Thanks for the review the the non-wireless Android auto is very weird to me I wasn't sure if the brochure online was correct the cheaper models have wireless and expensive top trim doesn't it's not a deal breaker , im considering this vehicle
I have a '21 Santa Fe Calligraphy. I'm in USA. Correct: It is extremely disappointing that AndroidAuto & Apple CarPlay are "wired". It's probably the only thing i don't like about the vehicle. But not a deal breaker. Incorrect: 20" wheels ARE available with AWD. This is how mine is equipped. Still there is no other car on the market that can touch the '21 Santa Fe Calligraphy in terms of features/luxury for the price.
Hi @danightryder, I hope all is well. I was wondering, where did you purchase your wireless apple car play adapter, and how dow it work? I look forward to your reply. Thank you kindly in advance.
Nice Review....Good Job. It is a Baby Palisade...IMO. You say that it handles...."Pretty Well"... Doesn't seem like a great endorsement. I don't really need the Palisade with 3 rows of seats. I will give this car a serious look .
You can plug in an adapter to the USB port to get wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. There are so many adapter options that do this for cars that have wired CarPlay & Android Auto
I wish all you car reviewers would actually do a little better research. You can get the 20” rims with all wheel drive. I also watched a video when the host said it was a led light bar that attached the tail lights. WRONG!! Also I watched a video where the host said the 19” rims are exclusively on the calligraphy. WRONG! Please do more research people!
Regarding the 20” rims. Currently the N. American Calligraphy comes with 19” rims. Yes other markets seem to have the 20” and early promo shots showed them, but for some reason (supply shortage?) they are not on the US/Canadian ones at this time. Got the 19” on mine and they’ve been relegated to winter rims!
You should start off your intro "This is Hansen, we're doing a story on adults that are interested in fresh young vehicles. Why don't you have a seat. Have a seat right there."
As far as this car not having wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, you can get that with a USB dongle or adapter that will make CarPlay or Android Auto work wirelessly. Ultimately that’s a minor fix you can do if it really bothers you that much. In addition, wired CarPlay & Android Auto would probably be more reliable but that can depend on the wireless CarPlay & AA adapter you get
Owned lexus rx, acura mdx and toyota highlander limited. This car is just 3 years into the future from other 2021 cars. Limited is 42k and has options only the highest luxury trims from acura and lexus that cost 60k plus. Ride is unbelievably quiet and comfortable. Engine is more powerful that most v6 blocks-6.0s 0-60mpg is top of the line in this class. Harman Kardon sound system is excellent. This is the best in class suv for the money period. Even 2021 lexus rx base cost more and its options and equimpent are simply trash in comparison to higher end santa fe models.
recent Santa Fe Limited Hybrid owner here 🙋♀️ I will start with the cons: -On a Hybrid, by law they need to have some kind of sound because electric cars are so quiet. Therefore it has an unpleasant Horn when reversing and it’s LOUD & there’s no way to lower it or remove it.. please be aware of this and test it out because I was not told about this prior to purchasing it. -TRUNK : The power gate lift it’s fine and all but it does not Offer Hands-free way to close The trunk - SEATS : There’s no button to put back the middle seats if it was put down. - There’s no designated storage for SUNGLASSES - There’s heated seats for the passengers in the back but there’s no cooling - when SELF-STEER on cruise control Is activated, it does not allow you to remove your hands off the wheel for more than 30 seconds Until it gives you a pre-warning and anything more than a minute will give you the loud warning and then eventually it will disable the self steering mode .. Which I feel is somewhat useless. As if they’re Trying to be the Tesla but haven’t gotten it there yet. ….. now onto the Pros: - with the limited hybrid it does have the option of “SELF“ DRIVE on cruise control. This allows for the car to steer itself when it is recognizing the lane, and it will slow down stop and go with the traffic. There are four modes which you can set to determine the distance between your car and the car in front of you. - Since the center consul does not offer a shift gear there is a humongous space at the bottom - HEATED seats for the back passenger - back passenger seats allows the whole seat to move all the way up - passenger seats back also allow us to move back for relaxation - Panoramic SUNROOF - SELF PARK/REVERSE : if you were in a tight spot at a parking lot you are able to control via remote to remove the car out. (Sidenote it only does it forward or back, it does not make a turn) -MICROPHONE: just like the palisade, this does offer a microphone for the back passengers (which I find useless because there’s no third row seating in the Santa Fe) - BLIND SPOT CAMERA : when you activate your turn signal on the dashboard it will show a video of your Blindspot. I have compared the calligraphy versus the limited and there’s really not a big difference just the trim in the front and the leather stitching Then I compared Santa Fe versus Palisade and a big difference for me was the Pallisade I did not offer a hybrid, although I would’ve like to have a third row seating but it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me.
The problem I have with the 2022 Tucson is the smooth touch buttons on the center console. When driving, I prefer to have the tactile feel of buttons that I can feel.
@@douglashenry6996 I feel the same about the capacitive touch buttons for everything. Not ideal. I prefer real buttons for the basics and that was a huge plus for the Sante Fe. I think the Tucson will appeal to younger crowd. I’m 42 and the Sante Fe is like a breath of fresh air for me. I love the solid and premium feel. I’m so over junky feeling interiors…Toyota I’m talking to you!
@@juliealtman6465 Models that have the larger screen like the Calligraphy do NOT include wireless Carplay. The lower end models with smaller screens do include it.
