The 2020 Kawasaki KRX 1000 is like an off-road sports car | Driving.ca

The KRX 1000 is Kawasaki’s top-dog side-by-side. It’s an off-road athlete that comes kitted up with some of the very best hardware in its universe, and it looks like the Warthog from Halo 2. There’s big ground clearance, and special placement and protection for vital components to protect them from the terrain beneath. My tester came with rock rails, mud tires, front diff lock, and even a snorkel kit that allows it to drive through chest-deep water.
It's all powered by a 999-cc engine, which sits just ahead of the rear axle. It sends 112 horsepower to the ground, while towering Fox Shocks at each corner provide precision damping control across a massive amount of suspension travel. With these ingredients as the basis of its recipe, KRX 1000 serves up huge confidence, consistent ride comfort on challenging terrain, and sharp, eager, almost dramatic responses to its operator inputs.
So, it's a machine built and equipped for the shopper who wants to go all out. It's for someone after the top-performing side-by-side from their favorite brand, a new toy, or a new tool, that’ll help them connect with new places, new hobbies, and new experiences. And it’s all dialed in to keep you grinning, every step of the way. The Kawasaki KRX 1000 intends to be your all-access pass to any outdoor adventure you’ve got in mind.

Great video! Was about to skip it when I saw it was more of a mellow, less balls to the wall video, but the great cinematography kept me until the end.

Great video. Would have been better if you listed the price for that model.

Perfect example of why children shouldn't be allowed to access their parents phone.

20k in some places. I paid 16k out the door in Salem Illinois in the spring. When the world was afraid to leave their house & the KRX was less known.

@Matt Taylor Sorry man. But yeah the secret is out. A buddy at work, actually found them on Facebook market place , in another state. I didn't pay tax because I paid cash. (No title but still). But yes man, badass. People are putting aftermarket upgrades on their sxs's and the KRX comes that way. It's insane. As soon as I seen 1, I knew that was it. The dimensions of everything is insane. My only gripe is how you can drop from full tank to 1/2 on the fuel tank gauge but oh well.

@Matt Taylor No problem. And sounds good. It seems you realized what I realized. A lot of great machines are out there. My opinion , the "right machine", is knowing how you yourself drive & where. I said that , to say this, I don't have the geography for above 60 mph much, without getting on roads. (Tennessee tight woods). That being said, KRX IS PERFECT!! Obviously the power & lower gearing is perfect for hills, creeks & damn near everything you will generally encounter. As long as you're not trying to follow a modified jeep, bouncer or fabricated truck. I have all the underbody protection & would recommend it. Even over the existing metal plates. Makes it a tank. Because the size & power will push you to go everywhere. Kawasaki's stuff is good but not the front a arm guards . Too thin. Side by side stuff.com offers a ultra thick set I'm happy with. I'm happy with the 31's might would go 32's in the future , if cheaper? Idk. Several places around here & like Brimstone in East tn don't allow bigger vehicles now. So the KRX is pushing those limits already. I've hammered it pretty decent & have had no issues. Even big gouges on wheels & some solid hits underneath from some big rocks here and just no issues really. A good set of rear a arm guards is all I'm waiting on at this point. I'd recommend the 6000lb winch from Superatv. My smaller 1 didn't cut it. The wiring is a slight pain (because of the diameter) but it will work out.
