I sat there wondering for the first 10 minutes, why don’t I give a darn about this game? Then I realized, you never told me what world I am in, who I am as a character, or why I am doing anything I am doing in the game. Also missing from the introduction and game explanation was whether the game is competitive or cooperative.

Interesting review...we're 3 missions in...so far really like it. Also, I'm the only hardcore gamer in the family. I have found it really delightful to play with the family. I'm excited to see the next puzzle. I had no problem sliding the mission card into the stand, but the little plastic pieces for the standees were really hard to put the cardboard character into.

I tend to agree with the story being fairly jarring in certain spots. It did seem like this is intended for children with the life lessons it deals out during the game. I did find myself enjoying the card game aspect of it, as the better I planned and set up, the better chances I had to do well in a given mission. Setting up your characters relative to the mission specifics and set-up required a good amount of strategy. We only played with two players so we had to be smart with our character choices, as we would have less abilities to use in the game overall than 3 players or even 4 players. I actually wonder if that might be a tipping point in the game play, just how many people you have to cover the map and ability access. My girlfriend and I rate this VERY HIGHLY and consider it more of a cross between light board game and Unlock series.

I bought this with low expectations, as something light, fun and interesting to play with my spouse. We are enjoying it more than I expected, and I think she likes it too.

Seems like the enjoyment of the game is about as in & out as Roy's audio :)

Great family game. My kids love the game! Since for me when I play I look for not just my personal fun playing a game, but how it affects the happiness of my play group. So playing with my parents, older family; I like a certain type of game. With my kids, it is another type of game. Finally my gamer group is another type. Sometimes games go across groups. Yet, in the end I get joy from seeing others having joy. Tom is right that his kids will like it, and so will he like watching the kids puzzle this out. Good review!

Been looking for this one

We like this game so far in my house after completing the first three missions, but I agree with the suggestion that it really is a family weight game. The parts that we most enjoy are the code breaking and out of game elements, which especially tickle my eight year old son. It’s also nice that the rules of the game within the game evolve over the course of the campaign, which helps improve the overall experience. Overall, I am glad we are playing this and will certainly pass it to another family when we are done with it.

You guys should at least have the decency to hold up picture frames if you're going to do it in person, wheres the squares!?

Suggestion: maybe a frame with 4 squares in the corners would help to give a new meaning to the title of the series.

Maybe the new studio can have a big wooden Hollywood (Florida) Squares setup.

I really thought the scores would be lower based on their discussion. I really like the idea of a game with a fun adventure where you are finding clues or puzzle pieces with an aim to solve a puzzle at some point. Shame this doesn't fit the bill.

I am kinda tired of everything being a campaign. I suppose it makes sense for a game like this, but it's just more than I can/want to commit to.

I didn't like the Exit games and I didn't like Lost Cities, so this looks like a pass for me.
