Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a safe and fun 4th of July weekend! This week we are testing the 2021 RAV4 Prime, expect that video to post by the end of this week! Mazda is also unveiling the US market 2021 Mazda3 Turbo tomorrow morning! Stay tuned for a "First Look" video on that as well. Stay safe everyone!

Leaks say that it will be the same turbo as from this car. 220hp and 310 lb and will be AWD standard with black 18 inch wheels. On a small light 3 hatch this should be incredible going from 180 180.

I’ve watched every one of your videos for the past 4-5 years and this video style is just NOT as good. You go from the driving to the exterior to driving to interior and back to driving. It’s just disorganized and not as good as before. PLEASE consider changing it. I liked when you did a first person view like when you showed the key fob, interior, etc. I thumbs up every one of your videos though.

I have a Mazda6 Signature identical to the one in this video. I dropped it off for maintenance at my local Mazda dealer and they gave me a fusion to drive since I didn't have time to wait on it. It was annoying to have to lean from the seat to touch the screen. My arm rests perfectly near the dial to control everything.

Nice to see that this car still holds its own even after the last couple years! I rarely seen any on the road even after these 2 years which I actually prefer... I have had my Mazda6 for 2 years now and my only complaint was their choice of tires. These All Season tires really hold the car back!! Once they began to wear down they were better but the car needs more grip so that it can put the power down! It has been fun and the car has only had premium fuel (occasionally I mix in some 100octane just for the hell of it) and on trips have gotten up to 35mpg but still had gobs of power for passing etc! Its super comfy and I am glad to have gotten it! I waited a long time to get a car that was comparable to my 2006 Mazdaspeed6 but AWD with a manual is really needed to really do that! Its probably just as fast but the gas mileage is significantly better even in the city. I am averaging about 24mpg in the city. pretty much inline with the sticker. Getting some new tires installed tomorrow and they are a much more aggressive design that should wake the car up pretty good!

The ventilated seats in the Mazda6 actually 'suck' air through them instead of 'blowing' air out of them like most other cars. They are definitely more effective than many others I have experienced. Must be because it helps draw the heat/moisture away from you instead of just blowing on you relying completely on evaporative cooling. Plus it also appears to suck some of the cool air from the front vents around your sides to your back before being 'sucked' in to the seat which would be cooler than the air some other systems have inside their seat before 'blowing' on you.

I think Mazda is correct in NOT putting touch screens in their cars. I do agree they could upgrade the camera but otherwise the central control panel becomes super intuitive and easy once you use it for a awhile. The truth of the mater is that you will only be doing a few basic functions when driving. Select a song, toggle back to Waze, or pick a pod cast and toggle back, volume, answer/hangup a call, read a text, etc. You'll find that the upward position of the screen is perfect for driving and keeps your eyes on the road while the button controls on the center console become supper intuitive and easy with a little practice. For instance, you can use the back button to toggle back to your last field with ease. You can get to most any function in under three button hits and then back in one more. All without looking away from the road. You don't need a touch screen for any of this and using a touchscreen while driving is very dangerous since its not tactile so you HAVE to look at it to use it. The voice controls are more then adequate to make a phone call or pull up a preset location on Waze or Google Maps. If you need to type in an address or search for things beyond the button controls efficiencies then you should pull over anyway. The way Mazda is doing it is safe, super intuitive and efficient and once you learn it is actually one of the best ones I've used. (comparing to Ford, GM, BMW Mini, Merc, Hyundai)

My 2016 Mazda 6 has 70k miles and has gone through 4 OEM batteries, valve cover gasket is leaking, hydronic belt tensioner is leaking, had a misfire and had to replace a leaking fuel injector, brakes wear out fast and front rotors warp extremely quick. I wouldn't call that great reliability so far.

i think your opinion on the infotainment system is completely backwards, the scroll wheel is much better than anything out there right now. it is a touch screen fyi it just doesnt work in carplay and if it did you would always have so many finger prints on the display that during the day you wouldnt be able to see a thing

I do miss my LED Fogs from my 2017 Mazda 6 GT, it would have been nice if the chrome strips on the lower front bumper were LED fogs like the Accord. Headlights work great though, Bose sound system, interior and engine refinement has impressed my friends who have a Lexus. Yes it only has a 6 speed but I haven't had a recall or issues unlike the Toyota 8 speed & Honda 10 speed & I am still beating my fuel economy sticker by 1-3L/100kms depending on conditions. When I was car shopping months back this Mazda6 Signature was one of my top choices. I test drove it at a local auto show, and here’s my thoughts: Exterior and interior - unquestionably beautiful with the real wood trim and Napa leather and blingy exterior - great value - comfortable seats But that’s pretty much the only pros end and the cons start - Poor ergonomics - I hate the touchscreen lockout when in motion - the 360 camera is atrocious - poor interior space - poor trunk space - limited configuration of the instrument cluster - handling didn’t feel much different than other sedans I test drove.

I had the same thoughts after I went to check it out too. Honestly, I was excited to experience the steering feel and handling that people praised this car for but it just felt like the average Japanese sedan. Maybe 5 years ago it was the best in it's class, but for now I actually prefer the handling and steering feel of the 10th gen Honda Accord over the Mazda6.
@naveenthemachine

Dà wèi Chan i also drove a Camry XSE v6 for comparison. Somehow the steering felt a tad heavier in it than the Mazda. The Camry somehow impressed me more than I thought vs the Mazda6. After watching these videos on the accord, Camry and Mazda6, I had this expectation that the accord was world class in all areas. I also test drove an accord at a local auto show and I have to say I was rather disappointed. Handling didn’t really feel world class to me. Nor was the ride. It was rather loud inside. I don’t like the push button shifter. The stereo was awful. I didn’t care for the turbo 4 cyl noise. Some tech like the HUD wasn’t my cup of tea. The seating position was low for me. Positives: The infotainment was good; the seats were comfortable.

Big thing for me right now is compared to nearly all car manufacturers now, they did not switch to a CVT. Especially since apparently the majority of brands using CVT's that seem to be problematic are using ones from JATCO, and there's only 2 or 3 I think that don't for their CVT's. On another note I'm going to disagree on the touch screen. I find touch interfaces obnoxious in cars, look at Cadi's excessive touch everything for their screen and normal climate control panel, always have to look away from the road to see you're hitting just the right spot, more defined buttons work better in my opinion. Anything that keeps eyes on the road more for a driver is best I think.

I named mine Reyna because of the way she handled in the rain! The stock OEM tires held the car back and once those tires were switched out the car came alive! Minor mods and it was just that much better! I now have an '18 Grant Touring Reserve and its about 95% of what the Speed6 was but with way better gas mileage. Much smoother ride too but near no turbo lag! Mazda did a great job with this new engine!! And to say that the Speed6 wasn't special just isn't true... you have to actually drive one to see...
