The odyssey ignorance is insane. May not have the best firepower. But, here comes a big but. Its the fastest capital, beating even some cruisers in mobility, it has pretty low fuel consumption so you can fly it basically everywhere for marginal fuel costs. It has the biggest sensor range of any ship thanks to the built in advanced sensors, it has very high flux capacity, very good shielding, a large missile slot, and even 2 fighter hangars. Its literally a fleet in itself. While a paragon/onslaught might beat it in a slugfest. But they will never catch up with an odyssey. Its the quintessential battlecruiser design. Outguns what it cant outrun, outrun what it cant outgun. Give it 2 plasma a mirv, 2 xyphos and rest doesnt matter. You can quite literally solo entire fleets. Many ppl think the conquest is better but it really isnt. Ody is faster, tankier, have basically 90% of the conquests usable firepower and it has great utility outside combat. Not many capitals can stand up to a radiant in 1v1 but the odyssey is one of those

Eradicators are incredible ships for gun lines, and their range means that they can’t really be threatened by most hit and run style ships. Their ammo feeder as well means that an enemy has to spend about 2 seconds in gun range of 3 souped up medium ballistic slots for every 1 second they can actually use their own guns.

My personal choice: Frigate - Hyperion (Supership, but multiple) Destroyer - Medusa (Heavier fast frigate) Cruiser - Doom (Cruiser sized nuke spawner) Capital - Odyssey (Although weaker than usual capitals, it still quite moldeable and speedy, not only that but has bonus to survey and salvage making it great for anything.) - This message was sponsored by tri-tachyon.

In reality i agree tempest is the best and i will always have way more then i should in my foeet un the late game However for firepower, stats, and preformance the afflictor and its ability to add a debuff against enemy ships just smashes Also sunder destroyers die in droves, even with the best weapons. Cant keep those ships alive. Best to have some solid enforcers instead.

>not mentioning SO eradicators how did you forget about other main eradicator fit archetype, the one that uses safety overrides to enhance its already high speed further while improving flux dissipation by a lot to support 2 assault chainguns (and a heavy machine gun for shield breaking) for insane DPS did you just never encounter one when fighting pather fleets?

If I think about what I actually use in my fleets in games then: Frigate: Tempest (runner up Omen) Destroyer: Hammerhead (Sunders are decent too) Cruisers: Champion Capital: no strong preferences (I enjoy piloting Odessey)

My fleet in every playthrough: monitor frigate (tanker shield and two DP less than Tempest), either Eradicator or Eagle cruiser, but I always pilot Retribution battlecruiser. If you want defeat me, go wolf pack tactic with a bunch of scarab.

1.Agree. Tempest is the Tembest 2. Again, agree 3. That's where the problems start. Eradicator requires a lot of micromanagement and proper cover from other ships. I prefer more protected and tankier hulls. So my choice is Apogee 4. Not even gonna argue (but you are wrong lol). Capitals are so different you HAVE to try all of them yourself

Disagree with everything except eradicator and paragon. We all know best frigate is an omen, most versatile and strong frigate out there.

Conquests are the best capitals. Cheap, fast, etc. They get easier to use once you start learning how to properly fit them.

It is debateable though. For example i would not say that the sunder is the best ai ship. Is the voice ai generated.
