law runes were ABSOLUTELY 1k each in 04. i remember LAW running in world 66 for law runes and you'd sell them for 1k each that was a HUGE money maker in 04. world 66 law runecrafters were one of the first like "world tagged activities" i can remember.. the runecrafters wore full zammy robes. top and bottom and you'd trade them ESSENCE not PURE ESS, they'd give you the equivalent in law runes,run to draynor and repeat. all while sea shanty 2 was playing. i feel like world 66 law runners is a HUGE reason why sea shanty is such a nostalgic song because in 04 runescape as far as i remember you couldnt turn off the music so you were forced to listen to sea shanty 2 for hours while running law runes. but yeah 100% law runes were 1k. and running nature runes was 20k-25k a trip! EDIT: running laws and teleing camelot was PEAK magic XP training

I miss pre GE. Specifically bank sales and the market. Like runes were sold by the varrock West Bank door and clue rewards were sold north of the bank. Steel bars were sold in fally and bows were sold by fletchers in Camelot. That was peak RuneScape.

Can't talk about nats in '04 without talking about the entire industry that was "essence running". I remember interacting with entire player run companies with hundreds of employees and managerial ranks, and even boards to run them, lmfao.

My God. I spent soooo many hours when I was 10-11 years old fishing sharks in the fishing guild. I'm glad you started there. That music alone is incredibly nostalgic for me.

those zammy pages were more than 150k each my guy maybe for page 1, pages 3 and 4 often went from 250k+

Would be interesting if they released “Nostalgia Worlds” where they only have items & content from certain RuneScape time periods. Requiring to start fresh and all the monsters are old versions & items.

Dragon Spear was 1M back in the day because it was the only dragon weapon that could be equip without a quest requirement. When so many people didn't understand safe spots or quest guides, quests like Lost City were hard.

Best mkney maker back in 2004 was identifying herbs. Kept 1 of each unid in your invent of the herbs you wanted and bought unids off randoms at fally east for 1k each 😊

Seeing the brief fade-ins of the old, old looks of stuff like the wildy fence and fally walls etc hit me more with nostalgia than I expected, great video once again overall and while I only started playing in... 11 iirc, I still do remember seeing the old(er) graphics on videos and especially on RSMVs so thank you for making me remember all of that on top of the entertaining video ♥

I started playing RS during the Rubber Chicken event in 05, and am still salty to this day I couldn’t get it. I had no clue where Falador was, nor how to view the map, and I thought the Newcomer Map I bought from the general store in Varrock was the actual map. Turns out it was the most inaccurate POS ever, and I kept ending up close to the Black Knights north of Fally, but the map would show me as being in Falador.

I remember when warding was being polled and the price of bark skyrocketed, everybody was out there chopping bark assuming that itd be a big warding training method to make magic armor

I remember my friend back in 04(who had bought me an addy pl8 cuz he had just got the 32 qp for dragon slayer to get into the champs guild) suddenly vanished and was "offline" for like a year. Then one day he was suddenly on I was like woah bro haven't seen you ages you haven't been on in forever. He says "no I didn't quit, I've spent all this time runecrafting nature runes, I'm 99 runecrafting now. I'm rich, dude!" I was blown away he had d chain and like things I could only dream of lol.

What a blast from the past. Splitbark was 100-200k at the time. You were lucky to find laws as low as 750, it took hours and you had to buy over 1k runes to get those prices. Individual laws would routinely sell for 2k. What a great video

I would give anything to go back to this version of the game. This is my Runescape.

As an iron. Yes I chopped for the bark and did shades for the fine cloth. Mainly for the end goal of blood bark which is almost ahrims equivalent. Full ahrims can take a LONG time but this was more guaranteed. Got lucky and pulled the blood book and pushed rc for blood bark. Still a dope flex on my acc to this day.

The herb part absolutely sent me back in time. I spent many hour killing chaos druid in Taverly Dungeon, and then selling the unidentified herbs in Falador West bank. Seing the prices from back then, I was definitely scammed xD But I was very happy with 1k each back then

6:30 hit me on some of that goooood nostalgia remembering stepping away from the Lumbridge Castle bank and typing “buying varrock tele 5k” six times in a row when I realized i was short on runes

Man remembering the days traveling to varrok fally or lumby to sell depending on what mobs of people had spamming over their heads, sometimes taking hours or even days to offload your loot to someone for a fair price.

Dragon Sq is still the bis shield to this day. One of my fav memories from back in the day was getting my first crystal bow

You could guarantee only buying valuable unids back then too, All you'd have to do is get a stack of unids you knew what were, and fill your inventory with other junk, so you'd only have space for the trade if they were offering good herbs.

Would love a series one day Rargh where you start a fresh account and only train via 04 methods, kill 04 monsters and complete 04 quests. This episode was great, but it loses some of the magic when all the levels you have were obviously leveled using modern methods. Buying the dragon long back then was an amazing feat, but only because of the slow burn work you had to put in to train your levels high enough to use it.

I appreciate these type of vids. Always fun to see different types of throw backs.

I’m actually extremely disappointed you didn’t get the d chain…. Also some of the money making methods would have been slower and more difficult. Blue dragons was always packed and the next best option was wildly green dragons. Which were a little slower to kill because you didn’t bring bis gear and you had pkers all the time

Law runes were in fact 1k each. I remember running them from Draynor to Entrana and swapping with the guys wearing Zammy robes. Good times.

Thanks for the video. It was fun trying to remember the prices before you revealing them. I bought my first Robin Hood hat in early 2005 for 3.2mil, so not sure if it could have been as little as 1.5 a few months earlier. Other than that the prices seem quite on point. (Black d hide set with vambs sold for 35-40k btw).

I was one buying Unid herbs back then, we used to fill our invent with junk except the higher level unids, and trade 1 stack at a time. if the trade auto declined we knew it was a low level herb due to invent space. Miss that era.

I remember saving up for full saradomin which I believe was like 4.2m for the set, I think the plate alone was like 1.5m. What great memories.

We just thought people were dumb and we were scamming people. Though there was no actual scam we sold what we said for the price... it just felt dishonest. lol

I remember scamming my parents for cash to give to my friend to use his debit card because the members picture had claws and a whip or something like that, and I was very upset to learn that lvl 30 combat was not enough
