Please also see Samithu para (3vol). It's one of the oldest post independence book focused on southern indian cuisine! The other favorite of mine is Lord Krishna's cuisine- unabridged version. amazing book!!
There was a really good cooking show hosted by Gordon Ramsey that Atul Kocchar competed in (Great British Menu) - pretty old now but still worth a watch - think it’s on RU-vid still.
I learn by research best. I am looking for the best reference book to research, and help learn Indian cuisine, as a server. I want to know what I'm talking about
It strikes me that at some point you must have striven to understand how much you knew was the wisdom and knowledge of your guru Indira herself and how much of what she was sharing was the traditional generic and to what extent is there a generic knowledge, ie how much do individuals across Asia depart from the generic as a norm and to what extent is there a shared knowledge if they are all individuals following their own path?
Great one Keith. To understand, appreciate, enjoy the uniqueness, variety, taste, depth etc of Indian cuisine.....one lifetime in India is not enough. There's just too much. 😀
