The 2025 Corolla just got UPDATED...I wasn't expecting this 

Kinda disappointed that the FX name was used for the sedan as opposed to the hatch, looks more like an updated Apex than a FX throwback

I don't understand why Toyota keeps making a big deal about minor color changes and turning it into a whole new grade: Apex, Nightshade, now this FX. Some of them do look good but they're not worth $40,000 after the dealers get ahold of them.

I’m in Barcelona Spain visiting and seen tons of the Yaris hatchback and it’s insane! Also the Corolla wagons are pretty cool.

Civic is selling due to great styling, almost as big as Accord, fuel efficient, good price

So the 2025 Corolla hatchback retains the older 8 inch multimedia display per Toyotas site but the sedans get upgraded screen. No love for hatches, stole its FX name and slapped it on a sedan. No hybrid option. At least Honda likes hatches and can now get a Civic hatch hybrid

A lot of cars just getting to big and expensive.

Same car for last 5 years, change wheels and paint top black and sell another 5 years as new car because they call ''fx'' That car looks and feels like 15 years old car. Yes It is reliable and it is the only good thing we can say about it.

You should talk about how the cars have got so big over the years combined with garages getting smaller. The Civic has grown since the 80's! We have big trucks. Fun fact the two sized garage peaked in 2020 with 24x24, but has shrunk in just 4 years to an average of 20x20 (I'm a builder btw). You combine that with the large size of current cars and you have what many peeps are running into. Garages only capable of housing one car because two requires "Ca pak" 😂 Yea... well i find it facinating.🙃

This thing is going to be almost $40k. Dealers are still marking these things up.

Sorry, I'm not impressed with the FX. They could have at least put back in a MT since Toyota already had one for this generation Corolla. Ideally in addition to the lowered suspension and the appearance package, they could have put in a more powerful, or tuned engine.

Will be interesting to see Honda sales when the civic hybrid comes out and what happens to Accord sales. HRV hybrid would really help sales to compete with Toyota. And, Acura with the ADX might help them.

regarding the Accord, if anyone wants my honest opinion about sedans in today's market. The proposition has to be attractive and different than that of the equivalent CUV. The sedan absolutely needs to be a sportier and more involving driver-focused package because those are the people choosing the sedan over the more practical lifted hatch version. I have nothing against offering them as hybrid-only; I think that's a smart move. But the driver-focused nature needs to be there, no exception. I'm talking about sport sedan or go home. And there should be a significant price discount as well when looking at the base trim. The Accord is too expensive and too soft; people will default to the CRV.

"fun" cars are plummeting. That's bad as could all get cancelled and I'm dead sick of "SUVs" :( The fx has NOTHING to do with the FX16. The spiritual successor to that is really the GR Corolla as the original fx16 had better suspension and the MR2 engine more similar to the GR Corolla upgrades today. This Corolla is just essentially a "sticker package", and certainly no FX16. If it was, it should have got the GR Corolla driveline - THAT I would be interested in.

I'm assuming this new "FX" will be CVT only? The FX-16 from the '80's came with a manual transmission. That's what the new one needs. Not everyone can afford $45k+ for that 3cyl GR model.

As mass production manufacturers make more quality cars, it feels like brands like Genesis and Acura are losing purpose

Are the xle seats actually that sweaty? I have a good discount on one of them but I had an issue with my jetta r line making me sweat like crazy. I’ve only sweat in my jetta compared to renting mustangs, audis, teslas, camrys

New Corolla update is a very good one and will keep it fresh. but a all new generation is Long over due and very much needed.

Toyota screens are obnoxious. Looks like after thoughts and out of place.

I have a 24 Corolla and the last thing this car needs is a bigger screen, especially in its current configuration. Short people will have to raise their seat to max height

US is lucky that they get all these special editions models of Toyota’s whether it’s a Corolla, Camry, 86 or Supra. In Australia, Toyota doesn’t bother with any special editions, just the standard trim levels.

Toyota didn't need to do much styling changes to keep the Corolla fresh. Current model is far less outdated than the previous gen at the same time in its lifecycle after all. New FX trim is quite nice though it would be a shame if it's only a rehash of the Apex trim with an overly stiff ride.

Again Toyota could had offer a manual transmission option for this one.... But they didn't.

