Randy is my cousin. He had a brother Gary who was drafted by the Saint Louis Blues. He, right up to the 90s, was still brawling in men's league in Calgary, busting people's Jaws and such. Because of his reputation, people just had to try . He's a hoot at family reunions I'm told. I still have the three leading penalty minutes in the NHL hockey card with him framed by Tiger Williams and Dave Schultz.

When my former roommate said that his cousin was Randy Holt, I mentioned that Randy was best remembered for that one night against the Flyers but he said that he didn't know anything about it until I showed it to him in the NHL Record Book I had.

Gordie Howe was the most versatile team player of all time, two way player, prolific scorer, didn’t hesitate to drop the gloves and always wore thin elbow pads and sharp elbows, other teams hated him on the ice and loved him off the ice.

harles5000 Chembetrayals No. I was just wondering what the point in bringing up Gordy Howe was? This video is about a player with the most penalty minutes in a period. Howe did not pick up more penalties than anyone else in the league at that time. He was more skilled than that. Hence the Gordy Howe hat trick being a goal, fight and assist. It’s like bringing Eddie Shore up on a video about the most offsides that ever happened

I have this whole brawl on tape, it was the 1st tape i ever got as a kid in the late 80s. the video actually had some VERY weird background music on it but i absolutely loved that on tape.. The NHL is soooo vanilla and boring these days, there is some occasional fireworks but the league is night and day different from the great days of the 90s and early 2000s, i barely can watch the current game as its just so vanilla most nights,. Sports needs rivalries and good guys/bad guys, white hats vs black hats (makes it interesting) ... i hated the Flyers in the back in the day but i LOVED watching their games as the amount of intensity they brought to a game, so fun and entertaining
