I have 99WC on osrs because magic logs were 1k ea before the GE came to OSRS. I remember buying rune sets for 180k then moving from/to seers or varrock or fally to sell them for 220k ea. I also would buy dragon skimmys on ape atol for 100k and sell them at banks for 120-140k ea. Rune arrows were 1k-1.5k ea at one point. I didnt play in 04 i started playing in 05 so my early memorys of osrs are 05-09 then early osrs. I remember when the dragon axe got released with dagonoth kings and the Daxe was 3-5m. I was cutting magic trees south of seers and back then the axe head could fly off and you had to pick up your axe head and use it on your axe handle to continue cutting. Well someones dragon axe head flew off, and they were either botting of AFK cause it spawned on the floor. I grabbed it and spent the next like 3 hours trying to buy an axe handle. I bought a axe handle for 350k..... Another old money maker i had back then was buying different color boots and gloves from the shop in canifis and selling them in F2P worlds that other wise couldnt get them for 10-20k ea there was huge margin on items that could be used in F2P but required members to get. The colored boots and gloves and trimmed armor are the 2 that come to mind
Laws were that expensive back then because with a staff of air, it was the easiest mage exp. it was one of the ONLY easy mage exp methods. so, laws were pricey.
I have an idea for a PVP! Do an auction style bidding for a monster/boss's drop table but you don't know what the monster/boss is. You'll have to figure it out on the fly and decide what items are worth bidding on and how much to spend based on what you think the monster is as the gear/food/pots progress. Then once you exhaust the drop table you fight! <3 u boys #teamrargh #teamknees
fishing sharks wasn’t exactly afk back in the day. you would get teleported/killed by a random event constantly. we used to have conversations and talk shit to pass the time 😢 those were the glory days for me
I enjoyed the video and hope you continue more. However as someone who played back in classic and active in 2004, you skipped over the clue scroll part without really showing the pain of doing them in 2004 style. The reason items were so much was because there were no plugins, guides were also scarce. You didnt mention how long it took you to complete one and the difficulties you faced doing them without a guide. Looting in the wilderness was also a great way to make money as well, but I believe pking was one of the best if not the best as well considering it was more fun and active to do, most players were very young and not many had the attention span to afk skilling activities for long.
The problem is that can be hard to convey because it’s hard to forget knowledge about the game and play exactly as it was 2004. I definitely could have talked a little more about it though
Remember when barragers would plague the wilderness line and wear "invisible robes" 100% of the time? Not 04 i dont think, i started in 06 as an idiot kid and was liberally helplessly too underdeveloped to figure out how to do the coolest stuff in the game l0l. I remember getting the dds it was a huge deal. I also got scammed and lost absolutely everything for one single grog.
@@wazup3333 an extremely obscure item, so obscure there was (if I recall correctly) no wiki entry on where a player could even obtain one. The scammers chose this item for that reason. A player befriended me and showed me hundreds of mils worth of items in a trade screen. He said "I'll trade you all of this for a grog, I need one and I have never been able to find one. Be on the lookout, if you find one let me know I'll trade you all this stuff for it." Of course I look this up and discover a barren wiki page on the item. So I went searching for a grog. Another player who was teamed with the first scammer (or was probably the same person" stalked my character and was spamming "selling ___, ___, and grog" In world 2. So I purchased the grog for proposterous gp, he said it was the rarest item in game and it was goimg to cost a lot. After i obtained it, i went to the first scammer and Said "I've got the grog" he responded "...i needed 2 grogs" then tried to get me to go buy another for the rest of my bank, and that's when I realized I was scammed lol. I was like 10, I fell for it. Turns out although a grog is extremely obscure, it's just that. It's apparently easily obtainable. Since it's such a pointless item, no one ever bothered to make much of a wiki entry on the item. (At the time). Pretty clever scam tbh when you consider most scams were swapping rune scimitar's in the trade screen with iron scimitar's lol. Or "doubling gp".
i’d give anything to go back to 2004 and start this game fresh, i remember i had no idea what i was doing, killed men in edgeville until i got just over 1k and immediately went to the desert and bought a mith scim. the simple times

Yep I would identify the ones I could as I had 47 herb for legends quest. Sell the junk make pray pots with rannars, and sell the ones I can't identify as unids
Would love a series one day Rargh where you start a fresh account and only train via 04 methods, kill 04 monsters and complete 04 quests. This episode was great, but it loses some of the magic when all the levels you have were obviously leveled using modern methods. Buying the dragon long back then was an amazing feat, but only because of the slow burn work you had to put in to train your levels high enough to use it.