@@juliealtman6465 I have it my 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum. It is hard to believe that there are even 2022 vehicles that do not support wireless CarPlay!
I was comparing the two as well & ending up picking Santa Fe Limited Hybrid. I personally felt that it offered more of a newer look because of the press buttons than having a shift gear on the Lexus. However I was also considering the cost difference between the two high ends trim. The Lexus did have a better storage (There wasn’t sunglass storage on the Santa Fe hybrid & Another con for the Santa Fe limited hybrid is the loud noise when reversing) .. I don’t remember if the Lexus offers it, but the Santa Fe limited highbred offers Htrac , which allows The car to drive/steer itself on cruise control.
Weight savings is the justification from Hyundai on that one. I prefer a spare tire, but I guess they have certain metrics that they're required to meet, which is why they omitted the spare tire.
I still don't get the cup holders or lack there of. It appears as though there is one front cup holder open next to the phone charger and another front cup holder under the little rectangular door just forward of the open holder. No "Wireless Car Play", is that referring to Apple Products? I am assuming it has Bluetooth?
It has wireless phone charging, but no wireless connectivity. You need a wire hookup to play your tunes with both Apple and Android. Supposedly it's a bandwidth issue, but hopefully they'll have that ironed out in 2022.
@@ChrisWaters Don’t worry …no explanation as to why there’s no wireless CarPlay/Android Auto for this vehicle has ever made sense or held water. Nobody knows why it isn’t included and it’s related to the larger infotainment screen. Makes Zero sense.
CarPlay/Android Auto hasn't been as big as an issue as i first thought for this vehicle. I can do most everything, including playing my playlists, through BlueTooth connectivity.
Unfortunately for me, I'm a little claustrophobic....and that wrap-around cockpit feel doesn't work for me. It looks nice, but I prefer the open space of the old interior.
Just bought the 2022 in Hampton Grey... This is a great vehicle and is packed with features. We traded our 2021 RAV4 which at almost the same price point was lacking everywhere. Shame on Toyota their software and technology to start the car and for other features literally sucks. The remote start on the key fob was hit and miss. I have owned Hyundai in the past and I'm back now after horrible features and technology in the Toyota.
I took delivery of my Calligraphy in February. It’s an excellent vehicle with two issues for me. The wireless CarPlay/Android auto - which I understand might be fixed by a future firmware update. Also the look of the 19” wheels are a big let down. Early promo shots showed 20” wheels but they don’t seem to have made it yet to the N. American market. The 19” rims have been relegated to winter, and I got some rims from a 2020 Ultimate model for summer tires and they look much better!
Every Calligraphy rolling off the line in Montgomery has 20's on them now, I feel for the poor souls who couldn't wait. 19's on a Limited is one thing but on a Calligraphy? The 20's are the only way to go. Bought mine, Quartz White / Black in Oregon had to haul it to Cali, crazy market we are in - Rick
I agree on both issues (see my comment above). I ordered my '21 AWD Santa Fe Calligraphy with 20" wheels in March '21 and took delivery in July '21. The 20" wheels are a much nicer design.
I don't suppose before if this car ( Santa fe ) look great pull Inovation defferent with another SUV cause many feature also support safety, basically anyway is the best moreover if there's feature off road it becomes ferfect.
A salesperson told me there’s some sort of wireless interference issue with larger screen. It absolutely makes no sense to me. I haven’t heard any reasoning that sounds legit and it is a bit weird. That being said, I use the cable and don’t mind it. Qi Wireless charging is inefficient and takes too long to charge. It also produces more heat. I would rather just plug my phone in for charging purposes and bonus get 100% solid Apple CarPlay and not the iffy Wireless. So no loss there for me other than the option to do so would be great.
So the wireless charger is useless in the limited and the calligraphy because you still have to plug in your phone to use android auto or Apple CarPlay. 😂
I can use many Android phone features by connecting through BlueTooth. Even when wire connected for Android Auto/CarPlay I can charge the phone in the charging dock.
This is the only situation I've seen where the base model looks better than the upper trims. All that chrome and two tone panels mixed in together just looks bizarre and gaudy
hide the cherokee eyes, it looks like some old ford truck face. Get rid of the functional headlights, Jeep cherokee both together, hard to see the resemblance
In the Hyundai website in the actual full summary section for the Mechanical part it is showing 281Hp, which I also wonder, since, in another area it says 277 Hp.
Great car …. but. I’m reaching out to fellow 2021-22 Santa Fe Calligraphy owners. (2.5 T w/HTRAC) I’m vexed; the Radiator fan will randomly run at full speed for 1-2 mins. after I turn the engine off. The Dealer can’t find any sensor defects in the diag. We live in a mild climate; the engine is not being taxed when this happens. This can’t be normal. Is anyone out there experiencing this issue too? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated - Rick
@@hamerplayer1229 My wife spoke with another service manager and apparently this is the way this 2.5 turbo is designed crazy lots of turbos out there that don't do this wish I had bought one with a naturally aspirated engine
haven't watched the vid, but i'm predicting what it is missing is wireless android auto. who TF cares? you have a car with more features than cans 10K dollars more. wireless android auto.... don't use it, don't need it, who cares?
Model ini gak lounching2 di indonesia parah bgt hyundai indonesia untung banyak terus bisanya fitur2 yg di sunatin banyak bgt sama hyundai indonesia parah kalah sama mazda jauhlah fitur2nya kalah komplit
