That must have been an ordeal getting them here all the way from England.

Greyt Show some what an ordeal, but it help we hired a gentleman who helps military families book flights for the pets ( he always tries to to have the pets on same flight with the owner), the creates and transport the animals to airport. He spoke to Heathrow Animal Reception Centre ( they call it ARC) which the load and unload animals on the plane, plus process through customs. We also had a special crates made for Chase and Bella, because the dogs should be able to turn around and stand according to customs from the UK and US. Of course, we had to watch the for the weather because if it is too hot or way cold the airlines will transport the dogs, for international flights airlines put them in cargo. We were blessed because we were flying into Houston and we made it by five degrees. My husband and I made sure Chase and Bella was loaded into the van when we landed in Houston, we would not get off the plan till we saw our dog loaded up in the van. Unfortunately we lost Chase from old age two years ago ( he was 14 years old when he passed) and we lost Bella last year right before Christmas (she was also 14 years old). Of course greyhound are like Pringles’s you can’t just stop at one. Lol

I'm not sure how/if it affects performance. I am planning a video about "happy tail", which is what it is called when they have to cut it off cause it is usually cause they wag it and bash it into things and break it a lot. Just not sure when that will go out.

How long have you had your two retirees?

We adapted 4 retired greys in 2011. After researching the racing industry we decided to purchase 2 racing puppies they became racers. Unfortunately we parted company in 2016 she has the greys @@GreytShow

Greys tend to work better for people with allergies cause they dont have an undercoat or dander. Not sure how many meet and greets adoption groups are doing during Covid, but if you have the opportunity to be around some, you can test to see how your allergies react.

You do not have any allergies to dogs or cats. that's what they want you to think so you'll reach for anti-histamines (which are pharma-produced). If you take the right amounts of Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Zinc and Magnesium your allergies will come to an end.

I feel that a lot of voters in Florida were misled by special interest groups that alleged abuse. It is my understand that a suit has been introduced to the state court regarding how voters were misled but I don't really know what to expect out of that.

You have to check for adoption groups in your area and get your name on a waiting list. There is a shortage of available greyhounds right now.

@@ruthhagenbaugh2223 I have been on these "waiting lists" forever. The "rescue" groups seem more like a business. They collect a lot of funds, and you don't "adopt" any dog, you PURCHASE them for $700. And even still, when you see a dog that might match you they say, "oh, that one is going to someone who lost their other greyhound recently". They are all "non-profit". It's a scam, or definitely fishy.

@@shedroids That's really not right. My group was never like that. We would match up the right greyhound with the right home, whether they never had a greyhound before or whether they did. We only charged $375.00 to adopt. No scam with us. I hope you can find a different adoption group, never a rescue group. They aren't rescued, they are retired.

@@ruthhagenbaugh2223 You sound like you run a nice retired greyhound group. Unfortunately, it does not work that way where i can look for the best group. We are stuck with those in our area because they don't send greyhounds from outside our areas..... even if they seem to be able to have them be brought all the way from Ireland and Spain and UK and even Japan and Korea!! I want to get a young dog right from the whelping places where they breed them for the races... but these retired racer groups are the ones that prevent it... because they cannot make their money.

@@shedroids Awww, see, you want a pup. That's almost impossible. Pups go really quickly whenever they become available. The young ones are very rare to adopt, even for those that are in the business. The only way pups become available is if one gets injured while playing, if it's an oops breeding, where the breeding wasn't supposed to happen or if the pup has a deformity of some kind. Otherwise, they don't start training them until they are at least 14 months old. If they won't chase for whatever reason, then that greyhound will get an early retirement and go to an adoption group. Most available greyhounds are anywhere from 2 to 5 yrs old. So, if you want an older greyhound, you can probably get one as long as you get approved. If you want a younger one, you'll most likely have to find a breeder and buy a pup from them. Adoption groups don't make money on adoptions. The fee to adopt goes for vetting before they get adopted, for spay or neuter, dental, chip, shots and worming. That is expensive and adoption groups rely on donations to help too. They don't get paid to run these groups.

I'd love to borrow a radar gun and clock my greys at the dog park to see!
