Looks like Chevrolet is tired of Ram and Ford having the best interiors in the segment because this new Silverado ramps things up pretty significantly! We question the need to get the Sierra Denali, especially when you look at the substantial price difference between the two trucks.

If you get the 6.2 engine and don't open up the exhaust, you're missing on a lot of horsepower. There is a reason why Chevy pushes the catback exhaust. It will add a lot more than 10 hp, more like 30 hp.

The only differences between this generation (pre-refresh) and the last gen. Was that they added dynamic fuel management, which didn't do much in terms improving fuel economy. They made the ride quality slightly better, they gave it a turbo 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder diesel. The V8's have essentially been the same since 2014. Producing the same amount of power for almost 9 years. Likely keeping the V8's until everything switches to EV.

I have a 2022 LTZ Z71 with the 6.2 engine and it runs like a scalded dog, it will spin the tires from a dead stop. The secret to getting the 6.2 to run is opening up the exhaust. That's why chevy offers the catback exhaust system as an option. My 6.2 is now pushing 445 hp.

Yeah, but it still has an outdated powertrain, completely and totally outdated. Why are they still pushing this outdated technology? If you want any significant towing and payload, it needs to be a performance hybrid. ICE's just can't produce the required torque.
@jeffwill4923
@jeffwill4923 Год назад
There's nothing special about a hybrid. Just adding more weight and tech doesn't help payload. Max towing on such model can be up to 13,300 on 6.2L or 3L diesel. HD trucks gas engines have less torque than Toyota or Ford hybrid. Do they tow over 14k? I don't think so.
@MTB_Rider_96
@MTB_Rider_96 Год назад
@@jeffwill4923 Obviously you're not an Engineer. Good thing there is tons of free education out there. Basically, Electric Motor = Very high torque. ICE = Best Range. ICE + Electric = High Torque AND Long Range AND Much better MPG. ICE alone = Outdated. That's a free lesson.
@jeffwill4923
@jeffwill4923 Год назад
@@MTB_Rider_96 If electric is so great why isn't on the larger HD trucks. Ford just released a HD truck with no hybrid for a reason. I don't need to be a engineer to know why this decision was made. GM has recently increased the 3L diesel torque to 495. No hybrid can beat it fuel economy. 6.2L is the smoothest engine in the segment. It's days maybe numbered but Ford went to such engine in their HD lineup for a reason. The power boost and TT 3.5L V6 are stuck in the 1/2 ton lineup where they should be.
@MTB_Rider_96
@MTB_Rider_96 Год назад
@@jeffwill4923 First, you need to understand the relationship between horse power and torque. Then compare the speed-torque curves between an electric motor and an ICE. Without having that basic understanding, this conversation is useless.
@jeffwill4923
@jeffwill4923 Год назад
@@MTB_Rider_96 I don't need to understand you. Have asked you a simple question. Gas V8's like 6.2L are in HD trucks. None are over 500 ft-bs. Ford power boost is a hybrid with over 580. How come Ford went with a new 6.8L only 445 vs 580 in powerboost. The main reason is Ford doesn't use the hybrid motor in tow haul mode. You clearly don't know GM was the first to use some type of hybrid with 5.3L V8. All goes back to 2004 when tech was not good. Around 2012 a 6L hybrid came into the picture. When this new model came out in 2018, GM chose to put hybrids on hold.
