Man, you scored on that ! On Audiogon, it may go for over $1k. Yup, test the electro caps. Lube the motor, feed it clean power and treat it gently. It'll last a long time. I got a shelf full of late 1980s Philips players ... all bought used, all going strong.

i have equal cd player but it´s PD-S901, it was the top model from pioneer when this type of cd player came out also have a 803,later bought on ebay for 140€ but looks new and works perfect as all the others i have ,URUSHI have the PD-9000, they sound very good a perfect separation of channels or tracks in each channel, the prices you refer they appeared in 2017 beforeeverything was more cheap and a lot of models since the early 70´s were available ,today some are very rare, i bought to a friend a PD-9700 that is just like mine 901 but the display is r in silver as my pd-9000 too ,the best cd player i have was ofered but today it´s still for sale and cost 36.000€ from CEC belt-driven. The pioneer turntables from the 70´s lot´s of them were built by CEC or chuodenki

Those old Elites are really something. Almost the Holy Grail for vintage boys and girls as far as CDPs are concerned. Beasts, heavy construction, good specs, nicely implemented DACs, etc. $6? WOW! What a steal! The other thing to note is that those earlier players have lasers in them that last 20-30 years or so. By the 2000s we began to see lasers with MORE limited lifespans (8 years or less). Would love to have one of those in the collection! Enjoy!

Help. I have a pd65 was working fine then i shut off the cd player with drawer open now it won't power on at all??? HELP!!!!
