@8:13 I cringe when people say “ this is the same engine from the Lamborghini.” When in fact, Lamborghini uses Audi’s engines on the Huracan and Urus. The only current true Lamborghini engine is on the Aventador.
AJ Lee unfortunately you’re wrong. It’s okay to say it’s the same engine from the Lamborghini only because it literally is. Audi doesn’t produce any engines lol both makers’ engines are made by VW so technically Audi has no current ‘true’ engine if you may
The engine in the Urus is from a Porsche Panamera. Lamborghini took many things from all brands of VW, rear axle and air suspension are from the bentley bentayga, plattform and most of dashboard are from an SQ7, so yes, its Audi, they used Audi parts, but not the engine... the engine is based on a Audi, but its a Porsche engine.
Yj Paperboy1, do you really think I don’t know that VW owns these two brands? In fact we’re all wrong. After doing some research, I found that this engine was actually developed for Porsche. It was first put in the Cayenne, and later the Urus and S8. Surprising, because usually most engines are made for Audi’s and then shared with Bentley, Lamborghini, etc.
I'd argue that a Merc S Class or even a 7 Series is also pretty stealthy. They blend right in with the sea of black, sliver and white Audi A4's and Hyundai Sonata's you see everywhere
@@goldengod5915 well, for me, seeing a 2020 7 series or Merc S class coming at me, I'd definitely notice those, but this, just looks like something you would somewhat overlook, because it just doesn't have that commanding of a demeanor like the other two. I get your point still, but this just looks like something people would overlook compared to the other two, and that's what raises it's allure for me.
This car is not worth the money. It looks no different than an A4. If you don't want people knowing how much money you spent, then this is the car for you. But for this price there's no way I'd get a car that looks like it's $35k little sister
Nowadays they made the C class look too much like an S class and people get then confused. But it still looks much better than this wet towel of an exterior
Awesome video .guys. I still remember when I was at the European press launch of this car last year in Spain. I was driving and pushing it hard in the roads outside Barcelona and it's amazing how a huge car like this, handles like an RS3. Amazed by the adaptive suspension and four wheel steering. Cheers
There's a special package for Audi A8 / S8 where the back seat tray also allows you to extend legs BUT it is heats up and massages your feet, that feature does not exist on BMW or Merc :) this makes it better than both
I used to be a preproduction test driver for Porsche and Audi and the S8 remains one of the best cars I’ve ever driven. It just does everything so well. Looks handsome, feels formidable, sounds menacing, rides like a dream. It’s just incredible.
Great review! I don’t think the A8 gets as much attention as it should. Friend of mine got an ‘06 4.2 for $900 and fixed it. Very far ahead of its time, still felt modern. Not to mention the classic S8 V10 and W12 versions which are SO cool.
9:54 - if you're experiencing issues with your T.V., either return it for a new one or file a warranty claim. LG OLED TVs are their super premium, highest end TV and they should absolutely fix it for you.
@@patteyh Was driving a 07 A6 4.2..... but its spending a week getting its timing chains fix. Dont have experience, but read this very common on these engines?
I actually prefer the open pore wood inlets (Ash Gray Brown on the A6-A8) vs the glossy carbon fiber inlets. And yes, I get it’s an S8 so they’re trying to make it “sportier”, but I still think the wood inlays are stunning and makes the car look “warmer” and more luxurious in my opinion.
I got a 2020 Audi S8 four weeks ago. My last car was a 2018 BMW 750 and I an a big BMW fan. Now that I have had some time to live with this car I can say it does everything better than the BMW. This might be the best car I have ever owned.
I imagine they pre-cleared the roadway for the shot, asking that guy to park for a bit, and directed him to perform the goofy bowing. Very funny. Either that or he was part of the production crew.
About the Audi exhaust tips... RS have always been dual exhaust single-large-ovals and S versions have always been a dual exhaust double-ovals. Great review guys!
If you’re trying to fix audio lag on an LG tv, look into getting a surround sound processor that allows you to set audio or video delay so you can sync the two. I believe those from Emotiva can do this as well as Rotel.
@@Sickwitit18 the C8 RS7 isn't available in North America yet. That's the car to carry more stuff. The S8 is for carrying people, even though its trunk is pretty big.
@@snakeeyes9246 yeah the S8 can definitely fit full sized adults in the back better than the RS7. But if they're just kids and you wanna keep some sportiness and beautiful looks from the R8 it's a good choice! At least until they become teenagers haha if they're tall
This! Is a 2020 Audi S8 and I'm gonna go through all of its gimmicks and features, then I'm gonna take it out on the road, and finally, I'm gonna give it a straight pipe score
I used to joke "look out Doug, here they come" but now it's not a joke! You guys are crushing it!! Best cars first, and you are excited to drive them. That energy transfers to us, the viewers. Better Hussle Up Doug, they're gunning for you 🙂
For me S-Class is the best in this class overall...Amazing exterior and the best interior so far...If I had the money I would go for the Mercedes Hands down!
I’m a technologist at Audi, it’s called a key user code that comes with the spare key. After purchase the Audi connect 6 month subscription is activated via tablet then you must enter the vehicle and add the key user code into the MMI which activates the SIM card inside that allows for WiFi.
5:38 The Audi A8 also has the 4 Seat option, with the continous console. It also has the option with the tables and the front passenger seat folding away and massaging your feet, with heating.
Your review must be in details with comparison with BMW 7 series following points. You may hv cover some of these. 1. Blind spot indicator for overtake 2. All / 4 wheel drive 3. 5 spoke mac wheels 4. Remote control parking. 5. Auto parking facility 6. Adaptive cruise control with automatic gearbox can stop car 7. Auto wiper sensor 8. Front headlight washer 9. Side mirror Anti fog system 10. I normally don't like Audi's, my German Car rankings are Benz, BMW, Audi. But lately Audi has been doing really nice cars. Understated but nice. However MBUX is just next level and I love the new Mercs.
S8 always reminds me of the movie Ronin. What you guys said is so true.. I'm in my mid 40's.. this car is absolutely beautiful in my eyes. 'Just flashy enough'.
My Genesis G80 3.3T and I are so happy that you keep bringing up Genesis when comparing to the big German brands! The S8 is easily my favorite of all of them, until we see a faster G90.
@@trewebster5884 ikr... Glad to know that other ppl noticed it too. Not sure if there's an issue with this particular unit or if that's the original sound signature of the car.
my 1996 LS 400 has light up seatbelt "receptacles" for the front passengers. It doesn't look as fancy as the Audi's but its great to see someone is still doing it @ 13:34
I’ve noticed a lot of automotive journalists downplay the perks of having screens in the back because people have their own phones/tablets, but I would always prefer to look straight ahead than look down in my hands/lap. After a while, my neck has had enough.
A) Audi is known for being understated. That's always been the case. They are more understated, particularly with the 8-series (A8/L and S8) as those are the luxo, business barge. Comfortable, quiet with all the technology and intentionally more understated than BMW or MB while still performing alongside their equivalents. B) The "first: S8 was the D2 (4.2L NA V8) not the D3 with the 5.2L V10. C) There is a S8 Performance coming like usual but no RS8s. That said there is an RSQ8 SUV but that's obviously more akin to the Urus.
