The 2025 Toyota Camry Is All-New & All Hybrid!!

This is the 2025 Toyota Camry folks, and it's all-new and ALL HYBRID! The 9th generation Camry ditches the controversial X-faced styling of its predecessor for a look that's way, way sexier. Who would have thought "Prius like styling" would be a good thing? Go figure.
The big news is under the hood, so let's start there. The only engine on offer is the 5th generation 2.5L hybrid system which will crank out 225 HP in the FWD model and 232 HP in the AWD model. AWD will be available in all trims, but no model will feature a V6. If you want V6 like power, you'll have to step up to a Crown with the Hybrid Max 2.4L turbo. Speaking of turbos, the lack of a 2.4L turbo came as a surprise to me. Fuel economy has yet to be announced, but it'll probably be around 50 MPG like the current model. Yep, 50 MPG in a family sedan.
On sale in the spring of 2024 the Camry will come in LE, SE, XLE, and XSE trims. The blue/green model in the photos is the XLE and the silver one is the XSE. They get different front end looks are some interior tweaks as well.
Speaking of the interior, it has a few styling elements from the Crown, including the same big LCDs (optional) but charts its own course for the rest. While I wouldn't exactly call the black dash "louvers" traditional, the styling is less avant garde than the bz4x.
Headroom appears fairly average in the front and solid in the rear. Rear seat room is certainly for me at 6-feet tall than the Honda Accord or Hyundai Sonata, mainly because the Camry keeps a more traditional roofline instead of opting for a sportback style. We don't have complete specs or pricing yet, but I'll make a few educated guessed:
Legroom and headroom are likely very similar or exactly the same as the current model. The trunk looks to be around 16 cubic feet which is huge. The current Camry starts at $26,420 but the hybrid is $28,855. While I would hope the new model splits the difference, the 2025 is more likely to start around $29,000.
What do you think? Are you team Camry or do you like the slinkier styling of the Accord? How about the refreshed Sonata which now has less fish face than before?

As an driver of a 2018 Camry, this looks more like a facelift for the front and rear to keep the Camry up-to-date with Toyota's current design standard but interior-wise, material choice gotten luxurious.

Meh. You kids get off my lawn. I will look for a straight up 2.5l SE FWD version while they still make them. I have had several over the years as rentals and you can hyper mile over 40 mpg's unless stop and go. Comfy, etc. This new version looks better inside and out however.

Agreed, the middle box (when discussing 3 box design) literally looks click and dragged. Was expecting more of an overhaul. Even looking at the shape and placement of the lights looks like parts moldings were mildly changed rather than 'all-new' parts being designed. More 8.5th gen than 9th. Interior overhaul looks great. Lots of that Crown interior design being shared.

That's done on purpose, after Toyota upset so many new customers with the dramatic change of the new Tundra the Tacoma and Camry look like they already did because they sell so well due the way they look and it's not worth loosing customers over such a huge and unfamiliar change. I suspect they're concerned about upsetting 4runner customers was well and the design of the new one will be safe and follow the new Tacoma styling.

Toyota has certainly bumped up the price though. The cheapest base 2025 Camry LE will be 30k including destination and floor mats. Add in taxes and fees and a few port installed accesories and you can easily pay 34-35k OTD for a base Camry! Up to 50k OTD for a fully loaded 2025 Camry XSE with accessories. Toyota's certainly become greedy!

@@braetonwilson4296it’s the new business model for all manufacturers, not just Toyota. Charge much more and not have to keep overhead on hand all in the name of “supply chain problems” which also creates a feverish environment for stupid people which in turn makes them not question pricing or reality and sign anything in front of them, thinking they found some hard to get vehicle. It’s here to stay.

