the mound as opposed to killing their momentum and reaching or stepping with their front leg. I also agree you should be stable with your knee and hip too. The gripping of the ground is an easy way for pitchers to understand what it feels like (I coach from my experience and try to explain the visceral feelings I had when pitching well). Try explaining GPE and KE to a young athlete and see how many can grasp what you’re talking about. Lastly, on “counter momentum”...I also agree with you 😮 maybe a better way for me to say it would be “killing momentum” or “starting momentum too late”. As a guy who’s just up there free styling off the top of my head, sometimes I don’t explain myself as well as I should. I am not a scientist. Nor do I believe I have all the answers. I’m just a guy who’s trying to share what he’s learned and experienced over time through a RU-vid video to try to help some pitchers and coaches. If you have the answers to everything pitching you should start a youtube channel or blog. Put yourself out there. Be vulnerable. But that doesn’t seem like how you roll. I don’t have time to go back and forth with trolls so I won’t be responding to any more of your comments but you are more than welcome to come on my channel and share your experience and knowledge in a video and we can talk more about it there. Come down to Central Florida anytime and come on video with me...
@simontroll6471
@simontroll6471 3 года назад
YouGoProBaseball I absolutely agree. From my perspective, I’ve dealt with a ton of conventionalism with baseball coaches and almost had an injury as a young pitcher-So that’s why I had the uncalled for reason to sound insulting. It was wrong. As to the name, I created when I was much younger. I’m not actually a troll. Just an inspired student, who wants to discover much and learn how to throw correctly, efficiently, and, as many others , FAST! I’ve watched your channel for years, and , after discovering TopVelocity and studying on my own time, applying it, becoming a better athlete, maturing, I’ve developed an approach similar to you both. As a young player, I shouldn’t of come at someone with sound experience with harsh critique.
