I understand Quentin reaction, during my last dose for COVID-Vaccine may nakasabay kame magpapasecond dose rin sa tingin ko kalaki lang din ni quentin and same condition with him kasama niya yung mom ata niya or lola. Nung pinapapasok na siya sa loob pero ayaw niya tumayo sa upuan kahit anong pilit ng nanay niya even si doc pinapakalma siya at inoofferan ng Jollibee raw para maconvince siya kaya lang ayaw talaga niya tumayo kaya nagdecide sila na si doc na mismo lumapit para turukan siya sa kinauupuan niya kaya lang nung nakita niya yung humawak sakanya nung 1st dose tumakbo siya bigla palabas ng mall. Hinabol siya ng nanay niya tas dun na siya nagstart magtantrums kase natakot siya sa unang bakuna niya kaya ganun yung reaction niya sobrang lakas ng iyak niya nakakaawa. Kahit kami nakapila nadudurog yung puso. 😭 Maswerte si Quentin dahil may private doc siya and thankful ako sa doc at mga tao dun na nag assist kahit marami pa kame na babakunahan tyinaga talaga nila mapakalma bago maturukan. Sana maging aware dito ang gov't at mabigyan ng maayos na vaccination site ang mga taong may special needs dapat iprioritize sila sa mass vaccination dahil pwede magcause sakanila 'to ng stress at trauma napakarami pa naman tao kapag sa public magpapabakuna. Hindi rin naman lahat ng nanay afford mag appoint for private vaccination for their children with condition like them. And I hope maging aware ang mga viewers dito lalo na kung makakaencounter tayo ng ganito sa bakunahan so we know kung paano sila papakalmahin. Hi Ms Candy. My daughter was given penthrox also know as green whistle it was a light sedation and make them feel drowsy. It helped her to calm down when they gave her the covid shot. I hope na pwede rin mag request sa Philippines especially for kids on the spectrum . Quentin was so brave🙂

I first saw you Candy during your interview with Toni Gonzaga just a day ago- Jan 23rd 2022. I laughed and I cried while watching and got curious with your life with your son and how you are dealing with his special abilities. I must say you are an exemplary mother. You have so much patience and love. And you are so blessed to be surrounded by loving and very supportive family and help and your friends Janice- Gelli and Carmina. Quentin is a very smart and intelligent boy. And he is doing so well because of the love and support that you and your family and everyone around him have given him. I know the feeling...having a kid struggling in needle...when my son undergone chemo every session we need to hold him...nakakaawa ang bata but it's for their own good naman kahit mdami humawak pa...
They should practice Q one week before his vacation.. para po hndi xa mtakot.. use fake needles while practicing.. ganun po yong ginagawa namin sa alaga kong 20 yrs old autism. Khit anu pong medical exams for him.. we practice a week before po to help him calm..

Hello! Good to see na nkapag2nd dose of vaccine na rin si Quentin. My son who is special also had his 2nd dose and I was fortunate that he doesn't have any violent reactions..I just told him that it would make him safe from Covid and he readily agreed naman so, he was brave enough to wait for his turn sa vaccination site. Just like any normal person he was able to overcome the situation..I was surprised to see Dr. Dimalanta! He was my son's first developmental pediatrician at St. Luke's in Quezon city when he was just 3 years old! My son is now 18..

I totally understand Quentin. I am 28 and when I got my vaccination, I was really scared to death. Knowing that I also feel the same for every medical i've gone through that requires blood draw. It's just the fear seeing the needle.
naiyak naman ako natakot si QQ dahil siguro na stress siya dami nakapaligid sa knya kaya nakaramdam siya ng kunting takot pero infairmess sa medical staff at kay Doc na isurvive nila mag matapos yung vaccine ni QQ ng successfully!😊👍
My son has Autism as well. I find having a distraction like a tablet/iPad helped. He struggled a lot with his second shot as well. Between the busy environment and the anticipation of the shot can definitely be overwhelming for people on the spectrum.

I also have a nephew n may adhd and sobrang takot tlaga sya magpabakuna as in! like before need nya magpaturok ng anti rabies and need 3 people (all grown men) para hawakan sya. but now he's a little mature n (25 yrs old n sya) and na-complete n nya n ung covid vaccine, 2 shots un kaya binigyan namin sya ng reward... kudos to all medical staff s haba ng patience and understanding for Q.

My brother also has ASD but he has high pain tolerance and not really aware of the situation around him. SInce he was a kid, he didnt give us a hard time whenever he has vaccination. He is just calm and will just twitch a little bit maybe because he is just surprised of the needle but process is still easy. Kudos to all family who has kids with ASD and thank you for all the people who understands them ❤️❤️❤️
