@@donburton5323 Because technology advanced. The old model will still be out there for those who want to buy it. I liked the 2015 equinox though, that one was cool but I have no idea how it would stand the test of time, that's always the question for any vehicle.
I like the boxier look for this model. It never made sense to me that the trailblazer looked more masculine and serious than the equinox. They’ve certainly addressed that but can we give *gm* their flowers for their new day level of quality and interior designs? It’s night and day from just 7-9 years ago, and currently at the very top of the pack - that’s not an easy nor a cheap feat.! Very impressed with the packaging too, I like the upscale RS trim vs. just offering some blacked out package.
This thing looks so much better than the last gen. Props to GM for getting serious about better quality and design. I know we’re getting the Equinox EV, but I’m hoping we see them throw a hybrid system in this thing, now that GM has said they’ll be pivoting to PHEVs.
Great improvement over any of the previous gens. Let's hope reliability has improved as much. My mom had a new 1st gen and it was an absolute dumpster fire. You could almost feel car degrading as it drove down the street.
@ 5:39 you mentioned it would have the LS trim level when they may have dropped the LS trim and, only trims available for 2025 MY are LT, Activ and RS, from what I've heard so far.
GM dealerships are forcing Mary Barra to bring back the hybrid tech due to all the widespread issues of their EVs (I'm looking at you TFL EV) and lack of interest from consumers. Anywho, Like the look of this new Equinox (I never thought I will say this), and the powertrain is decent against it competitors.
TFL isn’t forcing Mary Barra or *gm* to do squat. They better be glad the General sends them anything of theirs to review and profit off of at this point with all of the negative press, political fear mongering and vehicle nitpicking that they do to *gm* products, and ONLY *gm* products. I’ve even unsubscribed behind their bias.
I mentioned in another thread that GM just announced last week they're bringing back plug in hybrids. The 2025 PHEV Equinox will be offered in China, with just a few modifications i bet they bring it to North America!
@@victreebel170 Although I wish I was still a boy, I'm a 42-year-old father of 2. And the first thing I mentioned in my comment was that I was a Ford person. So yes, I'm admittedly a Ford fan. I own a pre-facelifted Escape, like it a lot, but prefer the looks of the new Equinox.
I had a current generation one as a rental a couple weeks ago. I liked that the tech was easy to use, but it was nothing special. The 1.5 liter in this felt a lot less powerful than the 1.5 liter in a Ford Escape I rented a year ago.
I have a 2024 I alway but a last year or close to last year production because big are worked out.I will buy a New version when it’s near last of production.I have alway done that works good for me
It's such an appealing offering but that motor just kills it. I'm not looking for Lambo speeds but I need something with more balls than a 9 or 10 sec 0-60.
@@invictusf5790The CR-V gets a 0-60 time of 7.5 seconds which is considered impressive with Ivtec involved. The new equinox with the 1.5T 8 speed will probably be around 8.0 and the FWD model with CVT will be much quicker. Are you going racing when you drive to Albertsons? 😂
@@worldofdoom995 They have been running that engine for a while and I have seen 0 of them go bad. I work in a GM service department and see hundreds of vehicles per week and we’ve had 0 of those engines go bad.
@@G-Rated I had a new Equinox as a loaner and it drove just fine. CVT is a mess, it is not reliable and fails unexpectedly. I just refuse to buy any car with a CVT, unless it is e-CVT, which is very different tech. But I love this new redesign overall.
Yeah I test drove one last year when the lease on my Equinox 2.0L turbo was up and it was a deal breaker for me - This new one looks really nice but I'll never go back as long as they keep offering these tiny slow little engines.
The equinox needed to look like a mini Tahoe just like the new GMC Acadia looks like a mini Yukon. Hopefully the 2025 GMC Terrain will look like a mini Yukon or Acadia. The Styling of the New Traverse is awful. GM should have styled the new Traverse as a slightly smaller Tahoe / Suburban.
Here's the thing about what I call the " 36ers ", ie, ALL BRANDS that focus on BASIC 36,000 mile warranty cars. They have a crappy warranty because they need you to come back in 3 years to trade and buy again, INSTEAD of focusing on better build quality / 60,000 miles like Hyundai or Kia. As usual, Chevy sinks money into everything MINUS the one thing that actually matters more, the engine. Putting the same lackluster 175 HP slow, unimpressive engine, especially not offering something more powerful in the ACTIVE trim, will bite them in the butt. If you increase the ride height and up the HP / torque to give people a REAL reason to spend more money on the ACTIVE trim, you instantly gain a broader customer base of weekend campers / hikers etc. Chevy always takes the easy out. The point is, why bother giving the car a complete makeover inside and out,if the real reason you can sell FAR MORE isn't addressed?
I can’t believe the awful trends in the automotive world now. Everything now is a small crossover with a tiny engine, huge screens with piano black and no buttons, and everything has to have off-road trim or off road tires. Nobody is going to off road this. All regular cars are gone.
People like the comfort of knowing they can drive off the beaten path if they need to whether they plan to or not. Not only that, these vehicles are safer on uneven terrain and surfaces with bigger debris on the roads like small rocks in the countryside or bottles and trash in the city streets. Because of the tire profiles they’re arguably more comfortable as well. People also like the styling and there are other trim levels if you don’t need the capability nor care for look. It was a great addition to the previously boring Equinox trim set, imo.
@@G-Rated 90% of people are not driving off of a beaten path. They’ve bought into this allusion and marketing scheme that makes them tons of money. They’re selling a lie. American highways are filled with empty trucks and SUVs getting horrible gas mileage for no reason. It is a waste of
The outside design has a more rugged look. Gross color combination on both inside and out for that one🤢. NOOOO! To the stupid dial shifter. Having "active" or any words on the seat headrests is just plain tacky. I have a loaded 2019 awd 2.0t awd equinox and this just screams "downgrade".
As an owner of a 2022 Equinox the 2025 is crap for styling and would never buy it. I have never understood the need to "look bold and masculine" by the car, or worse let, huge pickup you drive, to other weak minded people. But again I don't consider myself under-endowed. In an age of climate change it seems to me aerodynamics should be what we prefer instead of fake proving yourself by what you own instead of your actions.
When is Chevy going to get away from these ugly alien looking front ends? The headlight design (that started on the 2024 Jeep Cherokee) was the ugliest “trend” ever and Chevy got infected by it.