I've read that Acura is updating their factories, which is causing Acuras to be built out of Honda's plants until the upgrades are completed. I'm thinking the strain is causing supply issues for Acura AND Honda. I don't think its the cars themselves.

I'm happy with my Sportage PHEV. Some minor things here and there but for my OTD price, compared to the other big brands, I'm a happy customer!

That car needs the 2.5 liter engine from the Camry. That will put it on par with Civic 1.5 T, Kia K4 T and Mazda 3 2.5 liter.

It’s a nice car. I’m just not a fan of the grey cloth seats on the FX trim. They should have put the softex leather. I’m currently on my third Corolla, a 2018 SE sedan. Always reliable with no problems. Have been thinking of upgrading to a truck but also considering buying a 2025 Corolla XSE because it will come with the bigger 10 inch screen.

Big seller in Europe with much better materials inside for the European version, magnificent build quality as well. And ofcourse much more expensive.

Im nearly sold on a gr corolla but the front bumper looks like optimus prime. Im hoping the 25 gr gets a front bumper like this, looks so dang clean.

Kirk you said you would rather own a gladiator. Have you looked at the predicted reliability,and all the issues with that vehicle? If you are thinking of owning one of them you may want to get rid of it before the warranty period has expired.

I like the wheels. Those seats look better than those horrible seats they were putting in the SE/XSE a few years ago but I don’t know if they are still getting those.

Toyota turned the FX and Apex into style trims, put a Corolla chassis name on a Impreza based sports car, and put the Trueno badge on it as an option. Lol

I wish our local Toyota would have had a 2025 Corolla because that would have been the car that we would have got instead of the 2025 Camry Hybrid Se. We had the Le 2015 Corolla Le. We had that for 9 years. Turned it in for the Camry Hybrid Se.

That’s exactly the screen size the new Taco and 4Runner should’ve had vs the oversized 14in.

I actually like the Impreza over the crosstrek due to all the plastic they put on the crosstrek. Thinking about adding that one to my garage for around town car then give to my kid. Perhaps with the low sales numbers I can pick one up cheaper on a rebate next month

The tundra recall isn’t really a recall when there is no fix at the moment.

My thoughts on the TLX: everyone that wanted one already bought. It's just not a competitive vehicle for the price at this point.

The Corolla sedan is not sold in my country due to poor sales. Hybrid only Hatch and Wagon. Looking forward to the next generation.

Kirk, They need to F (i)X the cramped Corolla interior by stretching the TNGA-C wheelbase to match the Prius. The genuinely impressive Corolla FX-16 hot hatch was built alongside the world famous Nova Twin-Cam in the California factory which is now occupied by T_SLA squatters. 😛😛

I've got my Hot Pockets and my Coke Zero and I'm buckled in !!! Let's go !!! At 1:44, I know I sound like a broken record at this point but, again, that cheap plastic infotainment screen is hideous. People, look at this photo and imagine the dash without the infotainment screen. It would be so much cleaner and ergonomic. The simplicity would have no equal and this car would sell like hotcakes. I know Toyota watches Kirk's channel so that's why I keep hammering the point that Toyota must fix the infotainment screen. There's a way to integrate the infotainment screen into the dash so it's not an eyesore. Toyota has billions of dollars. Toyota has gifted automotive designers. Let the designers design. What we see are the bean counters making the decisions, maximizing profits at the expense of ergonomic functionality. C'mon, Toyota. You can do it! Better yet, Toyota? Call me. I can help.

Still doesn't get the 12.3 inch full digital instrument panel that the euro-spec Corolla gets.

I don't love the wheels or screen size in the FX. The screen size is too big for the cabin design. On a positive note; the spoiler, exterior color combo, and lowered stance are nice.

I RARELY see a Maverick on the road. They seem to be very low volume vehicles. I suspect Ford is losing money on them or making very low profit and is instead trying to push potential buyers to the Ranger and F-150 when they show up at dealers and find no Mavericks available. Dealerships can add markups and increase their profit on these low supply vehicles, but dealership markups in no way benefit Ford. All that extra cash is kept by the local dealership. If they were profitable, Ford would have made increasing production volume a higher priority by now.

TLX and Integra need the new large touchscreen. Toyota has introduced their big screen fairly quickly while the Pilot still has a 9” screen, unacceptable.
