To address a bunch of the comments, when we say "eBay Spacers" we don't mean to classify ALL spacers on eBay in the same category. There are good brands out there, but this is just common terminology for cheaply made spacers that are often found on eBay or Amazon and made overseas. Bora spacers are made in the USA! www.customwheeloffset.com/store/?cat=Spacers

@benjaminberan7645
@benjaminberan7645 4 года назад
@@24revealer you are assuming the truck is sitting on an absolutely level surface. Best way to measure with tires installed is to 1)chock front wheels and jack up the rear so both rear tires are just about off the ground, but not completely so they won't turn 2) use a long straight edge up against the entire tire (dead down the center of the tire) and measure to the fender 3) set the rear down and repeat for the front. But doing this also assumes that your front fender and rear fenders are equal distances from the center line of your truck. Best method is to measure hub to hub, subtract the two and divide by 2...this will give you exact measurement for spacers if you are trying to space your rear wheels to equal the front. But this will increase your turning radius

Everything you said was complete correct expect with the torque with the spacers. You should always torque the spacers the same specs that the manufacturer give you for your specific vehicle for your lugs. So example Silverado lugs torque to 140 the spacers should be the same.

It is always a good idea to re-torque wheel spacers after driving on them for the first 50-100miles or so absolutely. After you torque it and put the tire back on, the lug nuts get seated and the studs stretch a little bit so its always a good idea to check them with miles or like you said after a week or so

the best thing to do is buy wheels and tire that will fit your vehicle. & if you want to change the offset you can order wheels with different back spacing.

In colder climates. Drive 60 miles and retorque your spacers. Then put your wheels back on torque... drive 60 miles and retorque the wheels again. This is the only way to torque wheels with spacers. Lots can happen in 500 miles. Most would complain it's too much work to take all the wheels off but so is organizing a funeral.

QUALITY LUG NUTS!!! I installed spacers and my tire fell of a mile later. Torqued and red loctited but the outer lugnut (wheel to spacer) threads sheared and fucked off.

Probably a stupid question but will I have to get an alignment after wheel spacer installment

No such thing as a stupid question when youre learning. And that is a very commonly asked question, you should not need an alignment after installing wheel spacers.

I just bought a 2007 Jeep Liberty...paid a good price for it...will a one and a half wheel spacer hurt bearings or much of anything? I am NOT going off road nor planning on racing. Just a daily ride in the snow. Mostly for looks

You mention the quality of the aluminium when comparing your spacer to the ‘ebay’ spacer but the aluminium wasn’t the problem the studs were, so maybe they provided lower grade studs which I doubt or what actually looked to be the case is that they were the studs on the car and someone over torqued them hoping they wouldn’t come off
@CustomOffsetsTV
@CustomOffsetsTV 5 лет назад
The major issue with lower quality spacers is that they are not hub centric which can lead to studs being sheered off. Torque specs definitely play into it also.

Enjoy all of the videos. My question is can I use spacers on my factory 20"wheel. I'm running 33x12.50r20 Fury RTs with a 2.5 front level on a 1500 Ram.

fucks with scrub radius and causes premature wear on all parts. That's a fact! When you cobble, you get cobbled results.

I have a 14’ Chevy Silverado with 3” level lift up front and 2” rear blocks I got 20x12 -44 with 285/50 street tires but I’m gonna be running 275/45/20 All Terrains over my 20x12s cuz I want a stretched look. So my question is can I run 2” spacers without rubbing..??

Does Bora give you the NEW front end alignment specs needed since your wheels are no longer in the stock position? And how have you found the front wheel bearings to be holding up? Also, remind people that in many states, your wheels CANNOT stick out from under the fenders. You CAN add fender flares in many states, but NOT all.

You do not need to realign a vehicle when adding spacers or changing wheels Ken. As for laws, that is upon the customer to decide! In Wisconsin we're not allowed more then 2" out, but most cops don't care!

Actually the toe will change. Alignments take into consideration the force pushing the wheels to the outside door to bushing and ball joint play.

Ken O'Day but if you steering components aren't clapped tf out it's not gonna change anything. certified Hunter alignment technician

Because ALL bushings and ball joints have play, the vehicle manufacturers figure that in to their alignment specs. If your front end parts are "clapped out" as you say then an alignment is impossible.
