The 3rd Gen Prelude Body Work Is Finally Coming Together 

Connor, buddy. I did this to my 2.0S carb '88 lude (still auto) this summer. I did everything you are currently doing. I am not a professional but heres my input: 1. Trunk holes: i would put the spoiler back on. The holes are already there so its easier than welding them shut. I had to weldthe holes on my trunk because the previous owner had a luggage rack, so for me to put on a spoiler, i had a lot of holes. The trunk lid is very thin metal, and very hard to weld closed. I managed to get it to a point which im happy at. But it was a challenge. You have a clean trunk lid. Just keep the spoiler on 2. The holes in the rocker: I welded new metal to the rockers. I had a family friend guide and help me and it looks so clean now. If you can do it, i recommend it. 3. Wrap vs. Paint: unfortunately, i could not find any shop, or local diy painter to paint my car. Everyone is very busy for some reason, or they dont want to take on a project. So i wrapped mine.... And my god it looks good. I don't believe you can go wrong with either route. Paint is better for just overall "car things" but the wrap is nothing to balk at. It's slick. I think you have done a great job so far. I'd say you are doing much better than me, and im happy with my results. I have to ask though, the rust you are removing, are you putting any body filler and sanding it smooth? I ask because i didnt bother with some areas, and after i wrapped it, i can see the areas that are depressed lower than the layers i didn't have rust on. If you want a cleaner look for the end result, you should try and fill in the bare metal spots with a filler. (If you havent already). Great job.

Please consider not putting the spoiler back on. As these beautiful cars age, their simple clean design stands out more in a world of over stylized cars. Less is more for this car

Rust is the worse but most neccesary part, the boot gutter on my lude had a fist sized hole. Took time to fix but worth it in the end. Keep up the work!

It's cool seeing this all come together. With a wrap you can do some really cool and unique colors. I vote wrap but I know DIY is going to be a pain if it's anything like your F30 roof was

I did body work until about the mid 90's. The lacquer primer that I used to use wouldn't repel water. It would let water back to the metal, which especially on a rust repair, you might want to throw any color paint on it temporarily. That way, it will repel the water. Not sure what kind of primer you are using though. Just damp weather will make it wet too. Just a thought.

Can't believe it's been years and you still haven't fixed that passengers side fog light. I've got 4 or 5 sets of them. If you were ever close to Floyd Virginia or North Carolina I would give you one.
