HERE IS COST SHEET...we did not want to make it into a commercial for any contractors...so if you want that information, I can get that to you. If you are a Villager and want to know certain contractor, I reply to your comment as soon as possible. COST LIST: Interior House painted $1,800 - Crown Molding $1.300 - Cornice $500 - Solar tint $185 - Lights for ceiling fans $50 each (Lowe's) -Plantation Shutters $4,300 4 to 6 month wait (worth it) - Cabinet hardware $100 - Lanai Glass $5,800 - 4 to 6 month wait - worth every penny - Lanai Shades $625 - Nova Water filter system $668 - Solar Attic fan $650 - Attic steps in garage $250 - Garage indoor/outdoor carpet $400 - Gutters $1,068 - Outside garage door opener $154 -Landscaping remove pine straw replace with rock replace bushes with flowers $2,200 - two Roebelenii palm trees $500 each - we also had move rock put in back for another $1,000 -Flagpole $125 total $23,4000 - We bought a refurbished golf car at Village golf cart store instead of a new one - cost $13,000 with added backseat. New ones are around $18,00 or more. They let us pick out color -wheel - seats= everything. Finally, BEFORE your one year mark you need to get complete home inspection $300 - call to schedule it after about 9 months home inspectors very busy.

Great video - gave me an idea. Why don’t you and Linda do this for different models in the villages? I have a Jasmine and would be glad to have you film it. I’m having add’l cabinets installed in the kitchen, have done lots of landscaping, have new quartz countertops, fancied up the master bathroom, etc, etc. I’m sure lots of Villagers (or potential Villagers) would find that very interesting. You could have that be the theme of your Thursday shows. Feel free to get in touch.

it's only feels small because of the house we sold to move here. There is really lots of room. All the kids and grandkids have come to visit at different times and there was plenty of room for them.

Terrific video. It's the small gestures people do that says who they really are. The story about the motion sensing light shining into the neighbor's bedroom and Jerry's comment about correcting the situation---wow what a great neighbor. Anyone would be fortunate to have either of you couples as neighbors.

Thank you, we did not know they put in a motion light outside the door until I went out there one night, a couple days after glass was installed. Best part, after I noticed the light was shining in the neighbor's bedroom window. I asked her about it. She never complained or said anything until I asked her. So, we taped over the light instead of taking it off and having an opening for the rain.

Thank you Sgt. Jerry, for a career of providing and protecting our freedoms. 10th Mountain Division patch. For many years the 10th Mountain Division was headquartered here at Fort Devens Massachusetts, before moving to Fort Drum New York. I would see them repelling off the cliffs in Leominster State Forest. Many of us would see them practicing telemark skiing on Mount Wachusett in Princeton Massachusetts. Miss having them here at Devens. We're you stationed here at Devens Sargent?

Very nice! It seems they have completely settled in and decorated/upgraded the place as a permanent home (being in the military, USMC for me, we learn to not get too attached to things/places). I am looking forward to opening the door to my brand new Basswood model in Richmond just one week from today. At the moment it looks a lot like the inside of a refrigerator, I am so looking forward to finally picking out colors based on my own preferences (not neutrals that are easy to paint over or might appeal to the next resident), putting up ALL of my photos/art/decor, and acquiring furniture I plan to KEEP (rather than buying stuff that can take the beating of moving every few years).

Interesting that his property ends exactly where the neighboring home begins. A little close for comfort. Have to have a great relationship with your neighbors. Those plants are beautiful. IT'S NOT a Court Yard Villa, It's a Veranda, basically a designer home with a fenced in yard.. When the Verandas came out, they were around $300,000.

Jerry and Linda great show. Nice to see the inside of a Veranda. If they had those when we moved here we would be living in a Veranda instead of a Court Yard Villa. My oldest son was born in Cincinnati in 1969. We lived there for 5 years and got to know the Reds pretty good. Been to Johnny Bench's Dugout Bar and restaurant several time and also Pete Rose's Bar. Jerry, you left out Sparky on the end. OHHHH Yess, and why do soooo many people want to call it a VILLA. It's a Veranda, basically a designer home with a fenced in yard..

Thanks to Sergeant Jerry for his many years of service Great video houses Jerry you should have asked him what he did in the Army are expensive all over. I must be very lucky cause anything they have in the Villages I can do here all within a 15 minute drive from home and do minus the golf cart our area is very senior focused we don’t have the great weather in the winter but we are going somewhere warm for two months we can do that a lot of times for a down payment on a house but I do love the Villages and maybe one winter I can. convince the hubby to rent there

It's not a villa, It's a Veranda, basically a designer home with a fenced in yard..

Another nice video! Jerry and Sandy were so gracious to let us all in and see their beautiful home. Actually, they helped us out a lot. Our very first question we sent to you which you answered back on April 19th, 2021 was regarding glassing in a lanai and if folks do that. We bought our home in December 2021 and I will be making the permanent move next month. Getting estimates for glassing in the lanai was on our list along with crown moulding, landscaping and more. Yes, another new "fixer upper". (as my husband cringes) So thank you Jerry and Sandy for the honest, transparent information. Your home is lovely and thank you Jerry and Linda for bringing it to us!