As others have said definitely looks more like a facelift. I think hybrid+AWD makes this the ultimate appliance car and I don't mean that as a negative. If AWD is offered on L/LE and the price doesn't move far off what the current base model hybrids were this is probably the best value for the money in a large high mileage vehicle. As someone who isn't the biggest Toyota or Camry fan but as someone who drives a ton the economy and relative reliability of the hybrid system has been enticing as simply an A to B appliance. The lack of AWD and j Hybrids was always a turn off for me though. May have to reconsider now, something I wouldn't care about beating/driving the wheels off of while getting great fuel economy sounds very nice at this point in my life.

Toyota makes more than enough Hybrids and PHEV's to offset the loss in MPG of the V6 cars. There just was not enough interest in the V6 to make it viable. @@braetonwilson4296 That's a good question, but considering the cafe and emissions standards, Toyota's investment in batteries and electric motors and the economy of scale associated with that, and just the ease of producing one or two different hybrid models, on top of being able to justify a higher price tag, I would say that they are making the decision that, while not popular, makes sense according to them. They may be moving the Camry upmarket while realizing that the Corolla and smaller cars and crossovers will be for those who can't afford the Camry. Front end is an improvement but the rear end, with the Subaru Legacy-esque taillights, is a downgrade. The interior, while better than the one in the 2021 refresh, isn't much of an improvement over the 2018 model. Standard hybrid is a nice touch. Curious how Toyota will price this model though. Toyota's interior is a copy of Honda''s design with their own take. While Honda uses a grid that matches the air vents with a mild black plastic, Toyota decided to use a shiny black plastic with a louvered look that also integrates with the air vents like the Honda. While Honda will sell you a gas engine for a lower cost model and hybrid for the higher trims, Toyota is going to make you buy a hybrid which means a higher base price. It is going to be interesting in 2025 if Honda's approach of a lower cost gas engine on the lower trims wins them sales, or Toyota's higher cost hybrid wins more sales. I think Honda might sell more for the first time if the hybrid Camry is $2500 more on the base model than the Accord.

Don't mind piano black on the dash but why the center console, the steering wheel, and the window switches?! edit: actually the window switches look like they might be a satin finish? should just use that on the wheel and center console...

Beautiful car (well, Alex too). I am not a fan of the current Camry's design. Very happy that Toyota didn't compromise ergonomics for design like they did with the Prius.

Can ALWAYS count Alex being FIRST to bring on the goods! I was really hopping that the Camry would make the Accord DOA, but this car is coming off as more of an MCE reskin of the 2024 vs an all-new car. The 2018 was a quantum leap over the 2017 car. This isn't...that.

I think this is a nice compromise between a refresh and ground up. Let’s be honest most buyers of the Camry, at least in the US, are uber/lyft drivers, so the most important things are rear comfort, fuel economy, and trunk space. Hence, you’re not getting big boy prius/coupe body lines this generation.

Thank you Alex for calling out Toyotas beyond zero marketing nonsense! Hybrids directly produce emissions like any other ICE car, so it very much is not “beyond zero” it’s “before zero” like you said. Toyota needs to cut this out, especially since they’re putting their beyond zero marketing on ANY electrified car they make, even the hybrid max Tundras and Sequoias that get 18MPG, far from beyond zero emissions and borderline green washing imo.

Honda is going to have to rethink their hybrid strategy. When you have all Camrys with Lithium battery getting 45+ MPG, the Accord may struggle in sales. A Camry Prime (if created) will give buyers considering an EV another strong option.

Alex, the piano black finishes are scratch resistant. Toyota used the same materials on the 2004 Prius cup holder and is still shiny like new.

@AAutoBuyersGuide 9 месяцев назад
Tell that to the current Camrys that all have fine scratches. Toyota confirmed they have no additional scratch resistance vs the current model and the last two we wer3 sent for review had a ton of scratches. These 2025 models also showed signs of fine scratches on the dash.

this car seems perfect and good on toyota for democratizing the hybrid powertrain. hopefully this means that there will only be a small bump in msrp. why is the hump still there if it's a non-mechanical awd? seems they should've been able to flatten the floor if there's not driveshaft. also, is there an option for a non-panoramic sunroof and heated steering wheel?
