Kinda bummed about the lack of interest for this build. It gave me the motivation to build a low mile motorhome 460 for my 79. Probably lower budget/ghetto than yours, but my boy's should get a kick out of pulling the truck at local fairs. Fyi, you're a better father than I am, my kids can pick either Ford blue, or Ford blue.😂
Cool I have a 460 in class a with banks powerpack and big cam it was built when I bought the RV. 490 hp on dyno and im yank it out and build it better. I like your build. Beautiful stuff brother . Thank you. These 460 are workhorse tpegue monster engines. 600-800 hp is what I plan on build. Engine first and put it in least obvious sleeper an old granada or wagon any old ford. Cool chanel. Thanks for share.
Thanks for the info. I would like to know more about the headers you have on the 460. Do you have a part number for them? You did say they were L&L mid length. What wer they designed to fit? They look like they would fit my project. Good channel!
@cprgarage3206 Well, I saw your dyno video, and im not gonna say I told you so, but I hope you get the opportunity to learn from this. i would like to say, also. the duration at .050 is the most accurate way to determine what the power is gonna be. it really does take between 224° and 230° to make 500 horse with 468 cubic inches. if you have good head's and enough compression, at least 9.5cr, depending. using the advertised number is almost pointless. it all depends on where the advertised number is measured at. you cam get a 230° at .050 with a advertised of 274°. that 230° at .050 would have made 500 horse. well, as long as your heads are good enough. anyway, it sounds like you are happy and you have a motor that will work good for your purpose.
here's a good comparison to extrapolate what kind of power you'll make. its a 475 cubic inch with a 219° at .050 cam, 9.0:1, and edelbrock heads that flow a little better. four more degrees duration and a few more cubic inches made 482hp ru-vid.comMEGHwZyIbbs?si=TpsMOZXcYgVFQE4M
