In this self defence video, we demonstrate some of the best kicking options for practical, real world self defence that are simple to use and effective against their target. We focus on kicks targeting the low, middle and high targets of an attackers body, demonstrating how to perform the kick and where to target. We also explain why kicking the groin isn't ALWAYS the optimal choice!

Excellent advice. I’m not a kicker but the advice on turning the foot to maximize the chance of landing is great advice.

Great advice and a nice collection of useful kicks! Distance is also very important with pushkicks. If the enemy charges at you and you wait too long till he is too close you just gonna push yourself onto your ass. So also train for the right timing

Tittle should be "best kicks for people who don't know how to fight" at the end of the day.... The Dutch JAB+Dutch Low Kick Basic(like the 1st Combo we learn here is better than this). Although without training ur Jab Will suck in that case advice in this video is a better option like I said for people who can't fight nor Kick this advice is OK. For people who Kick good, better than most, or for someone who is the world's best kicker; A Wheel Kick To The Doom, A SIDE or spinning Side Kick to the liver, or any roundhouse kick to any part of the body after a Jab is a better option. Good video.

@@AJVANBAKKER thanks AJ. Really appreciate the feedback. This entire channel is for people who would benefit from simple techniques that can be learned quickly and easily practiced. I.e beginners, novices or those who have not trained in a long time. Trained, experienced fighters would be much better off going to another channel😁

@simpleselfdefence_ UR groin kick advice is on point... it won't connect most of the time on moving person... another fact about the groin kick is, it's not a fight ending move, it won't incapacitate ur enemy/opponent/assaulter... There are many videos of people connecting and only getting the other person angrier... I've seen it many times at doors, I've been hit myself there and I've also used it many times, never once have I ever seen a person grab their D... with both hands in pain and drop to the ground, the only shot that does sort of do this is the Liver Shots, they will totally incapacitate u... even ur legs will go weak.. ur welcome 🙏
@raullm6820
@raullm6820 13 дней назад
As Ryan said, this channel is not aiming to offer tips for Kickboxing Dutch style practitioners. Having said this, a few things: liver shots are great but very difficult to land properly and effectively. And... 2005, the Madrid Super lightweight Champion was battering men... So I threw out of desperation (and because I am a chicky bastardo) an inside low kick but clearly aiming the groin... Wow! It did stop him completely! He was lying on the floor for ten minutes. Fight ended and stopped being battered up in public. So yes, groin kicks work specially in combination with other multiple shots and combinations. In any case, we really appreciate the feedback, we take everything onboard.

Really useful information here, yeah the steel toed shoes can be nasty and even just driving the edge of the shoe into and raking down the shins. The low line kicks are definitely way more efficient than any head kicks, those are just for competitions really. If he goes to throw a roundhouse kick can you use that check to block it? I know kick-boxers use their shins to block with, but I’m not convinced it doesn’t damage them or you need well conditioned shins to do that.

Thank you my friend👊 yes absolutely. That kick to the top of the thigh is a great option for checking an attempted roundhouse👍

Fantastic demo! How likely is it for an opponent to catch your chest kick? Do you use this kick primarily when they charge at you? I believe that during a charge attack, they're less focused on your legs.
@simpleselfdefence_
@simpleselfdefence_ Год назад
I believe so too. Sparring with someone then yes a catch and trip is more likely. But a committed attack from a charging opponent, a push kick becomes a far less risky technique to use👍
@percyfaith11
@percyfaith11 Год назад
Most attackers are not trained fighters who are used to sparring. They're not going to be looking for a teep, they're going to be trying to overwhelm you.

The oblique kick isn’t that strong since the way the body is designed you can’t exert much force since the waist does cancel out some power and you have to get closer to kick. Compared to a side kick which you can kick from a further distance and more natural for the body to put more force into the kick.
@raullm6820
@raullm6820 Год назад
Maybe, but side kicks need some good level of training, they don't work naturally plus they could be slower and easier for the leg to get grabbed. But, to be fair I like them, and a video about them will be done eventually. Thanks for the comment!
@SuperMaryu767
@SuperMaryu767 Год назад
@@raullm6820 If your kicking on the knee, it’s just as big of a chance it might be grabbed when doing the oblique kick plus having more distance especially if the guy is bigger. Side kicks are one of the most natural kicks, less telegraphic and can be done in a regular standing position with a pivot for increased force instead of using the rear leg then you have to be closer.
@raullm6820
@raullm6820 Год назад
@@SuperMaryu767 I like the side kicks, but a lot of people specially from certain (middle) age on, aren't just capable to pivot and keep the balance, let alone to do it effectively, in range and with power, accuracy, etc. But as I said, I still like them and they are also a valid option for people with some degree of flexibility, coordination, practice, etc
@raullm6820
