Car keys seem to be following the mobile phone trend in that we made them as small as possible at first to show what we could do and then they got bigger and bigger again. I'd guess from experience of owning tiny phones and keys that it's because the bigger ones are harder to drop / lose. The phone connectivity thing doesn't annoy me but I'm confused by it. Multiple manufacturers support Android and Apple easily so I'm not sure why BMW choose to ignore almost exactly 50% of the market. I know plenty of rich people who prefer Android. I have a 360 camera in my car and 90% of the time it's of no use but parking in tight spaces like an underground garage makes it a brilliant thing.
It's about time someone came up with the idea to release the hood by pulling the lever twice. Much easier then releasing the hood then feel around under the edge if the hood for the safety release. Very smart BMW.
I have the same engine/gearbox combination in my 2019 BMW M240i Convertible and it is really heavenly. The car encompasses everything a 3 series should. It's a true successor to the E30 in that regard. The SUV Shape in this X3 is a neccesary evil, but the drivetrain truly shines.

Great video Bill! I agree this segment is so overrated and getting very crowded at this point, but that engine is sweet and it would be reason enough to love this thing as a daily driver. I am so pleased that you are a dog lover also. They really are God’s gift to mankind and make our time on this earth so much better. I miss my beautiful Welsh Terrier (Spencer) so much. DC Williams I’ve had a 335 coupe, X5, 545 and a z4. All started warping interior and engine leaked oil left and right. Half of the engine is made of plastic. Unless you’ve got experience with that many bmw and seen a different pattern then I’d beg to differ. I’m certain Bill would agree with me on this topic!

So the producer stick to the series coding wich they once patented in a row without paying millions for license fees. BTW, this car is made in the US - BMW factory Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Your is 2019 ok not 2018. M40i and x3 on bottom is from 2019 and upper is 2018 ok. Anyway it is a rocket happy and smile myself every time I get off my work going up ramp to fryway feel flying I didn't regret after switch from X5 2018 not be compared to this at all
